North Caicos Villa Rental Photos and Description

3 bedroom (incl loft)/ 2 bath with amazing beach & ocean views

Conch Cottage is a beautiful villa set in a tropical oasis. It has an open floor plan that feels open, airy, and spacious. All the comforts of home are here, and it will become a home you'll want to come back to every year. The master bedroom has a Tommy Bahama West Indies California King bed with sliding glass doors that allow you to see the clear turquoise water of the ocean from bed and feel the ocean breeze caress your skin. The second bedroom is spacious with a queen bed and room for a twin pull out. The second story is a loft with a pull out sofa bed, wet bar, and balcony perfect for stargazing. There are two bathrooms, a full kitchen, living room, dining room, and laundry room on the main floor of the house. The front patio extends across the complete front of the house allowing you to dine al fresco at the large cocktail table with comfortable chairs, relax in chaise lounges and enjoy a hammock for complete relaxation including a ocean view and sea breeze. The beach is your front yard. It's about 30 steps from the patio to the water. There is also a gazebo placed on the waters edge to enjoy meals, cocktails, sunrises, sunsets, or just to enjoy the shade while watching your family play on the beach. Take a walk along the seemingly endless powder sand beaches, collecting beautiful shells (including conch shells) along the way. It's a private oasis that isn't interrupted by people, traffic, or the hassles of your busy life. It's like being on a deserted island with all the comforts of home.

You will be met at the ferry by Mac who will escort you to the house. You will then be greeted and shown around by the property managers who can answer any questions you may have. They are there to make sure you enjoy your stay. When it's time to leave, Mac will return you to the ferry. There is a cell phone available for your use while you stay at Conch Cottage and internet is provided if you need it.

You can lie in bed and see the beautiful turquoise sea, or you can sit in almost any room in the house, on the large patio, on the upper loft deck or in the gazebo and watch the water change shades of blue and green as the sun shifts through the sky. When you step into the water it's like a gentle caress. It is so clear that you can easily see your toes while standing in chest deep water. The water is incredibly clear for diving and snorkeling. Take a boat ride, paddle a kayak, sail a hobie cat ... there are so many ways to enjoy the water.

Wildlife viewing is plentiful, you don't even have to leave the front porch. There is a brown pelican that 'commutes' each evening at about 5:30 pm. The osprey dive for their meals right in front of the house. And if you're lucky, you can see the pink flamingos fly by. Hundreds of them live at the nearby Flamingo Pond. A sight you must see.

Come hear the waves crash on the distant protective reef that then gently laps the shore, feel the breeze caress your skin, smell the clean air and watch the sunrise or sunset from almost every room in this amazing beach front home. Sit on the large patio, have a cocktail and watch the sun color the sky orange as it sets on the sea. Take a nap in the hammock as the ocean breeze gently rocks you to sleep. You'll never want to leave.

About Denise Jacob

We are a family of four that loves the warm waters of the Caribbean. This is a dream come true to own such a beautiful place on the beach.

Denise Jacob purchased this villa in 2012

Why Denise Jacob chose North Caicos

The turquoise water was love at first sight. To be able to see it out of almost every room is simply amazing. We love the clean, modern lines of the house with an open floor plan that keeps the family together, but with enough room that everyone has their own space. The privacy is a rare thing to find. We love having the beach all to ourselves.

What makes this villa unique

One of our family's favorite thing is to lay in the hammock and sway with the ocean breeze. It's a place to completely relax. The internet is nice, but we find that we don't want to use it when we are there. We are too busy enjoying everything the island has to offer.

Relaxing getaway at beatiful home!

