Loon Lodge sleeps up to 8 people, and has 4 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, a full kitchen, two large living spaces, and a woodburning fireplace. Outside, Loon Lodge boasts a second level wrap-around deck overlooking the water, a large outdoor firepit along the shore, an open grassy yard for sports, a dock for your small motor boat or jet skis, and a sandy shallow bottom for great swimming. Whether you enjoy hiking or water sports in the summer, cross country skiing or snowmobiling in the winter, or simply a good book along the shore or by the fire, Loon Lodge is perfect for your getaway!
Located on the Bruce Peninsula, Miller Lake is approximately half way between the towns of Tobermory and Lion’s Head. An inland lake, it is small enough to kayak along the shores in search of wildlife, but large enough—and calm enough– for superb water skiing and sailing. Miller Lake is the perfect central location for enjoying all that the Bruce Peninsula, the largest remaining natural habitat in Southern Ontario, has to offer.

Owner is originally from Ontario, and grew up going to the Bruce Peninsula on vacation.
Miller Lake is extremely quiet and remote, surrounded by forests of birch trees and acres of unspoiled nature. The property has been completely renovated and is extremely comfortable in all seasons; cozy and warm in the winter, bright and breezy in the summer. The cottage sits close to the shore of Miller Lake, and from the wrap-around second-story deck, or from the ceiling to floor windows inside, you can take in amazing sunrises and have unobstructed views of the lake from all angles. Within 20 minutes, there is hiking along the Georgian Cliffs or on the Bruce Trail, miles of snowmobile trails, SCUA diving trips, boat tours, golf, bird and wildlife watching and dog sledding. On Miller Lake, enjoy kayaking, canoeing, boating, sailing and water skiing.
"Even better than its photos:
We stayed at Loon Lodge for a weekend in June. The lodge is undoubtedly the best cottage I have ever rented, and I have rented quite a few. It was very clean and well built, with great windows that open to a magnificent view of the Miller Lake. The deck, practically over the lake, is a great place to relax or have breakfast. The amenities are great, the owners Heather and Paul are very friendly, and the location of the lodge is great for visiting the beautiful Tobermory area."

Beautiful situation, clean, well-equipped cottage. Very comfortable beds. The kids (9 and 6) loved swimming from the dock, going for a ride in the canoe, feeding the ducks, toasting marshmallows around the fire and fishing. The only thing missing was a beach - but that might have been due to high water levels.
We rented Loon Lodge for the first time ever when my family was visiting from out of the country. We were a group of 7 altogether - 4 adults and 3 kids. The setting was beautiful. Miller Lake is big enough to get a good canoe trip in, but small enough that the water is warm and relatively calm.
The house was just what we were hoping for. Beautiful big living room windows overlooking the lake and a gorgeous wrap around terrace with a table for dining outside. I liked that the house had 2 levels so the early risers could be separated from those who wanted to sleep in.
The kitchen was stocked with all the dishes and cookware we needed and it was fantastic to have a canoe and raft and rowboat to use; saved us from having to rent.
The beds and furniture were a little soft/worn for our liking, hence the 4 stars instead of 5. I would also love the option to rent our linens and pay for housekeeping instead of having to haul all that ourselves to the cabin.
But all in all, a great value for our money and the owners were very responsive and reasonable to deal with. I would recommend this for a family getaway to anyone looking for a base on the Bruce Peninsula, close to Tobermory and the beaches of Lake Huron.
We have just returned from a fantastic week at Miller Lake on The Bruce Peninsula. The lake is about 3 miles long and provides enough space for some water excursions without ever getting too busy. The area has maintained an unspoilt and uncommercial feel to it so you really do feel like you can step back in time and relax in style!
We spent our time messing around on the lake going on short excursions in the canoe. As we started to feel more adventurous we hired various water craft from Summer House including kayaks, water bikes and a motor boat.
Trips to Tobermory for dinner (The Crowsnest Pub was a favourite) and a bit of wandering around was good fun. We also went lighthouse spotting and on a boat trip to Flowerpot Island which was excellent.
The cottage was very clean, comfortable and well equipped. The setting was perfect and we had a fantastic week.
Thanks for letting us borrow your cottage! We'll be back.
We were very happy with our stay at this beautiful cottage. Just as pictured and described. You will thoroughly enjoy your stay here.
Loon Lodge and property was exactly as advertised. Very clean and well maintained. The kitchen had everything we needed for our weeks stay and the beds were very comfortable. The view of the lake was fabulous from the cottage and deck. Miller Lake is so beautiful and peaceful. Our family had a fantastic time. We enjoyed camp fires, hiking, fishing and swimming at the cottage. We visited some of the main areas of the Bruce Peninsula. Tobermory and Lions Head are very nice picturesque towns. We would definitely recommend this cottage to friends and relatives and hope to return again soon.
My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our week long stay at Loon Lodge. We were delighted that the accomodations were so comfortable and home-like in such a rustic setting. The view from the deck was truly amazing as it looks out over undeveloped land on the other side of the lake. The canoe which was available was a nice accessory. The Loon Lodge, as its name implies, even had loons on the lake delivering their remarkable calls in the evening and early morning.
Excellent Dogsledding nearby for the winter months. We have a canoe and 2 person paddle boat, and life jackets, available for your use. There is motor boat rental available down the street.
