Just the Best
We met friends from our Navy days for a reunion and our lovely accommodations helped to make it perfect. Two nights we decided to stay home and enjoy the beautiful surroundings of the courtyards and fountains. We picked limes off the trees to use in our gin and tonic! Even though it is on a busy road, the advantages of the location far outweighed the little bit of traffic noise. We enjoyed walking along the La Jolla shores and it was so nice to be close to everything. The house was so very clean and comfortable and the furnishings are elegant. We highly recommend this as a wonderful home away from home. The pictures on the website are exactly as it is. The owners were so nice to work with and were attentive in every way.
We enjoyed the house and the location.
The owners were also very nice and responsive to our questions. The courtyards were lovely. The view of the water from the master bedroom was great. La Jolla Shores was just a short walk from the house. We walked to dinner in the evenings. We would rent here again when travel brings us back to the area.
Nice floorplan for family
Our family stayed for 25 days. The floor plan is great for a family, lots of space. The bedrooms are split. Nice fenced in courtyard in the back and front. Nice peaceful landscaping. No A/C. all rooms have ceiling fans. The tub would not drain one night the owner had it fixed right away. Right off La Jolla VERY busy road, you can hear the traffic noise in the front bedrooms. We bought a box fan to help drown the noise for the baby at night. The owner did bring a rocker over at our request to rock the baby. There is no baby equipment or beach equipment. Hard to get in and out of the driveway. House was pretty clean. Nice to have a washer and dryer. We where a family of 4 adults and 2 small children. I brought my own sheets and glad I did the ones provided are very worn. There is a "granny" house connected with its own entrance. We where told if their granny was there we would not know she was there. She was very nice, but was in the courtyard watering front and back daily. We had a small dog with us, made us nervous she might accidently let him out. Would have preferred no one coming into the backyard with out notice, for privacy. There often was workers around doing some thing. Kitchen could have been better stocked. Mismatched pots and pans. Nice large serving dishes. Nice 10 min walk to the beach. Biggest problem was getting our deposit back. After we left the owner said we owed a "vacation tax" that was not part of our contract. We got all of our deposit back, 2 weeks after we left after having to have a attorney demand letter sent. If not for the deposit hassle we would have considered staying again.
In February, Phoenix attorney's family of four reserved our Cottage (specifically excluding 92 y/o grandmother's Granny Flat) for the entire month of July. They requested and received an "early bird" discount for the month's stay. Two sets of in-laws were to join the family along with their little dog. Though rental agreement was under attorney's name, late payments dribbled in from three different sources. At arrival, family cut short their visit by a week, demanding a credit--which was provided. The City of San Diego taxes occupancies of less than 30 days. When notified of taxes due, bully attorney threatened lawsuit demanding full refund. Security deposit was refunded in full within the 21-day period established by code. We would NOT consider renting to this arrogant family in the future.
Relaxation station, minutes from the beach...
La Jolla means, "The Jewel," and this property reflects the connotation perfectly. I highly recommend this property for many reasons. Firstly, this home is comfortable. It's peaceful, with a very homey cottage feel to it. The gardens and fountains are very relaxing, and there are numerous varieties of fruits and veggies growing right in the yard, which I love. With the spacious gardens, this home is also excellent for entertaining. I also love how this home is decorated. Very classy and tasteful with antiques and a variety of books to read out on the aforementioned relaxing patios. The master bathroom is very luxurious, with a giant closet, and the kitchen is very cozy and fully equipped. Next, the location. This home is walking distance to the gorgeous La Jolla beaches, which are perfect for long or short runs, and is also close to many different restaurants and bars, as well as coffee shops and breakfast eateries, parks, shopping, etc. Not to mention, it's in San Diego, so you're close to just about anything the city has to offer. I love this rental, and would highly recommend it to anyone.
Beautiful La Jolla property
We spent two weeks in this property with our grandchildren. The house is spacious and its second room has its own entrance and patio. Everything inside is tastefully furnished and decorated, with plenty of closet space. Location could not be better and the covered car port was a big plus. Though the house is on a high traffic street it is completely shielded from noise by the lush garden and the sound of the outdoor fountains. For us the best part were the nice courtyards and the gorgeous gardens. Everything in the house worked as expected. The owner has been very helpful. We had a wonderful time and will highly recommend this property.