  • 5 of 5

My wife and I had the perfect anniversary getaway at Conch Cottage. The house delivered on all promises: it had all modern conveniences and was clean, big, and just steps from the Caribbean! The kitchen is fully stocked: no need to take anything but food. Mark, the caretaker, was there to greet us and gave us a thorough introduction to the house and the island. This is the place you want to go if you like privacy. We saw only a handful of people during our week-long stay. We drove to 4 or 5 different stunning beaches on North and Middle, and usually we were the only people in sight. Denise is excellent with her communications. We had a good experience with Virgil's Taxi picking us up at the airport and taking us to stock up on groceries before we caught the ferry. We also recommend Al's Rental Car on North. We took an 8:00 AM flight from Philly and our toes were in the sand by 4:00! We got acquainted with rum punches at the tiki bar just down the beach and forgot about the outside world immediately. (Here is an unexpected bonus: other than going out to eat and/or buying booze, there is really no place on North or Middle to blow your money. This is the first vacation we've ever taken in which we returned with most of our cash!) I highly recommend Conch Cottage!

An Amazing Place!

  • 5 of 5

We had a crew that stayed in the Conch Cottage! We had grandma, grandpa, mom, dad, son, daughter, aunt and uncle! Our ages ranch from 58 down to 18 months, and the Conch Cottage was perfect for our family. We cooked in 3 nights out of our 5 there, and the kitchen performed admirably!

We particularly loved the secluded beach, especially now that high season is over. It was 2 days before we saw any other visitors to the area! The Barricuda Bar was a great place to get a mid- day refreshment.

Denise is a joy to deal with and is very responsive to any and all requests. Her property manager Mark is also a pleasure to deal with!

If you like gorgeous places off the beaten path, Conch Cottage is the place! My only suggestion is to stay longer than 5 nights like we did! We shall return.

Outstanding rental house

  • 5 of 5

We have been renting houses in Caribbean for many years. This house is perfect for a week long vacation. Simple and clean furnishings, well equipped kitchen, and all the necessities included. We particularly appreciated the beautiful beach and the fabulous sunsets from the second floor deck!

Superlative!

  • 5 of 5

Our five-star review of Conch Cottage actually begins before our departure from the States. TWO DAYS before our intended departure, we discovered Conch Cottage on VRBO. Denise responded promptly to our inquiry, and made it happen within that short time frame.

From our first contact with Denise, she was instantly available by email and even text, and ready to answer every single question we had. At one point, she was sending information while she was on a layover between flights. The information she provided was spot-on, and left us with no surprises. Absolute white-glove treatment from start to finish.

Now to the cottage itself. We were traveling for our anniversary, and when we arrived, Denise had provided a bottle of champagne in the refrigerator. I have nothing much to add to what other guests have said about the house itself. It was spotless, open, bright, and really, truly right on the beach. We spent hours relaxing on the porch.

Keep in mind, North Caicos is not your resort island. It's VERY quiet, very private, and not developed in the sense of having resorts and such. No Zagat rated restaurants, no fine shopping, etc. You are going there for the privilege of walking a mile on a beach without seeing anyone, or to sit on your porch with a good book.

It may take the city-dweller a moment to adjust to the isolation ("is it safe staying all the way out here" you may wonder for about a day or so, before you laugh at yourself for worrying). The grocery stores are not what you're used to at home -- and Denise will warn you -- but in truth I thought we were able to find pretty much everything we needed. In that regard, we found the grocery store right across from the villa was the best stocked.

Denise advised us to pack light. We should have listened. It really is all casual, all the time, everyone on the island. Unless you're traveling to Provo for something, you don't to bring dress-up clothes. We could have gone with one suitcase.

With these things in mind, it seems that this vacation is more for the couple who wants to get away. I don't know that I'd bring kids, but who knows. Don't plan to hop back and forth to Provo, unless you're okay with repeatedly paying $50/person for the ferry (each way), plus $40/person to get to the ferry, plus a rental car or taxi on Provo.

We happened to be there during a windy week. That meant no mosquitoes at all. I think they're around though, so be prepared.

You won't to leave.

Conch Cottage is paradise found!

  • 5 of 5

Conch Cottage is truly paradise found! The tranquillity of North Caicos and the turquoise waters at your doorstep make for a wonderful stay. The owners make getting to Conch Cottage easy with very nice people who will pick you up at the airport, get you to the ferry and meet you on the island.

