Guestbook comments from the owner

Good Morning,

I wanted to personally say that we had an amazing time on your property. All of my party enjoyed the dogs…I think one person even “adopted” them for the duration of our stay.

Quiet place to relax

  • 5 of 5

We really enjoyed our stay. My grandchildren loved visiting the horses and cows and playing with the puppies. It was so nice to have someplace quiet to come home to after our day trips to San Antonio, Waco and Austin. The house had everything we needed for the week and the homemade bread, jam, fresh eggs and brisket were an added bonus. Thank you for sharing your ranch!

Excellent Ranch"home" offering the "best" life has to offer

  • 5 of 5

How do we begin?! Bottom line: WONDERFUL home away from home. It is a true ranch house with the luxury of really being a ranch "HOME". Outstanding host is the best way to describe our host, Robert, who was in touch immediately, and remained in contact and available throughout our stay. On arrival, we had fresh eggs, homemade bread and real butter, brisquet and drinks to spare. The kitchen was well stocked with any kitchen ware and appliances needed to prepare any meal. The dining room was not only the perfect place to enjoy a meal, the "high-rise" table and chairs was perfect for game night with the grandchildren. The living room is just that..... a "living" room with very comfortable furniture to sit on, an inviting atmosphere all around, a TV that worked great for the little time we viewed anything (we were too busy enjoying the scenery provide by the large windows all around the living and dining room areas, and all the games offered). The bed in the master bedroom was the best we ever experienced when away from home. Between the comfortable bed, the quiet of the country and the fresh air, we slept better than we ever have, when away from home. According to our grandchildren, who slept in the 2nd bedroom, the bed was very comfortable. The kindness and generosity of our host was really evident when, advising him in advance of the arrival of 2 of our grandsons, (who would be driving to the property to spend the night with us, in separate vehicles), arrived before we returned to the home. We told them to stand by at the gate as we were 10 minutes away, and would let them in. On arrival, they were nowhere to be seen... because Robert let them in, showed them where to park, gave them a drink and engaged them in conversation while they waited for our arrival. He made 2 additional friends that night. As for the farm animals, the biggest hits for my family (between the cows, bull, chickens, cats, dogs and the rooster) was the dogs and cats. My husband and I's personal favorite was Pearl. We would have loved to take her home. She is just a gently giant. My granddaughter loved all 3 dogs )Pearl, Jessie and Nix and just couldn't get enough of them. I personally liked the bull too... standing so regal, handsome and fierce all at the same time. There is no doubt, we will stay again when we return to visit our children. Thank you Robert for everything!

Quiet Country Setting

  • 5 of 5

This farmhouse was the perfect place for our family as we visited family in the hill country and enjoyed Schlitterbahn and Fiesta Texas. There wasn't anything fancy about it, but it had everything we needed and more. The hosts were over-the-top generous and welcomed us with open arms and plenty of goodies (fresh eggs, bread, and more)! Our youngest daughter had a difficult time leaving the dogs (she fell in love with Pearl) and we all enjoyed the peaceful, quiet country setting. Thank you again for your generosity and we hope to see you in the future!

Robert and his family hospitality was above and beyond. Between the home cooked bread, greats with SUPER friendly dogs and a dozen fresh eggs, was more we can ask for!!! Thanks for housing myself and my closest friends for a relaxing weekend :)

Relaxing, peaceful and really charming owners

  • 5 of 5

We had a blast at your ranch house. Our plans changed a lot when I broke my arm a couple of days before arriving. I was forced to relax in your wonderful house--my husband had really wanted just to relax anyway. Thank goodness the puppies kept the grandkids entertained outside and a few different games kept them entertained inside.

The bread and jam was a big hit with everyone. My husband enjoyed the wine--on my pain meds I did not get to help him. Especially thanks for a few extra eggs after I was trying to scramble eggs by myself and knocked the bowl on the floor. I was banished from the kitchen.

We all are hoping to make plans to come again someday. The grand kids are even going to try and talk their parent into visiting one day.

Thanks for making the last weekend with the kids so wonderful

Close Up of Farm Life

  • 5 of 5

Great hosts and a real opportunity to see farm life close up. Greeted with farm fresh eggs, smoked brisket, and snacks in the refrigerator and a fresh baked loaf of bread on the counter. Got to feed the chickens, ducks and cows and enjoyed the company of the friendly dogs that like to spend time resting under the shade of the porch. Our time there was a mini family reunion and all three generations in attendance enjoyed it fully. Short run to Hill Coutry, Austin, and of course the BBQ capital of the world Lockhart. Hated to leave but even great vacations have to eventually end. Would recommend to any that would find relaxation in the country desirable.
