This is a great place to stay!

  • 5 of 5

Not only is it walking distance to downtown but it was a great place to stay. A nice quiet place with a nice view of the river. The cabin itself is amazing. A lot of room to spread out and the showers are awesome. With a ping pong table and footballs there's enough to relax or keep yourself occupied. It sleeps 10 but two people would be sleeping on a couch. Other than that it was a great time. Highly recommend staying here!

Owner's Response: Thank you for reviewing Swan Lodge. There are two queen size sofa sleepers in this cabin. One in the master loft and one in the basement. This allows for 10 people all in beds. Because one of the sleepers shares the loft with the master suite that one might not get used depending on your group. It works really well for families with young children. If additional privacy is desired we recommend limiting your group to 8.

Reviewer Comments:

Overall very satisfying -- We had two seniors, two in their forties and four teen agers. Had a variety of interests and a variety of activities. Overall satisfactory except those of us in our seventies found the stairs to be challenging.

Loved the house. Big and beautiful and clean. The only downside was the open loft which makes it harder to sleep moe people since it is loud.

The house is lovely!

  • 4 of 5

Girls weekend was spectacular at Swan Lodge! There were 6 of us and we filled up the 3 bedrooms. I'm not sure 10 adults could stay there comfortably as they would have to sleep on pull out couches. One of which is in the loft with the master/King bed. Beds were all very comfortable!!

The living room area is also very comfortable with 2 couches and a big chair. The fireplace is great! Wood was provided but it was difficult to keep it lit as there is no gas starter. Unfortunately the lighting was inadequate for reading as there are no lamps near the couches only overhead lighting.

The other thing to note is that the steps up to the master loft area are steep and a bit uneven and the other bedrooms are in the basement so if you have trouble going up or down stairs this house might not be a good choice.

The location of the house is ideal for walking into town, within 2-3 blocks and the neighborhood is lovely!

Next time we head to Saugatuck, we will stay here again!

Pretty Good!

  • 4 of 5

Overall this is a good rental. It has a nice cabin feel, beautiful windows, good open floor plan and is walking distance to town. The drawbacks for us were the master is actually a loft open to the living space below, so there are privacy issues if you are with a group. Also the master has no closet or dresser, just a pop-up Ikea cloth temporary space to hang a few things. The rest of the home has lovely furnishings so that was odd. A few up-keep things, the roof leaked when it rained and there were some minor repairs needed. The property is in a lovely setting, however it is at the end of a court and their are neighbors. The pictures make it look remote and private which its not. But we loved the street and the neighbors were all very friendly. There is no back-yard, just as an FYI. The screened in porch is great, however it's on the side of the house and you are looking right at the neighbors home. Either way, it was nice to have a porch and be able to sit outside without bugs. Working with the rental company was a good experience, the home was clean and they provided great directions. Overall its a good rental, nice "up north" feel and 15 minute walk to town.

Owner's Response: We contacted this guest after their stay to get specifics about minor maintenance issues and about the roof and those will be addressed. We have also forwarded the great suggestion of adding a dresser to the master loft since their is only portable rack.
