Lovely home on working ranch with expansive views of rural countryside. Ranch has horses, cattle, sheep, chickens, cats & dogs, and real live roosters- so no need for an alarm! But you can always go back to sleep. The home is clean and well-cared for and includes covered porches, washer & dryer, full kitchen, wifi, and all the furnishing that make a house a home. There is a 2 vehicle carport that will keep the hot Texas sun from melting your dash in the summer heat!
There is gated entry and the owners' home shares the property.
I wanted to personally say that we had an amazing time on your property. All of my party enjoyed the dogs…I think one person even “adopted” them for the duration of our stay.
We have rented a lot of houses and this one for sure was one of our favorites. It was so cute and charming. The house was stocked with everything you need plus some. We were treated to fresh eggs and an awesome snack tray when we arrived. The owner Robert and his daughter Brit were so kind and accommodating. We will definitely stay here again.
Thank you Robert, Anna and Brit. Ya'll really made our stay enjoyable. The house was great and it was so nice and quiet. I loved that there was such a variety of books, dvds, and games to choose from. And we loved all of the animals. Olivia cried most of the way to the airport because she missed the dogs! I would definitely recommend your property to anyone looking for a getaway in the area. Hope to come back soon.
We had a wonderful relaxing weekend in the Hummingbird cabin . Bed was extremely comfortable and plenty of towels .Hot tub was amazing . Wonderful sound of crickets and frogs from the small lake . We had an unexpected visitor one night , a sweet Great Dane decided to sleep on the porch , he was a loveable big guy . Nice scenery during the drives into town to grocery shop or to eat .definitely worth the money for a peaceful and quiet getaway . Thanks to Geloria and Jack everything went smoothly and effortlessly.
We enjoyed our stay and love being out in the country. All the necessities to make you feel athat home. The bed were comfortable and we loved all the critters. Look forward to coming back and staying here again.
Upon arrival, we were greeted by Anna and a few of the dogs. When we were unpacking and getting settled in, we noticed they left beverages and fresh eggs for us. It was so nice to feel not just welcomed, but WANTED in their guest home.
There were more than enough towels and sheets for us, plenty of books, movies and games to choose from, and all the dishes and cookware we could have needed.
The location was perfect for us. We got some nice, quiet family time at the house and took short trips to San Antonio one day, Austin another, and Gruene on our way home on the last day. It was a great balance of city life/country life for us. Our 5 year old could just walk out the door and play outside as long as she wanted (not something she can do at home!) and we loved exploring to find the chickens, the horses, watch the ducks, and there were always 3-4 dogs with us, and we just loved them.
One day of our trip, I got a mid-day text from Anna - Robert had made some pulled pork for us and she wanted to know what sides we might like with it. We were just floored at their kindness and generosity. She brought it over for dinner and we were just in heaven. A home-cooked meal on vacation we didn't even have to make!
I would recommend this property to couples, families, or a girl's trip. Anything you could possibly want to do is no more than an hour away, and the house is so comfortable and lacks nothing, so you may not want to leave it at all! We really had a wonderful time.
This was our first time staying here. I just want to say it felt like if we were at home! It was so comfortable and relaxing. Way better than being stuffed in a hotel room. Robert and Anna were very helpful and made it really inviting. We will definitely stay here again!
