Casa Colinas, with beautiful Costa Rican style architecture, has that certain charm appeal you will love. The expansive wooden framed windows capture the spectacular view.
This very spacious home has incredible teak wood vaulted ceilings throughout the main floor. The living/dining/kitchen are encompassed in one large open area, with the view capturing all the attention. The home more than comfortably accommodates 6 guests. The adjoining terrace overlooks the infinity pool below and the view from here is breathtaking.
The master suite is also situated on the main floor with sliding doors opening to the expansive terrace..perfect for enjoying the cool ocean breezes. The master bath has granite counter tops and a large walk-in shower.
At the lower level are two additional bedroom suites with private baths. As well there is a small kitchen and sitting room. This level opens to a large terrace and infinity pool, all surrounded by lush tropical landscaping.
Casa Colinas is located in the exclusive gated community of Monte Paraiso high in the hills above Playa Hermosa, but only a few minutes drive to the pristine clean beach. You will have the benefit of 24/7 security staff in the development. Contact owner for specials. email@example.com

Casa Colinas is centrally located. The home is situated on a mountain...and the views from each room are breathtaking. You are a short drive (5 minutes) to the beach and market. You could walk to the beach; however, the mountain is steep and climbing up could be a challenge for some. Our home is cozy and has all the comforts...including, wi-fi throughout. For those who wish to have a housekeeper daily and chef (it can be arranged)...the fishing is amazing and charters are easily booked.
We truly enjoyed staying at Casa Colinas. The home is furnished with everything one would need! We would recommend the house to others.
Really enjoyed our nine nights at Casa Colinas. Private areas make for a comfortable place to host friends, as we did. The pool area is beautiful, attended by a huge, mellow iguana and a friendly young monkey one morning. As mentioned in other reviews, Eric is very attentive and having Yohanna come and cook was an excellent experience. Dennis was extremely accommodating with our arrangements.
Maybe because the house is so large, it was not quite and clean upon arrival as one might like, as I repostioned the TV and the floor thee was a bit of a mess.
We also hosted a minor invasion of fire ants and a scorpion. We took these in stride. We would not want to have heard that major pesticides were applied, so taking care of these was no problem. This can occur anywhere in CR.
There are 24 hour security patrols and the gate attendants seem cheerful.
The dramatic entry foyer is a huge solar furnace which caused us to use AC more than we would have otherwise. Could use at least one sharp knife in kitchen.
Be aware that the location is on a steep hill, which is a long, arduous walk from the Hermosa beach, but a short drive. If you have 4x4 absolutely do not miss nearby beach Playa Penca, which has white Caribbean-like sand, aqua water and nice snorkeling. Recommended.
We just returned from a week at Casa Colinas and wish we were still there! We are a family of five with kids ages 3, 7 and 9. My wife's parents came along as well. This house was two master suites, two kitchens, two beautiful patios and amazing views of Playa Hermosa and the Papagayo Peninsula from all around the house.
The neighborhood is secure, quiet and filled with beautiful homes through winding, hilly streets. There is an abundance of wildlife right outside the property. While we were there we saw green and black iguanas, howler monkeys, parakeets, thrushes, vultures, cormorants and many other birds. There is a handy sheet to help identify the fauna.
Playa Hermosa is a great beach. It's long and there is about 50 meters of sand from the water to the trees so it never feels crowded. The waves vary from very gentle to moderate body surfing.
We booked several tours (snorkeling and Palo Verde boating) with Louis on the beach. He's from New Orleans, but is Costa Rican by heritage and took good care of us. He's just setting up his business and didn't have a business card yet, but you'll see him down by the beach chatting with everyone.
Dennis and Eric were very attentive with the property management company and took care of everything we needed very quickly. You hear about "tico time" but Eric and Dennis were punctual and thorough and communicated proactively with us.
We hired Johana to cook for us two times and really enjoyed the chicken, gallo pinto and fresh pescado (dorado) she prepared for us for a very reasonable price.
We'll be back to Costa Rica for sure and will look to stay at Casa Colinas again soon!
I cannot say enough wonderful things about this house. Our second visit felt like we were going home. Great location spectacular views and just all around fabulous. The view from the kitchen even makes me want to cook!!! For sure we will be back. Owner and property manager are easy to deal with Eric was there for anything we needed. Thanks Eric! Pure Vida
Our stay at Casa Colinas was spectacular! The house was beautiful. We like to cook and found the kitchen very well equipped. Dennis told us where to get fresh seafood in town and it was great. The views from the balcony and the infinity pool were unbelievable. We had white faced monkeys and iguanas visit us by the pool often. The nearby national parks provided great hiking and wildlife. We definitely plan to return next year! Thank you for all your team did! Bret
My family (husband, 17 yr. old son, 15 yr. old daughter) and I enjoyed our stay in this clean, beautiful, well maintained home in Playa Hermosa. The owner was easy to communicate/work with right from the start. Prior to our vacation, we asked advise from Dennis (property mgr. in Costa Rica), who was very knowledgable about who see for anything we wanted to do, and were to go for food and fun. Eric (caretaker of home) was just a wonderful guy. He helped us out with a couple of unexpected issues that arose, and he was always a phone call away if we had questions about anything. Some of our favorite dinners were; Mario's Cuisine (close to Hermosa Beach), Ginger's, and Asia Tica (in Coco). Rented 4 wheelers through Charlie's Adventures, which was super fun. Frequented Hermosa beach because it was close, and had it to ourselves. Saw Howler monkeys in the trees, and beautiful rare birds there also. Mostly shopped in Coco where all but a few of the shops had the same stuff. Upon our arrival we shopped a grocery store in Coco. It was called Super Compro, and it was sooooo bad. No running water, and rotten meat smell. I suggest the little grocery store right in Hermosa. I think that was called SuperMercado, and they had everything you'd need. Nice and clean with friendly staff. Next door to that is a great little souvenir shop. I found it to have some unique jewelry, and other gift items. Rented a car through Dollar Rental because we wanted to be able to come and go from our place at all times. Pretty reasonable, it was a decent SUV with 4 wheel drive, and deisel fuel. The driving was not as bad as we thought it would be, just interesting. Walking from our place would have been a challenge because the roads are steep, windy, and skinny. Plus, in the heat you would roast. So all in all, I would go back in a second and this would be my first choice. Very relaxing, safe, and just what we were looking for in a vacation. Loved Costa Rica!!
I am writing this review from the lower patio overlooking the vanishing edge pool and panoramic ocean view. This place is so beautiful it is a delight to just sit and relax here. Casa Colinas is very spacious and bright and we have more than ample room for our family of four. We were delighted to see a band of monkeys climb through the trees and jump off the edge of the pool in addition to the numerous iguanas that sun themselves near the pool. Play Hermosa is a lovely beach, very accessible, and not so commercialized. We also enjoyed short excursions to Tamarindo and Monteverde. We have a rental car and recommend a car for others who stay here for the flexibility this affords (getting groceries, exploring, etc.). We highly recommend Casa Colinas!
A land of incomparable beauty, climate and opportunity... This tiny jewel of a country is an oasis of pristine sun-drenched beaches, tropical wet and dry forests, and gentle smiling citizens. Costa Rica is home to 5% of the planet's plant and animal species.
Monkeys, quetzals, toucans, parrots, giant leatherback turtles are among the exotic wildlife that you will find in the well-known National Parks Reserves that cover over one-third of the country.
