About Tim & Margaret Gill

Maggie and I met, where else? On a beach but on Long Island when we were just teenagers in 1986. We celebrated our Silver Anniversary in July of 2011. We have a couple of terrific children, Jessica 25, still in medical school and Brian 23, working for Metro North. I inspect buildings for a living and Maggie drives a school bus. When we're not working, we love to get away to our future retirement home in Rincon where we've got the pleasure of making some real nice friends over the years in and around our Puerto Rican home. We enjoy getting away from it all whenever we can on one of those nightly JetBlue flights from JFK straight into Aguadilla-then it's only about a 25 minute drive to our warmer front door. Peace, quite, sunshine and smiles. Ah, Rincon, how we've missed you.

After sailing the Caribbean a few times it was time to find a place in the sun where we could easily get away from the cold northeast and faster lifestyle. After deciding that Puerto Rico is the ideal place for folks from the states, we spent several of our next vacations traveling different areas of the Enchanted Isle. After learning that our real estate agent who serves the entire island of Puerto Rico, has plans on retiring in Rincon, we knew we had to check it out.

While I was looking for a house on its own piece of property (we vacation in upstate New York often), Maggie was looking for a beach-front community with security and plenty of amenities-well, she won out. Don't they say that the woman is always right. Well she certainly was in this case. We've found a terrific second home right at the beach, with great neighbors and friends along with the piece of mind of the 24 hour gated community when we're not able to get away. Punta del Mar Beach Village sits on approx. 145 acres of ocean-front property. The largest of its kind in western Puerto Rico.

Why Tim & Margaret Gill chose Puerto Rico

This secure and friendly residential complex on the northwestern corner of Puerto Rico is truly paradise. The weather is outstanding, nature is bountiful and time spent just so relaxing. Our Home away from Home. What a find it was to find Rincon.

What makes this villa unique

We know you have many places to choose from in which to spend your vacation, so why choose our property? Our vacation home is located in Puntas along the north side of Rincon so you can surf right 'outside the front door'. The area is also great for boogie-boarding and snorkeling. The home is in a gated community, with a 24 hour security guard and rests on 145 beautifully natural and landscaped acres along the 2 miles of secluded beach. The quiet and private community provides security and piece of mind for adults and especially for your small children-truly a terrific family environment. Our home is a 2-story Mediterranean-styled villa of over 2,000 square feet inside and furnished exterior patios outside. You can watch the water at the same time you're barbequing. You will enjoy comfortable nights on quality mattresses, pillows and sheets. There are plenty of towels and linens along with a nicely furnished kitchen. Central air conditioning on each floor is provided along with a laundry room. There is a 42 inch LCD TV for movie watching along with a stereo with an I-pod port for your favorite music. The villa is nicely decorated to complement the beach-front environment. Ocean views are present from the dining room and master bedroom. Warm, inviting and cozy you will find our home most relaxing for a fabulous vacation stay. While in Rincon, Maggie likes to walk/jog the mile-long driveway from the guard booth. There are tennis and basketball courts as well as an exercise room at the club house near the resort-styled swimming pool. We spend time collecting sea glass on our often secluded beach. We also snorkel one our beach and often relax at night playing dominoes or hanging with our neighbors. When we're out and about during the day, there is always a choice of what to see, where to go or what to buy. Privacy and security are two words we use to describe our vacation getaways at the gated community of Punta del Mar Beach Village.

Peaceful Tranquility

  • 5 of 5

My husband and I stayed here during our honeymoon. It was our first trip to Puerto Rico and we wanted to experience more of a tranquil versus hustle and bustle experience. Well, we were definitely impressed. The villa is far enough from everyone yet close enough if you want more activity. We loved the convenience of having a "home away from home", with everything at our fingertips from a full kitchen with supplies, grill, beach towels, lawn furniture, and even a dvd player for those nights in. The beach and other restaurants were a very short walk away, and tons of other attractions within a short drive. The owners were very helpful in providing suggestions and recommendations or directing us in the right path if they didnt know directly. We loved the experience so much that we considered finishing out our PR stay here instead of San Juan but another lucky tenant was coming in so we found another place down the road. We will likely return in the future. Thanks for everything!

Relaxing oasis!

  • 5 of 5

We had a wonderful time in Rincon! Tim's property was great for our two small kids - the house was clean, well-equipped, and plenty of space with two floors, and it was so nice to be able to open the door and let them just run around on the safe quiet property. You're just steps away from the beach (rough, but great for surfing) and a tidepool for the little ones, and a short 10 minute drive to just about anything in Rincon. Tim also gave us great suggestions (and directions!) for fun things to do and places to eat around Rincon. Definitely recommended!

Owner's Response: Thank you for choosing to stay with us and for your accurate review. The gated community is so safe for your family, peaceful and quiet. Just far enough for complete serenity with nothing else to be heard at night besides the waves and the coqui frog singing; yet close enough to all the restaurants, nightlife , and activities Rincon offers. And don't forget Thursday nights in the town square with the live music and flood of locals selling their arts and crafts. What a terrific and special place Rincon truly is.

Outstanding vacation choice

  • 5 of 5

Family of 5 with three high energy teenagers completely enjoyed this property, secluded beach and proximity to town and non-beach activities. Frequent VRBOer(France, TN, LV, Lake Champlain and now Rincon) and I have to say that this was most seamless stay so far. The owners were highly responsive and did a great job from driving directions to restaurant recommendations. We will definitely come back!

