I grew up in San Francisco. Love this world class city for all it has to offer.
Mike & Amy purchased this apartment in 2003
It is centrally located. You can walk every where, or take public transit. Our world famous cable car is just right outside of the building.
Union Square, Fisherman's Wharf, Financial District are all within an easy 20 minutes walk, or take the Cable Car.
Cannot say enough how this Apt was perfectly located. My wife & I stayed for a week here & Mike was a great host, returned my text(s) & emails, gave us a write little book (in the kitchen) about where to go for : attractions, parking, how to use things in Apt & the best was the 2 transit cards we could use in San Fran! Apt was very clean, everything was easy to use, comfortable place & we had a fantastic time too!! The only small small bummer part was there is no cable TV. There is a great flatscreen TV in the apt, but is just hooked up to Netflix, Hulu, Amazon Prime, etc there is just no local tv hooked up. But honestly it made my wife & I go explore San Fran more & not just sit in front of the tube. Thanks again Mike & we will be back next time in San Francisco!!!
This good sized 4th floor apartment was just a perfect location for our visit, the edge of Chinatown with the cable car stopping in front. The view of the Bay Bridge from the bedroom is just beautiful with LED lights waving down the bridge at night. We traveled all over the city. The transit Clipper passes given to renters, made our travels so much easier. Mike and Amy left us pages of information and maps covering restaurants, groceries, television, etc so helpful. They also responded immediately to our questions. The apartment was clean and with spare furnishings, lots of closet space, great bed, fully equipped kitchen and a great washer and dryer. All we needed was there for our visit.
My husband and I and our 20 mos old stayed in Mike's apt for a week and had a fantastic time. Mike was very responsive, helpful and accommodating. The apartment was clean, very spacious, and close to most of the tourist attractions (i.e. within walking distances to Fisherman's Wharf, Union Square, Chinatown, Financial District, Embarcadero, etc). Mike was a fantastic host and was very helpful in making our stay enjoyable. He lent us a Pack N Play and even helped us accept and return the baby equipment to the rental company on our arrival and departure dates. Having a full size kitchen, and washer and dryer units in our apartment made a our life easier as it allowed us to pack lighter and ensure our son eats properly as we had most of our breakfasts and dinners at home. Thanks for everything!
I stayed here with my family for a week. This apartment was very nice. It had a fantastic view of the city and bay from the bedroom window, and was convenient to walk to several locations (e.g. downtown, North Beach). Host also left transit passes which were very useful as the cable car passes right outside and ordinarily costs $7.
Property was very clean and plenty of space for the two of us. Flat was on fourth floor, no elevator so that could be an issue for some. San francisco is a lot of walking on hills so we didn't really mind, but it was a bit of an issue carrying luggage . Bed was tempurpedic type. Very firm, but same we have at home. Cable car goes right in front of flat. That was a nice plus, but was frequently full. We got quite good at cramming in and learning the transit system. Nice flat screen, but directions on the entertainment system would have been good. We had to call, but a friend of owner walked us thru problem. Netflix available, but frequently buffered to point of giving up. Guess this is broadband issue. We liked location. Fifteen minute walk down to Fishermans wharf, but just minutes on cable car. Walk back is pretty difficult because of hills, but ride cable car back. View from bedroom window was awesome. Cable car noisy , but if window is closed, barely noticeable. Mike was very nice and met us on arriving. We never saw him again, but texted him if we needed something. Overall a very positive experience.
My wife and I spent a week in SF with our 2 kids. We were concerned about space and not sure apartment would be big enough but it was fine. Great location, clean and well appointed. Owners easy to work with. Only a couple of minor negatives: The street noise is pretty loud with the windows open and the lack of even basic cable tv. Other than that, it's a an exceptional place to stay while exploring SF.