Conch Cottage is very well equiped. From beach chairs, floats and towels to everything one would need in in the kitchen. When we were not swimming, snorkeling or walking the beach we sat in the gazabo or on the porch and listened to the breeze in the palms or read until we were back to the beach. At night, the upper porch was delightful for star-gazing. If you tire of the serenity,Provo is a quick ferry trip away. We did go over for the day because we wanted to socialize a Potcake puppy and pick up some souvenirs. We rented a car so we could also see Middle Caicos and drive to all the amazing beaches on the islands.

Conch Cottage is a wonderful house to vacation. We would like to go back when the humpback whales are migrating. The owner is wonderful to work with and helpful every step of the island adventure!

We just got back from Conch Cottage. Really enjoyed Turks and Caicos but were very disappointed in the quality of the beach in front of this house. The pictures are a total scam. Wish I could post some here (am reporting owner to VRBO). The beach is just as rocky as I've seen in New England or the Pacific Northwest. Nothing like what is shown. One of our family members has a disability and needs to walk on flat surfaces. He could hardly get to the beach. Even those of us who are able bodied had a hard time climbing over the rocks. The owner did send a crew to clear a path to the beach but it was nowhere like what is shown in this advertisement. We got a car so were able to make the most of it by driving to other beaches. Highly recommend Bambarra Beach.

As for the house, the loft was way too hot even with the A/C so it's kind of dead space. The other beds were mediocre. The owner also recommend a taxi service that was incredibly unreliable (Virgil's Taxi). We scheduled 4 trips. The first was fine. The second he sent a surrogate 30 minutes late and we almost missed the ferry. The third time he did not show up and we even called him--no answer. Didn't even try for the 4th trip. I'd advise you go with a different driver.

It is unfortunate to complain like this, but wish I could have read this before booking Conch Cottage. We stayed a couple of nights at the Alexandra in Provo. The 2 bedroom suite is amazing there.

Owner's Response: I'm glad you enjoyed TCI & the house. I'm sorry that you didn't care for the beach in front of the house. Unfortunately in June it gets rocky. It's a natural beach affected by storms, tides, & sand movement. The beach never looks the same day to day. I update the photos each time I visit & none of them are altered. Conch Cottage is for guests who want to get away from crowds & enjoy the privacy of their own oceanfront house. Apparently this was not the type of vacation you were looking for. When you called saying you had missed your flight & wouldn't arrive until 8 I quickly found 6 great priced beautiful beachfront hotels. You told me this was my mistake because it was gorgeous. Well, that is the type of person I am. I wouldn't suggest a horrible hotel. I would make sure you had the best vacation possible no matter what. I even gave you an extra night for the 1 missed. Unfortunately for this review you preferred the resort beach. I wish you would have read my 5* reviews - they mention the summer rocks. You didn't tell me prior to arrival that your son has a disability & needs to walk on flat surfaces. If so I would have told you that this is not the house for you. My husband is handicapped with leg & heart issues, but still can climb down the 3- 4 ft stone path to get to the water. This location is not suitable for someone needing flat surfaces. After your phone call at 10:30 pm a path was cleared by noon the next day wide & smooth enough for a wheelchair. I was trying to discuss other options with you before you hung up on me. I'm glad you were able to enjoy the other beaches on the island. There are so many that you are not limited to the one right in front of the house. The loft is warmer in the summer, but I would have put out the fans if I knew you were using it. Some prefer the warmer area when the rest of the house is ice cold. The loft bed is a pull out sofa & they are not as comfortable as a standard bed. The taxis in TCI are not the most reliable & that is why I recommend Virgil. He is very reliable & in high demand. Because of that he was not able to personally handle your schedule changes. I'm glad you enjoyed the Alexandra. It normally charges $850-$1510/night. Conch Cottage is a wonderful HOUSE on the beach with all the amenities a house provides. It's large & spacious with amazing ocean views. It's very private - no crowds. The beach is natural & steps from the door. I have many returning guests who enjoy it!
