.. The owners family is also related to the Fraisers that are so encapsulated by Outlander the tv show The Fraiser's as the uncle was described played both sides in the revolutionary war to keep from hanging and was given St Simons and Hilton Head along with other land grants for his service to the british royal navy.but the Scots were supplied with men and fire arms and ammunition.The house is 8 Palm Ct with cross street st Palm Blvd. It was first built in 1948 by the Sottile family when they knew how to build homes of quality. There are three main town houses like it that remain. All of the homes were designed so at 40 ft would have an ocean view but built at 2 story level .The ocean can be heard from the home that is within 300 ft .100 ft of this is a wonderfully preserved stretch of beach that gives way to a pristine stretch of accessible beach .

The main living space has flowing sea blue curtains with leather sofa and loveseat with 2 leather chairs from Captain's quarters and a very large TV that has surround sound and 150 channels along with on demand and all sports channels...The glass closed in deck has a double brass bed and chest so it can be a bedroom in itself or day room to play games in a closed in glass deck that over looks wild asian bamboo and a table and of 4 chair outside with umbrella and hot/cold tub saline with hammock. Back inside 1st floor there is a large kitchen with all kinds of cooking equipment professional mixers a meat slicer , pots pans glasses silver ware dishwasher ,oven and a solid oak board dining table that seats 12 a refridgerator with icemaker with half bath 'and closed in glass deck with brass double bed/day sofa an chairs There are robes supplied for the hot tub then at bottom of the stairs is a washer in dryer closed in then up the stairs there are two bedrooms with queen beds with libraries The first bedrooms has beautiful sleigh bed with royal high back kingly chair and sold maple dresser with marble tops from 1890 my great grandmother's . Then a tiled to the ceiling 20x20 bath with walk in shower and magnificent claw tub ,Large linen closet stocked with fluffy spa towels the second bedroom has large gold framed mirror done with blue spread with downed comforter underneath and half bath travel down hallway to another two more bedrooms with a leather living room set also TV cable internet in the downstairs wing .It has a galley kitchenette with oven that leads out to a bamboo surrounded 23 x 12 deck screened with washer dryer

Back down stairs through half bath hallway off kitchen you step where one queen size sleeper sofa with internet cable living room with small 6 dining set and a two private bedrooms one queen size with white spread and head board .Then an antique bed of carved wood that leads out to 23x8 deck. Then moving out towards the deck There is a stack washer dryer with sensors for large spreads and rugs but before that a sliding door to bath with shower that has been redone in asian zen fashion in an beautiful antique and bowl inserted with flowing waterfall faucet..zen style. This is like a bath on a ship.This Mother in law can be entered from outside near dining room or beside kitchen though hall with separate 1/2 bath down 3 stairs . Side entrance provides no steps to climb perfect for older parents /teenagers a complete kitchen for early/late risers then a deck screened in porch 23 x 10 surrounded by 20ft bamboo and birds ..and a separate fenced in yard . All right 1/2 block to beach access at 29th or 30th.. from the Beach... .Glassed in porch on main house closes and becomes a bed room w/hvac the porch also has game room an brass day bed . Then the living room with leather sofa and loveseat and two leather chairs...The perfect way to travel with older children who have their own families....Free great Isle Of Palms Recreational center 1 blk away .The home has outdoor furniture with umbrella and hammock. Please shower before use to remove sand in hot tub it can mess up motor on hot tub.The children must use under supervision of parent.Please pick hot tub top up by handles because it could rip other wise and cost you a hot tub top. About Property Manager

