About Diane Carrier

My husband and I have been spending summer vacations in Wells for almost 30 years. We have created wonderful family memories here and have always dreamed of owning a vacation home in the area. This dream came true in 2010 when my husband spotted this house and decided this was going to become our beach house.

Diane Carrier purchased this house in 2010

Why Diane Carrier chose Southern Coast of Maine

I had my reservations about this house! This house was built in the late 1800's by a sea captain. The people we purchased the home from had owned it since the mid 50's and made very little improvements over the years. Let's just say it was a true 'fixer upper' and if my husband wasn't a General Contractor I would have never agreed to the purchase of this house.

It took over a year to obtain approval from the Environmental Protection Agency to start renovations. This meant the house needed to remain true to the original footprint. It was very challenging to add modern day amenities within the existing layout. Meanwhile the house needed to be raised and moved so the existing basement could be filled in and a slab poured for the renovated house to sit. Overall, it was a daunting and amazing process! The renovations were finally completed in the spring of 2012 and we couldn't have been more pleased with the outcome. This very old and neglected house had come to life again!

What makes this house unique

The views from this house are spectacular! You can sit on the porch and watch sail boats pass and seals at play. From the side porch you can watch the various birds and wildlife in the marshland and the researchers tracking them. There is something to see from every room in the house!

Crescent Beach is a just a brief walk from the house. Moody Beach is approximately a 15 minute walk. On occasion, we've taken the trolley into Ogunquit to have dinner and then walked from Ogunguit Beach to Moody Beach back to the house.

Great ocean view

  • 4 of 5

Great place for family gatherings, very well equipped kitchen, very comfortable bedrooms. The ocean views are amazing especially at sunrise, and plenty of ocean air.

Charming property overlooking the ocean.

  • 5 of 5

We were delighted when we arrived at 359 Webhannet Drive. A charming, newly renovated home with a welcoming appeal. We came together as an extended family, six adults and two small children. The accommodations were perfect for us. Overlooking the ocean, the younger ones named their seals in the distance. The white sand beach was only a short walk away. Even the lobster pound was in walking distance. We were busy not only enjoying the views and beach, but also the local attractions, such as Perkins Cove and Kennebunkport. The owner is a pleasure to work with. We've adopted this home as our "home away from home" and are looking forward to our return in 2017. We highly recommend this property, as long as you love it as we did and care for it for all of us to enjoy well into the future.

Absolute Perfection

  • 5 of 5

We stayed in Diane's beautiful home for a family vacation. There were ten of us (6 adults, 4 children) and when we arrived at this house we were blown away the moment we stepped on the porch. Before we even got inside we just stood on the porch and looked out over the ocean. Hearing and seeing the ocean so close to your front porch, makes an ocean get away even more relaxing. When we entered the house we realized we had found "our place." The house was meticulously cleaned. The open concept of the downstairs was perfect for all of us to be in the same room. The kitchen was very well stocked with anything you may need for cooking and preparing food. Diane has thought of every detail! We loved the island in the kitchen, where kids could eat easily, leaving enough room for adults to sit around the dining room table. As a bonus, off of the kitchen, there was a wonderful side porch that was screened in, It was perfect for night time card games that were bug free and the kids also loved to eat at the little table out there! Upstairs there were three nice bedrooms and a bathroom, perfect for each pair of adults to have their own room. Two bedrooms in the front of the house had a great view of the ocean, and an awesome breeze that came through and kept things cool. The third, back bedroom had a pretty view of the marsh out back. What the kids and adults loved best though, was the top floor. The third floor was a huge, open, airy room with a view of the ocean from every window. There were three pull-out couches, perfect for kids sleeping. The third floor also had a TV and board games, great for the couple of rainy afternoons we had. The kids could go up in "their room," and just chill. Another bonus of the house was the washer and dryer on the main floor in the 3/4 bathroom. The washer and dryer was so handy, allowed for lighter packing, and going home with not too much to do! We enjoyed having our coffee on the front porch each morning, watching the sunrise. We were able to watch seals, hear the ocean waves , and simply enjoy the gorgeous scenery. When it was time for us to go to the beach, Crescent Beach was a two minute walk from the house. You could not access the the beach from the front of our house, but it wasn't a bad walk, quite easy to access the quiet beach down the road. We brought a beach wagon that made getting to the beach very easy! Bottom line- we loved it and can't wait to go back. Thanks Diane!

Better we could have imagined.

  • 5 of 5

We haven't even left the property and we already cannot wait to be back. The house is extremely well furnished, clean, open, and outfitted with anything you need for a great family vacation. It is situated perfectly on the water, a short walk from the beach and has great parking options. The porch is the best place for coffee and happy hour and both sunrise over the water and sunset over the Marsh are spectacular. Diane was extremely accommodating and kind. Fantastic experience. You won't regret it.

Perfect house for a seaside vacation!

  • 5 of 5

Our group (3 families) have just spent 3 days in this gorgeous house. We were here last year, and loved it so much we decided to come for a quick weekend gateaway this year. The house is absolutely spotless. We have been regulars to Wells/Ogunquit and this is by far the cleanest house we have stayed in. The house has everything you could need: from kitchen utensils to beach toys. Diane is the nicest host always prompt whenever we had questions. Could not recommend it more. We definitely plan on coming back!

Great weekend

  • 5 of 5

We enjoyed our stay. Everything was perfect, clean. The location is near Ogunquit. It is just a bit more windy in that section. We would go back and we recommend. The view of the sea is incredible, like a postcard.
