About Jane Sirignano

Grandmother, homeowner, and food and nutrition educator. Love the outdoors and walking, especially in Lake Placid!

Why Jane Sirignano chose Adirondacks

The Birdhouse, as we affectionately term it, has been in our family since 1994. In 2012, we completed a gut-renovation and are now sharing our home with vacationers and athletes from all over the world.

What makes this house unique

Quiet, private area and spacious home.

Guestbook comments from the owner

Thank you so much for allowing us to use your wonderful chalet. The layout is amazing with a beautiful view of the stream through the trees made us dream of glade skiing all night. Not only were the beds the most comfortable VRBO mattresses we’ve had the pleasure of using the chalet, your chalet was wonderfully clean and equipped. We loved it!! I would give it a 9 out of 10. 10 = ski in and ski out.

Thank you again. We will be back!

Second Stay - Perfect Location, Perfect Home!!

  • 5 of 5

This was our second stay at the Birdhouse and it was just as great as the first! We will be back for a three-peat!

This rental is in a terrific location in the town of Lake Placid. The amenities were perfect - everything you could ask for. Larry and Jane answered any questions very promptly. Easily accommodates 8 or more. The kitchen has everything you need for meals. After a dirty day of hiking, it was so nice to settle in to this beautiful rental! High recommendations!

Our yearly repeat, always a pleasure!

  • 5 of 5

We are a group of older women who love the Adirondacks and shopping in Placid. This house is a joy to stay in. Only lacking a fireplace but the babbling brook out the windows makes up for it. It is stocked to the nines with all sorts of daily supplies. We love it here. Close to everything but feels like backwoods with trees and brook. Peaceful and inviting. Highly recommend!!

Excellent choice.

  • 5 of 5

Just had a fantastic time in Lake Placid using the Birdhouse as our base camp. Beautiful home with everything you can imagine to make you feel warm and welcome. The layout of the home is perfect. Spacious, roomy yet still cozy and easy to group chill with your housemates. It honestly felt like we had rented from a friend who really wanted to share their home with us. I cannot say enough about the owners. We had any response to email in a few moments from start to finish. When we had a bit of an unexpected issue with a vehicle they were understanding and made what could have been a terrible ending to our trip nothing but a minor glitch. We simply could not recommend this rental enough. You'll love it.

Super clean with plenty of beds for a family reunion!

  • 4 of 5

Our family gathered at the Chickadee rental to celebrate our son's 25th birthday. We were very pleased to find 5 comfy beds and 2 1/2 well stocked bathrooms with some of the fluffiest white towels. The Chickadee met all of our needs and was very warm with a great heating system. The very large windows in the family room provided a lovely view of the brook running at the back of the property. We particularly liked the quiet location of this rental. The kitchen was nicely stocked with paper towels, dishwasher soap, coffee for the coffee machine, various baggies, plastic wrap, etc...The owners, Larry and Jane, were very prompt in responding to all of my emails including the initiation of the rental process. Thank you, Larry and Jane.

Great home, great location, great owners!

  • 5 of 5

This was our second stay at The Birdhouse. We're already planning our third. The home is extremely comfortable, clean and well maintained. Fabulous location nestled in the woods on the edge of town with a gurgling brook running out back. So secluded and private that its hard to believe that you're only 1 block in from the highway. You're within 5-10 minute walking distance of Mirror Lake and the village shops and restaurants. It's a short ride to either Whiteface Mountain, the Olympic Training Center or Mt. Pisgah. The owners are extremely responsive and great to deal with. The perfect spot for a family getaway.

Perfect for our family of ALL ages! Every need was taken care of

  • 5 of 5

Our family was more than pleased with our weekend stay. Starting with driving into a private plowed road, then walking into a warm ready cabin. Wildlife was abundant in even in the snow; we watched deer play in the stream, took pictures of bear tracks in the snow, and built a snowman. Coming in from Colorado to spend time with my daughter, son-in-law and two small grand-babies over thanksgiving break we booked this weekend stay last minute, with easy! . Even though the holiday weekend was snowy, rainy, and cold, the birdhouse was perfect for the in-climate weather. Grandpa joined us from Penn and we had a great family time playing games at the large kitchen table, eating and relaxing in the open floor plan. Loved the bedrooms and the warm bedding. The owner has gone way out of her way to organize, label, and make available everything you can think of. We mostly appreciated all the children's furniture (booster seats, strollers, crib, ect.) and age appropriate toys. The kitchen has everything needed to cook and entertain a large family.

If the opportunity arises for us to return to the Adirondack area, I would hope we could stay again.

The Jerrolds'. Corrells' and Watsons'

We have left a guest book as a gift to the owner and future guests from far and near, to share their memories of their stay.