Owner's Response: What a terrific comparison, the liking to France, Las Vegas and others and stating you will definitely be back to our vacation home in Rincon. Rincon is terrific, peaceful and relaxing and the secluded beach in the gated community couldn't get any better. Thanks.

Wonderful villa with great hospitality

  • 5 of 5

We had an excellent time at our stay here. From the beginning with helpful hints and tips emails, to being readily available if anything came up while we were there. The villa itself is perfect, it was very clean and well stocked. I liked the seclusion of the area, I don't like the overcrowded vacation resorts, this place was perfect. Our family included my husband and I, our 17 year old son and 15 year old twin daughters. They loved the beach which was absolutely beautiful! We didn't make time to walk to the bar on the beach which was recommended by a couple people. We did eat at Janeir a couple times the food is very good but note the price matches. The carbon express before you get the resort has excellent chicken and is very reasonably priced. We shopped at the recommended Mr. Specials and ate in a lot too. I recommend going to the waterfalls, it's beautiful. We went to the upper falls with the rope swing, because the lower falls was crowded and just had swimming. If you only do one activity though while you're in Rincon I suggest getting a hold of Rincon paddleboards. They are very helpful, extremely nice and it's economical. My daughters paddleboarded and my son had the surfing lesson. They are the second white tent at the marina. To get to the marina head towards Rincon, then you will Turn right just before you get to the police station in town, (road 413) then follow the signs to Rincon paddleboards/marina. They have horseback riding tours there too.

Owner's Response: Sounds like a PERFECT vacation....Helping you plan your vacation prior to your arrival is so important . One should never come home from a vacation and say, "We should've done that- or gone there. I wish we had known about that'. Margaret and I have been vacationing in Puerto Rico for close to 15 years and greatly enjoy sharing information with our guests to make their stay as memorable as possible. Thank you for sharing your tips; we'll add those to our guest e-mails.

Great location!

  • 4 of 5

We enjoyed our week at the condo. It was much bigger than we thought it would be. There is another room with a sectional couch and tv not in pictures. it was nice to have coffe, toilet paper and laundry detergent already stocked

The location was great and we felt very safe. It was a short walk to Sandy Beach and a few restaurants ( there is a trail through the dunes/ forest that makes the walk easier than on the soft sand on the beach) . Bring a flashlight if you are going at night. The beach was great for collecting sea glass and watching the sunset.

We enjoyed the falls in San Sebastián and the Caves.

Sandy beach was a great spot to swim, boogie board or watch the surfers. Tamboo great for happy hour. The Pool Bar was fun for sushi and Big Kahuna for burgers.

There is so much to do and see in the western town of Rincon from terrific beaches, surfing, snorkeling, the collection of sea-glass; to restaurants (Janeiro's is accross from the guard gate, a short walk down the beach to Casa Islena or Tamboo Beside the Pointe), sight-seeing, whale watching in the 'winter' months, near-by casinos, golf, catamaran rides and boating, para-sailing, the visiting of small museums, historical and religious sights, a rain forest, a dry forest, a day trip to Old San Juan or a trip into the mountains. Puerto Rico is called the Enchanted Island for many reasons.

Explore beyond the shore to nearby Mountains, the Caves of Camuy, Eco-Action tours near the Arecibo Observatory, the Waterfalls of San Sebastian, one of the several Indian cerimonial Parks, the Wildlife Refuge on Route 119, the place where Christopher Columbus landed in Aguadilla, Tainos Indian ruins, Cerro Punta-the highest point in PR (near Jayuya), one of the oldest churches in the western hemisphere located in San German, a Marian Shrine in Sabana Grande, visit beautiful cemetarys where above ground entombments are heavily decorated, a dry forest in Guanica, weekend boating through mangroves at the popular Gulligan's Island located near the dry forest, the only rain forest in the US park system (El Yunque)-eastern part of the island, go golfing along the sea-side in Aguadilla, horseback ride along the beaches of Rincon and Isabela, take a local surfing lesson or two or just relax and enjoy the peace and serenity of the most laid-back town in the northwestern corner of Puerto Rico. After you experience what Rincon has to offer, rest assured, you'll be back like us. Best wishes for a most enjoyable stay. We are at your service and Kenny our property manager can help you find the very best places to visit, eat or drink. He can also arrange for a massage and surfing lessons.

ENJOY., Tim & Margaret Gill

Read the Reviews. There are several board games in a kitchen cabinet as well as a dominoes table for your enjoyment. The living room contains a full brochure holder of local attractions as well as some of our favorite restaurants. There are a couple of higher-quality boogie boards for teenagers and adults and a couple of small ones for younger children to play around with. A cooler in the kitchen closet is there for your use and some basic pails and shovels for the very young. Feel free to use the beach chairs provided you rinse them off real well of the sand and salt water after the beach. There are 2 tennis rackets and tennis balls along with a basketball (pump present if needed). You can walk to bar and restaurants either across from the complex entrance (Janeiro's) or walk down the beach towards the sunset to Casa Islena or Tamboo (3/4 mile0. Property is located close enough to enjoy the nightlife and restaurants of Rincon while being just far away enough for total relaxation.
