Stephen Ellis purchased this house in 2010
As an avid yachting family, the home was designed like no other to capture views, breezes, and the materials and furnishings used in the home reflect their best memories of yachting throughout New England and the Islands of Nantucket and Martha's Vineyard, the San Juan Islands in the Pacific North West, the Caribbean and Bahamas.
The view, amenities and the private location is beyond compare. The home is highly sought after and praised for its design, and has been published in 8 different local, regional and national glossy magazines, as well as news-papers and television. The anonymity of our guest list is paramount. Perhaps the most common unique benefit for our guests -- who have included famous actors, athletes and public figures -- has been the absolute privacy of the location, completely disconnected to the rest of the world -- yet still very close to everything with a boat.
We spent a fabulous week at this spectacular island home in Florida. Everything about this house felt like 'home' from the moment we set foot on the island. The accommodations were excellent, including all of the water toys - paddle boards, kayaks, canoe, beach toys, etc. The homeowners have thought of everything and were so easy to work with.
The sandbar is perfect for hanging out and enjoying a carefree beach day. We had grocery delivery to the local marina which was perfect and gave us more time to enjoy our vacation.
We accessed several other local beaches via boat and explored Anna Maria Island while staying at the home.
We highly recommend this wonderful island retreat.
The C & W Families
We had the best vacation ever at this house as a big family trip in celebration of my parents' 50th wedding anniversary . It was perfect. Our group ranged in age from 3- mid 70's. The house was lovely, thoughtfully designed and with every amenity (particularly for families with children), and the location was magical. It's a great place to sit back and relax, but there is so much to do there-- we enjoyed paddle boarding, kayaking, boating, and just exploring the island and sand bars. I just wish we could have stayed longer!
Fully equipped, well maintained, and wonderfully organized vacation get-a-way home. Safe beach ideal for younger children: and kayaks, paddleboards and canoes ideal for older "children". Fully retracting slider windows on both sides allows warm breezes to pass right through both family and dining room areas. Highly recommended.
We rented this house this past December 27 – January 3. The pictures posted on the web site DO NOT do this property justice. The house was fantastic. You are basically on a secluded island all by yourself! Every view from every room in the house was beautiful. There is something to do for all ages and plenty of room for everyone to have their own privacy. There are also many nice restaurants in the area, and on the waterfront. One of our favorites was Mar Vista Dockside! Our family thoroughly enjoyed the many water activities and scenic views. If you love sunsets, be prepared to be amazed. One of the best family vacations we have ever had!!
I cannot recommend this home highly enough! It was stunning and in the most serene private location. We had everything we needed. The owners were very responsive and great to deal with. They truly wanted our stay to be great. We were right on the beach and saw dolphins and manatees every single day out front of the house! Clear and beautiful waters and a sandbar during low tide was like our own private beach in the middle of the ocean! Because you are on an island, you need to get groceries before you arrive. I highly recommend having them stock the kitchen for you ahead of time. We would do this next time. You need to rent a boat to get to this property, and please be aware that the boat rental business only allows for one car overnight. We had two and ran into some issues. Steve, the owner of the house, was responsive and helped us solve the issue quickly. We had everything we needed at the house. Kayak's, paddle boards, etc. We had a total of 8 in the home and had more than enough room for everyone! Nice private rooms for time away! Loved every minute of our trip and will definitely be back!
The property description was not just accurate, it was understated. Our expectations were high but the reality was even better. We could not have asked for a better experience. The home was perfect for our family vacation; very clean and well-maintained with equipment for kayaking, paddle-boarding, or just relaxing on the deck or private beach or around the firepit. I woud highly recommmend this property and in addition, the Ellis's are wonderful to work with. Our kids and grandkids are already asking about a return trip!

Private beach and deep water boat dock at your front door and a heavily forested island with a foot path down the middle length of the island. Exploring the vast sandbar
Ordering in a private massage
Walking the island
In the evening, the sunsets are amazing and there is plenty to keep you busy – or swing in the hammocks and order Pizza to be delivered to the dock and watch a movie.
