Overview

About the property

3 bedrooms, 2 baths, sleeps 6

Hale Pali (Cliff House) is a spectacular (non-smoking) OCEANFRONT home overlooking the blue Pacific. We heartily agree with our guests who have enthusiastically stated: 'there is nothing that compares to actually being on the water' - what better way to enjoy the sound of the waves, and the smell of the sea air.

The home is beautifully and tastefully decorated and features teak furniture.

You will love cooking in the fully equipped, Rick Hartman designed, gourmet kitchen.

You can keep cool by taking a dip in our 3,000 gallon 'natural' (unheated) lava-pool or just 'chill' while lounging and sunning yourself on our small private white sand beach, you may also choose to kick back in the comfort of our shaded hammock.

If you need to stay connected you can do so via FREE WIFI.

A perfect day begins while sitting on the sea wall, sipping Kona Coffee, and looking out to sea. You will be amazed by the spectacular “blow-hole” that adds to the OCEANFRONT splendor of our seaside home.

If you are looking for 'off-the-beaten-path relaxation. We think that the serenity you will find here makes the 45 minute drive south from Kona Village very worthwhile.

About Carl Ramsey

Carl and Deborah Ramsey have resided on the Big Island for more than 30 years. They are San Francisco State Alum and moved to the islands from the Bay Area. Carl and Deb are retired after many years of rewarding work counseling in the Hawaii Island public school system (who ever thought up the idea of retirement knew what they were doing!)

Their residence is an 8 1/2 acre farm just up the mountainside from the beach house. Although the crops are not extensive, Deborah does grow some Kona Coffee.

Meeting fascinating guests from all around the planet is the best part of owning and operating Hale Pali, they say. Please come and join them along the beautiful and peaceful south kona coast.

Fantastic

Excellent home with great lanai and sunsets. Good location to go southeast or north on the island. Great beaches and an organic fruit stand and deli within a 15 minute drive. The home owners are very friendly wanting to make sure you have the best experience possible

The home is amazing and you absolutely cannot beat the oceanview.

We saw whales out front of the house. The boys fished, the dipping pool was perfect when hot and the house is perfect. Exactly the week we hoped to have. Mahalo from our family to yours.

Love this property! Stunning ocean view!

  • 5 of 5

The house was fully stocked with anything that you would need. We started out the day with coffee by the ocean, home cooked breakfast on the lanai and finished the day off relaxing and watching the sunset. The lots on either side are empty making it very private. Perfect sunbathing area with the dipping pool. We did not want to leave! We went with another couple and we had plenty of room. Thank you Carl and Deb!

My favorite VRBO so far!

  • 5 of 5

The property is exactly as listed. The house and views were amazing. The kitchen is well stocked, not just with spices, etc... but with condiments and all the dishes and utensils you would need. Everything was in working order and we had absolutely no issues. The furniture and bed were very comfortable. The care and attention to detail prior to arrival throughout our stay was perfect.

Carl was a great host, sadly we never got to meet Deb. Carl even left us a bag of oranges (from his home) one day, the best we've ever had!

The house is located at a great spot on the island to pretty much have a short drive anywhere. There are two grocery stores, one 20 miles north in South Kona and one 10 miles south, both are great and plenty of fruit stands along the way. You will want to grocery shop before arriving as the drive to the house is not something you want to do multiple times a day, but the house and views are SO worth it.

This was the best place to relax and be comfortable, there were a few days we never even left the house. We wish our stay would've been longer and would definitely love to return! Thanks Carl and Deb!
