Guestbook comments from the manager

We enjoyed the serenity here., the calm and peaceful setting. Porch was wonderful, sitting and looking at the river, even while it raged after storms. Great amenities (big kitchen), individual room temperature controls, several tv's. We opted to park across the road due to heavy rains - glad to have that option - driveway a bit tricky. Thank you for sharing your home with our "pack" - human and canine.

The house was clean and neat; had everything that we could have needed including an amazing view of the river! Very quiet and perfect for a little getaway

Great view but house needs work

  • 3 of 5

Stayed here June 1-4, 2014.

"PROS: Great view of the river. This is by far the selling point. Also close (15 min) to Chimney Rock, which is a great place to visit. House is updated/modern in the main living area. Includes A/C window units which are a blessing. Main master bedroom bed is pretty comfy.

CONS: The entrance to the house is through a very musty basement room, which is a real turn-off. Unfortunately, the musty/mold scent permeates the house. House needs major work to renovate the basement. While the river is the selling point, unlike the picture shown, there isn't great access to it as the whole front is now overgrown vegetation. House is also quite buggy (ants, moths, beetles, etc.) but that could mainly be due to its location in the woods.

Overall, we loved the river, but wouldn't stay here again."

Family Vacation

  • 5 of 5

My family and I stayed at this cabin for 3 nights, and we had a blast! The cabin was very clean, and had everything we needed and more. The beds were comfortable, kitchen was well equipped, and the driveway wasn't too difficult to drive on. VERY close to Chimney Rock park, and only around 40/45 minutes to Asheville. Minimal cell reception (Verizon) which was a blessing, and the wifi allowed us to still connect with others when needed. Cable was also nice to have, but it's not needed when you're visiting such a lovely place.

Our favorite part was the view from the porch! Our two children (ages 3 and 2) had a blast hanging out outside and watching the river flow, and mom and dad also enjoyed the relaxing view and sounds. We only wish the weather was a little warmer so that we could have swam in the river! :) No mountain view, but the river more than makes up for it.

We loved this cabin, and plan to return in a few months.

Nice place with a great view

  • 5 of 5

A number of us rented this cabin for 4 nights in August 2013.

The place was extremely clean and well stocked with linens, kitchen utensils, etc. The deck was amazing...seeing and hearing the river down below sitting in one of the rocking chairs was a highlight.

There was a fire pit downstairs which we enjoyed during the cool nights (we're Floridians).

The only problem was we planned too many activities in the surrounding area and did not get the chance to spend more time here (during the day anyways)!

Thanks to the owner and property manager.

We loved your mountain get-away

  • 5 of 5

Thanks for sharing your lovely home with us! We had a beautiful two

days~played in your creek, played Settlers of Catan at night (our

family's favorite game), hiked up to Chimney Rock and attended my

friends' wedding in Asheville. We have an exchange student living with

us from China this year...so, we were able to show off the Western part

of the state and show her some mountains.

Your home was comfortable, immaculate, and restful. I would recommend

it to anyone!

thanks again,

Rita

This was the perfect get-...

  • 5 of 5

This was the perfect get-away for our family with four children and a dog. If you want quiet and privacy, but want to be driving distance to town, this is it. We felt welcome with our kids and dog (bowls provided), and couldn't keep them out of the icy river (in April). We felt like we were hanging over the river while sitting on the porch, and wouldn't have minded sleeping there either. The weather was clear and pleasant in the day, and cooler at night. We couldn't have asked for a better weekend. My husband can't believe you are willing to share.
