Minimum Stay 5 nights

About the property

1 bedroom, 1 bathroom, full kitchen, A/C, 2 bikes & kayak, sleeps 3

Aloha, come and relax at our tropical Kailua home located in one of Kailua's finest neighborhoods. Kailua Beach hale is located across the street from the beach access (150 feet to the access and about 700 feet to the waters edge) to a quiet sandy section of Kailua beach. It is a great spot for boogie boarding and snorkeling. Use the kayak, boogie boards and snorkel gear to cruise Kailua bay. Towels and beach chairs provided. We also have two bikes for you to explore the area, just a mile to Kailua town. The hale has an open air design, with high ceilings and plenty of windows. The wall dividing the living room and the bedroom does not reach the ceiling as it is a high domed ceiling. It has a modern kitchen with dishwasher and a washer/dryer in the bathroom. Enjoy your coffee in a tropical garden area with comfortable chairs and patio table. We have just built a beautiful rock waterfall and pond that is wonderful to listen to while relaxing. The living room has a flat screen TV and DVD player with Cable TV, Netflix and free WiFi internet available. The living room also has a single size bench seat that can be used as a bed for 1 smaller person. A playpen is available for little ones. No sofabed. The unit has a common wall with the main house but against a storage area so you have complete privacy without feeling like you have a neighbor. You entrance and yard are on a separate street from the main house giving the cottage a feel of being on its own. Kailua is great for snorkeling, kayaking, biking, swimming, diving, windsurfing, boogie boarding, surfing, paragliding or enjoying a good book. The property is very private, fully gated and has 1 parking space and a private entrance. Being close to a popular beach you can hear some car noises during the day, although the beach is sparsley populated compared to Waikiki.

Kailua beach is one of the most beautiful beaches in Hawaii. It has something for everyone. Kailua town has great restaurants, lots of shopping and is away from the Waikiki crowds. There are plenty of supermarkets close by for groceries. Our Kailua hale is conveniently located to enjoy all that Kailua has to offer.

This place was awesome. Lisa and Brett were perfect hosts. We had everything we needed for perfect vacation. Kitchen is well stocked: everything family might need and more. Full true kitchen with normal size frig and even a dishwasher, oven, microwave, toaster, coffeemaker, etc.

Queen size bed and a small bed and a couch for small children., lovely, private backyard with a great fountain with goldfish.

Place has washer and dryer inside the bathroom, greatest asset when need to do a quick wash of towels or clothes.

Centrally located on the island, so everything is within short drive, we were able to explore the whole island from our Hale.

Privacy makes it possible to relax completely. Our type of a vacation, no crowds , no problems with parking.

Our type of vacation. We rediscovered Oahu. Great for a couple or a small family.

Thank you Lisa and Brett.

Great stay for two people

  • 5 of 5

The Beach Cottage is a wonderful place for a couple to stay. It had everything we needed, including beach gear and bikes! Access to the area is private, kitchen is well-equipped, and it has everything you need for your stay (and more!). There is not really cross-ventilation, so it did get warm inside. A short walk to the beach, very close to Kalama Beach Park, and we used the bikes to explore other beaches along the coast. Great place to stay!

Holiday of a lifetime

  • 5 of 5

Wow what a fabulous 4 weeks holiday we had staying in the "POD" during the later part of July and August

It simply had everything we required both inside and out. The place was spotless on the inside, the garden was beautifully detailed and the water feature really gave a sense of peace and quiet

We made great use of the water sport equipment, along with the barbie, the beach chairs were used several times each day and the bikes worked overtime- in fact as a complete surprize we arrived back at the "POD" one afternoon and there was two brand new bikes wait for us. WOW

Lisa and Brett we such fabulous hosts nothing was ever a problem and we loved the place so much we intend to return for another 4 weeks at the same time next year.

Would highly recommend this place to any one for the "Holiday of a lifetime".

Thanks so much Lisa, Brett and their lovely family

Very private, convenient location

  • 5 of 5

We stayed here for 8 nights and enjoyed everyday. Our son left for his kamehameha camp after the first night so it was just the two of us for 6 nights.

The beach access is across the street and it's about a block to get to the beach. We enjoyed using the beach chairs, boogie boards, and kayak. We didn't use the bikes because frankly Im too short and the height of the seat was too high.

We went to whole foods almost everyday for cheap breakfast and items to bbq. We didn't sit outside much due to flies constantly landing on us but that wasn't a huge issue.

The house had everything you possibly needed. The bed was comfy and we used the washer and dryer to keep up with the beach towels that were provided by the owners.

I typically walked in the morning and all of the coffee shops and grocery stores were 1.5 miles away.

We met the owners and they were very nice. They kept to themselves and made us feel like we were alone and not attached. This place was awesome too because we got a place to park our rental.

Overall a great place to stay and for doing an extended stay. Kailua is a small quiet town that can offer a great local atmosphere. We look forward to renting this in the future!

Everything we expected

  • 5 of 5

Interesting design - spacious 1 bedroom with walk in closet and a nice bathroom (with stacked washer-drier. Living room-dining room-kitchen all open as a large curved space in a "yurt like" design. Very interesting and lots of windows. The tropical garden (with waterfall) frames the yard in the same shape (crescent) with bar-b-que, large table and chairs and 2 lounges. And there is everything you would want to enjoy the nearby lovely, relatively uncrowded beach (even Kayaks! and bikes).. The owners were welcoming, pleasant and helpful, while not being at all intrusive. It is virtually a separate suite from the main house. I have already recommended this to several friends.
