Notes:
English speaking guide available Food and wine shopping Tour in Rome can be arranged: Taking a food tour is certainly a great way to learn more about Roman culture through the eyes of a resident expert. Stroll through open-air markets, visit food stores and old bakeries. as well as local artisan cheeses and salami. These are accompanied by samples of red wine and prosecco, an Italian sparkling white wine. Those of you with a sweet tooth will not be disappointed either, as all of this is followed up by a gelato and a coffee to give you the extra boost you need after all that eating.

A magical vacation in the heart of Rome!

  • 5 of 5

We had a wonderful time at this property. Paola was great at keeping in touch with us before and during the time we were in Rome. And what a fabulous city Rome is! We arrived at midnight and they were waiting for us to give us the key and to provide us with useful information about what to see and where to go. And even though the property is really only twenty steps from the Trevi Fountain with lots of tourists around, the apartment is very quiet and peaceful. We visited the usual places, but also ventured to many other places either walking or using public transportation. Walking to dinner to Trastevere was especially wonderful and the food was scrumptious. We avoided the restaurants catering to tourists and dined away from those. The space was perfect for us (my son, my DIL, and myself). We also loved the wonderful people next door, where we bought the best cheeses, bread and wine. Sending much gratitude to Paola and Eva for helping us have a magical vacation. We are looking forward to visit Rome again and again!

The apartment is in a perfect location to walk almost anywhere in Rome. We only used a taxi once.

  • 5 of 5

Paola was a perfect host. She arranged a limo for us at the airport, and when we had a problem in the middle of the night, she care to our rescue. There is a grocery store about a block away and we were able to make breakfast every morning and dinner almost every night. The eateries around are rather expensive so this saved us a lot of money. We loved the “calm before the storm” as you exited the super quiet building into the chaos of the street. It can be crazy!”

2 things- I wish I had known about the tax upon arrival. I immediately had to go to the ATM to pay it. It was only 7 Euros per day but I didn’t have it on me. And when they say the ceilings are low-they mean it. It wasn’t a problem tho because the apartment is so cool !

Overall we had a great stay and would recommend this apartment to anyone who is not looking to be pampered, but to those who want a real Rome experience. Ciao!

Great, central location!

  • 5 of 5

This apartment is in a great neighborhood, centrally located to be able to explore all of Rome. The area is very tourist-centric, so restaurants were more expensive than other areas, but it's an easy walk to many options for dinner and nightlife. The apartment had lots of natural light, and we were grateful for the elevator when hauling around our luggage.

Charming Garret Apartment

  • 5 of 5

Really enjoyed our stay in this top floor little garret. Amenities are good, and owner is attentive and nice. It leans toward a modernized shabby chic in a way that's pretty typical of older European neighborhoods-- if you like to immerse in local ambience, stay here! Location can't be beat.

Before the flat served as our base over a long weekend, I had a week to enjoy it as a workspace while in Rome on business. Probably I'm too old and baggaged to actually live in a flat this size anymore, but being here sure did make me _dream_ of being thirty again and living in a place just like it. During the cold and rainy days it was cozy enough with sufficient heat, and during the nice days it's open and airy, with double doors to an inner court yard in every room. Really a charming, romantic little place.

Can't say enough about how nice the owner was. During what could have been a nightmare scenario, in which a leaking roof over the neighboring stairwell started water dripping in the apartment, she was immediately available and on top of it, had building maintenance quickly and unobtrusively on the spot. I barely noticed.

Great internet, and a booklet with complete instructions for most things. Only exception was we found the instructions for the washing machine didn't quite get us there-- pro tip: if you plan to use the washing machine, ask carefully beforehand about how to run it;)

There's the option of a 2-person lift rather than 5 flights of stairs, but for the large, elderly, and physically un-flexible, be aware that there are some low-ish ceilings and small shower.

Overall, price perfomance here is excellent. Charming, quirky, it's your place if you really want a Roman getaway! (I'd certainly stay here again.)

Wonderful

  • 5 of 5

The location was amazing. Paola arranged to have someone pick us up at the airport, and drop us off right at the door where someone was waiting for us. She was very friendly and did an amazing job showing us the room, and places to go in Rome for dinner, sights to see. It was perfect for us who have never been to Italy. The ceilings were a little low along the one wall and the shower was small. But those are the only 2 minor negatives on an otherwise amazing stay.

Owner's Response: Hello Chris, Tanks for your revues. I am glad that you've enjoyed your stay. The photos in the website faithfully represent the apartament and the lower beam only in two particular spots: above the bed pillows and above the couch in the lounge. It shouldn't be a surprise though. Anyway is part of the charming atmosphere of the apartment. For the tourists who had never travel to the old Europe, I would anticipate that we don't have large spaces in our houses and streets. The houses in the city center in all the European capitals such as Rome, Paris, London are located in historical buildings of the past XVIII century or even older as the building in which is located that apartment. At that time spaces were reduced. Therefore you should not expect the large spaces of the coutries of the newer continents.

Great Location!

  • 5 of 5

We loved our location near the Trevi Fountain and MANY other tourist spots. We were able to walk most places and a short bus ride got us to the others. We were steps away from great restaurants, shopping and markets. Paola was very helpful and provided local maps and recommendations for dining. She also arranged transportation to and from the airport which was a GREAT bonus! I would recommend staying here to everyone!
