About the property

7 bedrooms and 3 full bathrooms (both homes) Large home is 5 bedroom and 2 bath

Looking for a home that offers the quality and luxury that provides the ultimate getaway? You have found it, and at a reasonable price!

This spectacular lakefront home features some of the best beach sand on this coast!

NOTE ------ Prices listed for summer rates include second home. Off season pricing does not include second home. When a family rents the big house I will generally not rent the second home to another family (to date I have not).

Enjoy a beach bonfire, drinks on the patio in the shade of a mature maple, or play basketball on the concrete drive out back.

When your outdoor activities are done, come inside for an easy meal prepared in the efficient kitchen then eaten at the dining table with a full view of the water, freighters, and lake activity. Top the day off by watching the sky change as the sun goes down behind you.

The large house offers sleeping for up to 12+ people comfortably situated in 5 bedrooms (2 king, 3 queen, 2 twin), one bedroom downstairs, 4 bedrooms upstairs. The second home has two bedrooms with 3 queen beds (and an extra twin you can put on the floor)

The kitchen and bathrooms are state-of-the-art and feature the latest fixtures. The shower in the master bath is built for 2 and both baths are decorated with granite countertops and ceramic tile.

Having visitors? There is parking for a motor home or RV, up to 40 feet long, at the top of the hill for added guests and available as part of your weekly or 3-day weekend. There is parking for about 10 cars.

Pets are loved but not allowed in this home, keeping it as allergen-free as possible.

If you have jet skis we have a hoist that holds two (you wont have to run to the marina every day).

I do have a second home on the property that can be added to your rental. This is a completely renovated two bedroom home (new furniture, new appliances, new kitchen, bathroom, paint... winter 2013) The home is very nice inside! There is an extra charge for this home - please call me for details as it depends on how many people are staying and what time of year. It is also available to rent by the week - please call me for details and pricing.

I have 30 acres of wooded property with 4 heated hunting blinds set up -if you are interested in hunting or trap shooting please call me to discuss. There is 100++ acres of public land within 5 miles of the property.

After your stay I ask for a quick email letting me know if there is anything we can add to make your next stay more enjoyable. We also keep a variety of books and movies at the home.

I have had a number of requests to have larger groups of single people stay for a long weekend or week.

Please note - for reservations for the summer of 2015 I am only accepting reservations that take both homes (June - July - Aug) the price per week for both homes is $5,000. You will not find two homes 30 yards apart that are nicer in the area!!!

Please no college type parties.

About Frank Mossett

My family purchased this home when we lived out of state, now we live in state and simply don't use it. Rather than selling it we rent it to good people to help offset the expenses of keeping it up.

When we purchased this home it was a very small two bedroom home - as you can see from the pictures we added the second story along with a new kitchen and bath... Our builder Rick Faszczewski continues to update the two homes and keep them in great condition.

In 2014 we completed a $40,000+ remodel to the back house. The tile work on the first floor is amazing! All new furniture on the second floor that has a great deck off the front of the house. Using both homes offers the proximity to enjoy family, however it offers you two homes to enjoy (when enough is enough you can grab a cold beverage and go to the house the loud family member is not in... haha)

Frank Mossett purchased this house in 2003

Why Frank Mossett chose Eastern Michigan

This is one of the few homes that does not sit on a bluff and has a sandy shore beach. We wanted to be close enough to town where we could walk, however we didn't want the noise of living in town.. This house is not a musty smelling nasty cottage that has not been cared for - rather it is very well cared for and will continue to be. No smoking is allowed in or near the house. No pets.

What makes this house unique

The second home makes for a great family gettogether. With the two homes there are seven bedrooms total. There is a huge tree out front this allows you to sit in the shade most of the day or move your chair to the beach to enjoy the sun.

NOTE - I have been having problems with my email and home away, if you don't hear back within a couple hours please text me.

Guestbook comments from the owner

I just wanted to reach out to say thank you for allowing your place for us to stay. I feel like a different person leaving, I needed the peace and relaxation.

Owners note - I get text like this all the time. A few days away to enjoy the lake/hot tub/small town... is a great way to recharge your batteries.

The price is reasonable if you add it to your rental - call me for details as it does depend on the time of year and number of guests staying.

An absolute jewel! Beautiful cottages, beautiful sandy beach. We absolutely loved it!

  • 5 of 5

The two homes on the property are beautifully decorated. You won't find bathroom and kitchen decor like this in most cottages. The beach area is sugar sandy and just a short flat walk out. No hills or bluffs. Fire ring out on the beach is great for night time entertaining. Hot tub on the back porch makes it easy to get comfortable and relax. We'll be back if there are any openings on the 2017 spring/summer/fall schedule.

Fantastic place for a girls weekend!

  • 5 of 5

We had twelve girls get together for our annual weekend and the house was perfect. Beds were comfortable, there was a large couch that held most of us and also a large dining table with a view of the lake that seated all. We also had perfect evening weather for a bonfire and several enjoyed the hot tub. Would certainly recommend this for large groups. There is also another house in back of the main house that sleeps six.

Excellent property and good value

  • 5 of 5

We had a total of 22 people in our group (11 adults and 11 children). We all fit just fine. We brought a couple of air mattresses but didn't need them. Overall, the property is very, very nice. The amenities were perfect and the owner was very helpful in communicating about things to know during our stay. The only gripes that we had were 1) there is no wifi and the cell signal is almost non-existent and 2) there was a pretty bad ant problem in the first floor bedroom. We bought ant traps but they didn't seem to work much.

Owner's Response: Thanks Matt. I'm glad you enjoyed your stay. In regards to the ants this was the first I have heard of them, I will resolve this week. Future renters will not have to worry about it (the first floor bedroom is hardwood). Update - I went out there to check on the bedroom. The cleaning crew had already taken care of the ant problem, however I still had the guy who takes care of the property spray the outside of the house to make sure no one else has that problem.

Great weekend escape!

  • 5 of 5

We visited over the weekend with our 3 families and had so much fun! We had lots of room for sleeping, living, and eating! The kids had so much fun playing outside- throwing rocks in the water, leaves, and the swing set! Then the adults enjoyed the hot tub after bedtime :)

We would recommend not planning to get groceries in one of the nearby small towns - super expensive and minimal selection

We got pizza one night from Oliver's in Lexington and it was very good!

Frank was super responsive and easy to get a hold of -answering all our questions promptly!

Overall we could not imagine a better place to spend the weekend with our families!

Can't wait to go back!
