|Minimum Stay||4 - 5 nights|
2 bedroom, 1 bathroom, sleeps 4. But we do not rent out to 4 adults. The nicely decorated apartment on a super location in Amsterdam is within walking distance of most famous museums, the city center, shops, bars & restaurants. The apartment is in a quiet neighborhood yet very close to all that is going on in Amsterdam + public transportation! The apartment has all you need to come home to after a day of visiting Amsterdam whether you like to cook a meal or just relax and sleep in a great bed after having enjoyed a great restaurant in Amsterdam.
The master bedroom has a nice comfortable Auping box spring bed. Extra long. The second bedroom is small and only has a good bunk bed and small dresser. Perfect for children. No extra room for a third person or baby cot in there.
If our apartment is not available, I have our upstairs neighbour rent out their nice apartment as well. Just ask me.
Long term rental available. Please contact us.
We're here to offer you a pleasant & relaxing stay in Amsterdam and I am willing to help you with tips & advice.
Emelie - www.thebalthasar.com - purchased this apartment in 2000
It's perfect!! I love staying here myself, I'm sure you will too.
Location, interior decorating, ambiance.
We have been traveling post retirement for 5 years or so and have used VRBO locales quite a bit. This place is great and our first 5 star rating.
Mainly because of the hostess: low key, professional, friendly and organized. The apt. is perfect for a couple, with or without children. It has all the appropriate appliances, a great neighborhood location which is massively quiet and is three blocks from the bus/tram station. The museums are very near by and so are the stores.
We base our choices on these reviews in large part, and so should you.
Close to tram lines for easy access to anywhere. Walk to great parks, museums and several good restaurants. Very clean and comfortable apartment. Classic Amsterdam home. There were no paper towels or garbage bags that we could find, but that was a minor inconvenience. The Nespresso machine was a nice bonus. There is no freezer, but a small fridge for beverages and other miscellaneous items. Bunks were perfect for the kids, and the master bed was large and comfortable. The clothes dryer was a bit confusing, and we could never get are clothes completely dry in the dryer. The introduction to the apartment was great, and we took advantage of the arranged driver to meet us at the airport. Very convenient and easy.
Our family of 4 including 2 teenagers stayed in the apartment for 5 days and loved it. It was clean, had everything we needed for a comfortable stay, and the location couldn't be better. The apartment is central enough to walk everywhere, yet at night it was very quiet and peaceful.
Emilee was a wonderful hostess-she helped arrange a pick up for us from the airport which was very helpful and less expensive than a taxi. She also greeted us at the apartment and was very responsive to all our questions and requests for advice.
We would definitely stay there again.
Emelie's apartment was exactly as described and was clean and well equipped. We used her offer to arrange transport from the airport, which worked really well, even though our flight was delayed. The location is great - quiet at night, close to 2 tram stops (lines 5 and 16) and walking distance of the museum quarter, the Heineken museum, and the Albert Cuyp market.
She sent us a useful list of restaurants in advance - we liked Loetje, which is really close, so useful after a long day's sightseeing.
If you want to visit the Anne Frank house, we strongly recommend booking online in advance - all visits before 3 have to be prebooked now.
Thanks Emelie for a great stay.
We traveled to Amsterdam (wife and 2 kids - ages 3 yrs old and 10 months) and stayed in the apartment for 6 days. Emelie was an excellent host and met us at the apartment. She also arranged for a driver to pick us up at the airport which was very convenient and reliable. The apartment is in a great location. Not in the busiest section of Amsterdam but close enough to walk or jump on a tram. The grocery store was only a short walk as well. It was exactly what we were looking for in a place to stay.
This apartment was perfect for me and my friend during our week-long Amsterdam stay. The location is great as a home base for exploring: it's a 5 minute walk to the museum district, and just few blocks from the tram for other sightseeing trips. There are several cute restaurants nearby for quick meals, and shops for picking up groceries and wine. The apartment itself is lovely - airy, spotlessly clean, nicely decorated, comfortable beds and beautiful linens. Great place to relax after a day of sightseeing. The kitchen had everything we needed and we loved the flowers and wine Emelie left for us. There are 2 bedrooms. One is small, but the single bed was more than big enough for an adult and very comfy. The master bedroom has a luxurious full bed and French doors that opens onto a balcony with a view of the charming courtyard. We also liked the large dining table. Plenty of space for laptop, maps, meals. Finally, Emelie was a great hostess. She met me at the apartment when I arrived and showed me how the appliances worked, and had a useful notebook with instructions and neighborhood tips. She made the entire process of booking, checking in and checking out really easy. She also arranged a driver to meet me at Schiphol, which made getting to the apartment in a jet-lagged state easy and stress-free. My friend and I both used him to go back to the airport - highly recommend you take advantage of this service. Really happy we stayed there and will recommend to friends.