My Father was a builder and my Mother was broker and started Lexington County Hospital So it is not surprising that I have owned Real Estate since 1978. I started a business that I thought of because my parents needed furniture for their club house and my boy friend at the time had water beds on the floor with no heat he was making ...I thought of water beds for the burn unit at Lexington County hospital and sold to them (with added heat and off the floor) That was my 1st idea was get these beds off the floor and looking like regular beds ...we were renting from Tom Jenkins at the time in a temporary shopping mall on broad river road ..1st malfunction junction.. I was at 18 an buyer for the store ( from atlanta furmostly) , financial lender of Commercial Credit, and head of sells, and part owner of Whit-Ash . original art , I personally did the TV ads so 250,000 people thought they knew me .the store was one of a kind...people bought furniture that was one of a kind like a piece of art.We moved to Gervais Street and grew ...I wanted to go on my own so I left and started a hair styling shop called Casa Blanca . What a fun business and we were very successful. Then I burnt out at 33 ...went back to College and took out student loans that I invested in stock market . . I saw my opportunity to move to Isle of Palms after Hugo and bought my 1st house in 1990 and started flipping houses , renovating and selling with building knowledge and interior design. I feel it is an honor to be able to live on Isle of Palms. I have known, sold or shown most homes here. I know investment . I have been reviewed by people who refer clients ..I am easy to deal with an a straight shooter kinda Woman. I am a professional that knows great investments with building knowledge and interior design. Built in 1948 has solid heart of pine floors and beams..it was the home for all kids in the neighborhood came to play and I felt it the moment I walked in.. ..location location across from beach but off Palm Blvd that has main busy traffic. It is classic design that is popular now because of it's Greek columns and white siding and blue shutters that remind me of Monte Carlo. The interior is done by me with classic furniture including a metal 1930 claw tub that has original fixtures that have never needed any repair.It will be a great home for another family who could raise for a view of ocean or just rent for an fantastic income till they retire. The house has a number of possibilities .I love old and not every body does I did not want to raise the house because of walking up that flight of stairs but if i did i would put in an elevator... ..so if interested and want my ideas of 49 years of handling property, stocks, financial advisor, or Trust handling. Nice home close to the beach

This home is perfect for a beach visit. There is plenty of room for guests and Captain Rachel is always close by if you need anything. Great place to stay!

Disappointing

We have not received our security deposit for our stay in September 2015. I have talked to the Owner on at least 3 occasions last year giving her our address 2 times and still have not received our deposit, as promised. We left the property cleaner than when we arrived. There was a problem with the master bed. The mattress apparently did not fit and was so noisy that one could not get a good night's sleep. The house could use an exterminator inside and outside. We have stayed at numerous locations on the Isle of Palms over the last 15 years using VRBO and others and did not have any of these problems.

confusing description and not exactly as promised

The description is somewhat too detailed and confusing, so we had one less bedroom than we anticipated. Daybed on the porch is really small with no curtains on the window. Not a suitable bedroom at all. The queen sized sofa bed in the apartment downstairs was old, saggy and uncomfortable. The kitchen is very small and not as described. Cooking for the 12 we had was a challenge. There is no table that seated all of us at once, which was disappointing. The yard was overgrown and full of mosquitos - didn't try to use the hot tub. There is a picture of a bedroom with wicker furniture that we never saw. The downstairs screened in porch is full of old furniture that was not at all an inviting place to sit. The one sitting area is ok. but again, not big enough for the 12 people this place advertised as being able to accomodate. Having said all that, if your family is smaller and doesn't need either the daybed or the queen sleeper, there are some positive points to the house - it was clean and it is an easy walk to the beach.

Owner's Response: I am putting a long table in that will seat 10 then 2 at side bar an move that glass table to mothers o n law for game table...there are two kitchens The one in main house has never u thing equipment wise to serve as many as you need..it is not a new house....so I r not paying 8 thousand for 12 people an center 20 x 20 room of kbeitchen .an but I believe between. 2 kitchens all with new equipment it will a ccomindate. Any great chief.but I will try an describe my place more clearly ..it even has a meat slicer...but Thanku for your review I know I could video it Thanku .

Great Location at a Great Price

Just stayed with my hubby at the apartment to the side. My daughter/son-in-law and their 4 kids stayed in the big house side. We had a great time. The house worked out great. We were all together yet still had our privacy. The location is great. A short very pleasant walk to the beach. The cul-de-sac location was perfect and away from busy streets. There were beautiful red birds all around the house and we had everything we needed. Thanks Captain Rachel for a great stay!
