I'm Robin. Welcome to my little corner of Alaskan paradise! I'm a Southern Californian, Huntington Beach, who visited Alaska for the first time in the summer of 2011. I was overwhelmed by its size, majesty, beauty and wildlife. It truly is the last frontier.
I quickly dreamed of owning a piece of this bastion of nature's beauty and the pioneering spirit of America. So I searched from Seward in the South to Denali in the North and fell in love with TALKEETNA, the gateway to Denali and Mt. Denali (formerly McKinley). The favorite vacation spot of Alaskans and the mountain climbing capital of North America.
I discovered the most lovingly Craftsman style cabin I had ever seen. I turned it into the 'Dall House.'
It is my pleasure to share my vacation home with you, your family and friends. We hope you enjoy yourself to the fullest in good health and good cheer.
With warmest regards,
Robin purchased this house in 2011
I love the home, the location and Talkeetna.
The chief benefit is the closeness to Main Street Talkeetna but yet away from the crowds. Nice to come home to a peaceful refuge. You can hook up with any of the outstanding local outfitters or tour guides or relax at your own pace. A float plane lake is just a few minutes away. Strolling along the river or the hiking trails is another simple, fun thing to do. Or just dine and shop in the local stores featuring the best of Alaskan merchandise.
A 14 mile bike trail/cross country skiing trail and a 14 mile snow machine/ATV trail run along opposite sides of the TALKEETNA Spur Road. You can take them all the way into town.
The modern, local medical clinic is a quarter mile up the road.
A local favorite, and mine, is The Flying Squirrel Bakery and Cafe, about five minutes from town. It has delightful food, great coffee and scrumptious baked goods of all kinds.
Four miles South is the convenient, new grocery store and a large gas station at the junction of the Parks Highway and the TALKEETNA Spur Road.
We found the Dallhouse to be exactly what we were looking for. We met our kids from Denali National Park for a small reunion and stayed three nights. Everything we needed was there. It was perfect for some homemade meals. The town of Talkeetna was very fun also. The place was very clean and Diana, the property manager was very nice and helpful! I would highly recommend this house. We will definitely use it again the next time we make our trip to Denali. Thanks to the owners for making this possible.
Very nice home and very clean and comfortable. Great location for fishing, entertainment, etc. Only thing that needs to be added is a gas grill for grilling those locally caught salmon.
Lovely home in a quiet neighborhood setting. Property was clean and well maintained. Home is quite comfortable and roomy with 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms, modern kitchen and plenty of sleeping room- we stayed here with our 2 girls and there was plenty of room (house actually sleeps 7). Away from the bustle of Talkeetna center but close enough to get there by car and also was a good location for drive up to Denali and other points of interest. Would definitely recommend this place and would stay again!
The Dall House was a great location for us. The house was well appointed and even though it was a short drive to town, it was close to where we needed to be. Our fishing outfit picked us up directly from the house. We made good use of the kitchen for dinner each night but didn't use the TV at all. We liked the feeling of being out in the woods even though you aren't that far from the road and their are neighbors on the road. We wouldn't have enjoyed staying in or close to town because it is touristy so this was perfect for us. However, you should really go into town and walk around a bit. They have a great beer garden on Main Street.
The only reason that we couldn't give this house a 5 star was the sleeping arrangements. My sister and her husband were quite comfortable in the upstairs bedroom, but my husband and I had to push two twins together rather than sleep in the trundle. This house is really perfectly set up for a family or a group of singles who don't want to be sharing beds. To make it perfect for multiple couples, I'd add a queen to the downstairs bedroom. Again, it's perfect as is for families or groups of singles.
If you are looking for a spot in Talkeetna, I highly recommend the Dall House.
The Dall House was very comfortable and fairly clean. However, we couldn't rate it as five stars because of the following: We would have liked to had a gas grill to cook steaks, etc on, there was a shortage of kitchen equipment (especially utensils) so that we had to hand wash between each meal, the one downstairs bedroom was very small for two adults, only four kitchen chairs for meals, and when watching TV, two of us had to sit on kitchen chairs. Most of our concerns could easily be remedied. Had a great time in the Talkeetna area.
The home was very well finished and comfortable. Robin was very friendly and helpful. I gave it four stars simply because it is about 8 miles from Talkeetna. The drive is easy so we had no problem with it but if it were closer it would have been a 5.

This is the valley below Mt. McKinley (Denali), one of the greatest vertical rises in the world. It is at the confluence of three mighty rivers. It is the center of vacationers and tourists traveling to mountain climb or visit the famous Denali National Park, a 2 hour drive North. The best in outdoor adventure is out your door. Salmon fish in summer and cross country ski in the winter. Hook up with local, experienced guides and tours or do it on your own at your own pace. TALKEETNA is the perfect hub, and the 'Dall' house is your upscale, relaxing refuge.
