Three story house with all of the comforts of home, while you vacation at the shore. The cottage is operated and rented by Lafayette's Oceanfront Resort at Wells Beach, so you experience the luxury of a large resort, while enjoying a private residence. Registered vacationers of the cottage will have use of the indoor heated pool, a 20-foot long hot tub with a waterfall, a fitness room as well as computers with internet access in the lobby.
The location of the property is on Oxcart lane, a dead end street that promises the tranquility Maine’s coastal area is known to offer. Only a 4 minute walk to the beach through a private way, the cottage offers an outdoor shower with hot water for rinsing.
The first floor of the cottage is comprised of two rooms, a washer and dryer and a half bathroom. The living room is located in the rear part of the house, which has a pull out couch, 42” LCD HDTV and a sliding glass door with access to the rear patio. In the front, you will find a beautiful kitchen with granite counter tops and stainless steel appliances.
The second floor has two bedrooms and a full bathroom with a stand up shower. The front bedroom has two twin beds and a ceiling fan. The bedroom on the back side of the building has one queen bed and overlooks the saltwater marsh area.
The third floor boasts a deck with a view of the harbor, salt water marsh and beyond to the ocean. Off of the deck on the front side, there is a sitting area with a 32' LCD TV and a day bed with a pull out trundle. The master bedroom is located in the back with a queen bed, bathroom with stand up shower and views over looking the salt water marsh.
Historic Wells, Maine continues to be one of the finest family vacation getaways around. Conveniently located approximately an hour and a half from Boston and situated perfectly between the quaint villages of Ogunquit and Kennebunkport, Wells boasts several miles of beautiful coastline that offer something for everyone.
Recreational activities include kayaking, fishing, and sailing. There are miles of both hiking and biking trails located nearby, including the Wells National Estuarine Research Reserve at Laudholm Farm and the Rachel Carson National Wildlife Preserve.
Dining selections include lobster and clam shacks, family-friendly restaurants and fine dining establishments. The area also offers historic sites, lighthouses, antique shops, collectible bookstores, and outlet stores. The Wells Transportation Center is home of the Downeaster Passenger Train by Amtrak that runs from Boston's North Station to Portland. The area is also served by taxis and an in-season trolley service.
