The many facets of the lake make the visit worthwhile alone. As the sun rises the water may change from the dark of night to the golden yellows, oranges and vivid pinks with hints of turquoise and blue. The lake may be so still that it can mirror the reflections of a great egret or a great blue heron gently feeding in the grasses and plants; but, within minutes can change to the vivid blues of a cloudless day, with white caps rolling in from the breezes stirring over the lake. Storms can be watched dancing around the lake, turning the water to the grays of the clouds. Clear nights are perfect for star gazing, or watching the moon rise over the water. At other times the lake can be so still that the stars reflect off of the water. A full moon rising over the water offers a magical view with a magnificence that could take ones breath away. The rise and fall of the waves, can break the moonlight into a thousand facets each dancing and shimmering across the water.
The gentle breezes bouncing off the water allow the palms to sing one of nature’s sweetest lullabies. The quiet rustling of the fronds can easily sing one into a deep and relaxing sleep. As the sun bounces over the horizon in the morning, the bird songs, along with the lullaby of the palms, can bring one quietly into the new morning and fully refreshed to face the day. Having coffee on the porch, along with the breathtaking beauty of the morning is a site to behold. The ospreys are probably out feeding, and one may hear the cry of an eagle. There are red headed woodpeckers, humming birds, butterflies and so much more. The lake with all its beauty is shared for the enjoyment of all.
