Why Melissa Cole chose Albuquerque

This property has the feel of being in the country but is minutes away from the westside's 'metro-plex' which is the city's largest retail district with a mall, dozens of restaurants, and major departments stores such as Costco, Kohls, Walmart, etc.

Very Satisfied Customer

  • 4 of 5

The house and adjoining property were exactly as shown on the website...quite impressive. The interior furnishings and décor were more than adequate but one could say a little dated. Very clean. Master bedroom mattress was very comfortable. Not sure about the other two bedrooms as there was only my wife and I.

Great shopping, restaurants and grocery store in the area just a few minutes away. House is located just a few minutes away from I-25 so you can get to different locations quickly. Lots of attractions are just minutes away. Old Town and the two nearby museums are very interesting and the Tram Line up to the ski hill is a must see. I would strongly recommend going to the Acoma Pueblo an hours drive from Albuquerque. Amazing piece of local history.

I would definitely recommend this rental however there is one caveat. If there are more than 2 two people in the party staying at the house (i.e. friends or kids), the living room/dining room is a little on the small side. Only one comfortable sofa to sit on to watch TV in the evenings. No problem for us as there was just the two of us.

Wintry week at the Alameda Guest House.

  • 4 of 5

The Alameda guest house is in an ideal location, really cute, and provided a mostly comfortable stay for us. There were 4 adults in our group and our 9 month old granddaughter. Our biggest issues were: (1)The living room is a little small to comfortably accommodate a group that size.; and the couch is small and uncomfortable to sit on. (2)There is no rug in the living room (which made the tile floors challenging for a 9 month old) and no bath rugs at the sinks in the master bathroom (wintry week = cold floors). (3) It seems the dishes in the kitchen are not being replaced as they break or go missing. There were only 5 dinner plates available...and no small plates (but lots of bowls). However, after citing these few "glitches", we made it work and we did enjoy our stay. I only mentioned these things in the event that they would be really important to other visitors. We had minimal contact with Melissa but when we did, she was very pleasant and accommodating. She provided a lovely crib and high chair for the baby which was greatly appreciated. We would consider staying there again when we visit Albuquerque (hopefully in warmer weather!)

Great Location

  • 5 of 5

The location was perfect for our needs. There were 6 of us representing three generations with the youngest at 8. Grocery stores and restaurants were within a five-ten minute drive. Museums and Old Town ABQ were about twenty minutes away. We went to several museums and if you have kids (ours were 8 and 10), "Explora" is not to be missed. For those that are considering skiing- the Sandia Ski area was less than an hour drive around the mountain.

Being so close to the main estate/house, I was concerned that it wouldn't seem private. However, privacy wasn't an issue at all. The windows of the main house and the guest house are situated such that they don't face one another. In addition, there are three privacy panel/fences that make the entrance area feel like your own private yard, within the gated estate. Our kids went out and played in the snow several times. It felt both safe and private.

The home was very clean. The owners thought of everything and there was good communication between us and the owner from the point of booking through our stay. There was a thoughtfully laid out binder that provided all the details of the home, like how to work the washer dryer, the TVs, and the gate. The kitchen was well stocked with utensils, appliances, and basic spices and large enough for a few people to prepare a meal together. The table was a good size for family games. The 1800 square feet includes a very large master and master bath area which takes up at least a third of the space, but that still left enough space for the rest of us. The other two bedrooms share a bathroom, with it connected to one of them. The second and third bedrooms are split with the kitchen and a hallway between them. The only downside to the home we could find is that the second and third bedrooms and the living/dining area could use additional lighting.

Perfect Home Away from Home

  • 5 of 5

This rental is the best one we have rented for vacation. Perfectly appointed in a fantastic location - especially if you are in town for the Balloon Fiesta. It is not far from Old Town, Balloon Fiesta Park, restaurants, shopping, you name it. We enjoyed the open space that is just a few houses down for walking and biking (using the bikes provided with the rental).

The house and furnishings were exactly as described and pictured. Very clean and everything you could possible need. The complimentary coffee, creamer and sugar was appreciated. The gated aspect of the home made us feel so much more secure and allowed the kids to play outside without having to be constantly watched.

Thanks, Melissa, for a wonderful visit to ABQ! We will be back.

This is definitely a 5-star property and has everything anyone needs to make a trip to Albuquerque more enjoyable. The guest house was super clean, roomy, well appointed, and a very comfortable place to relax. We would stay here again! Thanks to Melissa for being a gracious host.

Fantastic Stay

  • 5 of 5

My two sisters and I stayed here for 3 nights. The beds were amazingly comfortable and everything was absolutely perfect. We loved the space! Everything we needed for coffee, etc., was there and those of you who travel a lot can understand how rare that is. Although this is part of an estate, we felt very secluded and had all the privacy we needed. It was great to have the space to relax comfortably outside, as well. Being three ladies traveling without our husbands, we felt safe and secure since the property is gated. We're looking forward to staying here again in the future!
