You may stay with us just a few nights in Rome, but we want to make sure every day of your trip is perfect, wherever you are in our magnificent Italy!
We just wanted to express how much we appreciated your help and Mariano's help.
My mother-in-law used the wheelchair on the days when walking became too difficult. She would not have been able to enjoy the Vatican without it.
Mariano was wonderfully pleasant and very quick to respond to our issues. He had the bed set up for my sister-in-law before we got back on the first night and, when we realized the baby was not sleeping well because the crib did not have the right mattress, he made sure the right one was there for us the next night. He was also very helpful in making sure that we had a vehicle that was large enough for all of us and our luggage.
The apartment was big enough for our two families (4 adults, 5 kids). The apartment was clean and there were lots of towels provided. The apartment also had AC units which was appreciated in the hot July weather. The apartment was central to major Rome attractions so we were able to walk everywhere. Paolo was kind enough to arrange a transfer to the apartment and Mariano the doorman was very welcoming. There is a supermarket just a block away so it was nice to make simple breakfasts and eat in for a few dinners. The best gelato in Rome was right downstairs from the apartment, we recommend the lemon flavour! Our kids loved staying in the apartment as it felt like our second home so we were sad to leave after 5 nights.
I was apprehensive about renting a stranger's home but staying here makes me want to rent more homes like this one for our future adventures.
We stayed at the property owned by Mr. Scimonelli from July 1-July 7 2016.
We found the apartment to be perfect. It was clean and comfortable. We had a large group of people and we all were comfortable. It was so close to all the sites we wanted to see. We were able to walk every where. We especially appreciated the air conditioning as it was mid 90's that week in Rome. The only down side was the dryer was not working but we still were able to do laundry.
We found Mr Scimonelli to be very helpful. He did not get our message regarding the new arrival date and called us to check up on us. He and his doorman were very helpful at suggestions regarding getting around town.
We were close to market, gelato shop, and a pharmacy.
We had a wonderful time in Rome, I have already recommended this place as an option to friends who may be traveling in the future.
I would stay there again if I find myself traveling to Rome again.
Thank you for a great experience
We were very pleased with this apartment; we felt immediately at home ; for our two families it was confortable, nice furnished and well cleaned.
The three bathrooms were very helpful with our teenagers.
The only thing we missed, was a new cafettiera Bialetti, because the ones which are there are very old and should be thrown away. There is a Nespresso machine, but in Italy we love using a Bialetti !
The apartment is very central, between Vaticano and Villa Borghèse, so you almost do everything by foot. As it is near the Tevere, we walked down and up this river with pleasure.
The nice street Cola di Rienzo, near the apartment, is full of boutiques, cafes and supermarket, so it's very practical.
The owner and the doorman are very nice and helpful, they gave us very good advises of restaurants; between them we loved the Trattoria da Luigi and the pizzeria La Francescana.
Finally, I should recommend this apartment, we loved our stay in Rome.
P.S. I should add that the window of the last room doesn't close well at the top, so you ear a lot the noise of the car's during the night; it should be repair.
This apartment is located within a 5 minute walk from where I was born. When bringing my family of 8 to Rome for this visit, I wanted them to experience what Italian living is really like. This apartment was perfect. We all felt like it was our home.
The apartment is located in a great neighborhood. It is within walking distance of the Vaticano, Piazza del Popolo, Piazza Navona, and two convenient Metro stations for access to the Colosseo, not to mention the best gelateria in Rome, La Romana, which is just next door! The owners of pasticceria, Sanzini, just around the corner, were so gracious and their pastries were to die for. The shopping along Via Cola di Rienzo, around the corner as well, is some of the best to be found in Rome. Great selection and prices.
We enjoyed the layout of the apartment. The bedrooms were good sized and the beds were comfortable. The 3 bathrooms were perfect for the eight of us. We found the kitchen to be well equipped and the washer and dryer were a godsend after several days of travel.
Although Paolo was unable to personally meet us, the portiere, Mariano, was very helpful in getting us situated and arranging for transportation to Fiumicino.
Bottom line...wonderful experience, highly recommended.
I lead small groups of college students overseas for study abroad experiences. This was a perfect place to stay for my group of nine people. The location was great. Everything functioned as promised. And the best gelato in Rome was half a block away.
I had a group of my wife, myself, six females and one male. Using curtains, Paulo fixed up a special room for the one boy who was traveling. The six girls stayed in two bedrooms, each with a queen size bed and one with an additional two bunk-beds. When one girl got sick, she was able to crash in the living room, where her coughing didn't keep the others awake. All the students were very happy with the accommodations. The mattress is my room was super soft memory foam, and I slept extremely well.
The apartment also has three bathrooms, which is critical for a large group of female students. There never a concern about running out of hot water or lack of access to showers.
What I liked best was the large table for breakfast and dinner, plus the wonderful kitchen. This allowed us to cook dinners at home some nights, which saved us money we could spend on other things. Paulo recommended two wonderful restaurants nearby, and they proved to be highly economical choices. Beware or restaurants near the Vatican. They cost two or three times as much as the much better meals we had elsewhere.
The elevator was absolutely necessary to two in our party, one of whom had a bad knee. But the students generally took the stairs, even though they had to climb four flights. The doorman was very helpful. Bus lines and the metro were a short walk away, which gave us access to the entire city.
We walked to the Gallerie Borghese, which I don't recommend, and to the Vatican, which I do suggest. The Borghese Gardens are very beautiful, but it was hilly for my walkers with injuries. The walk to the Vatican, however, if flat and easy. One of my students ran all over Rome by himself, dashing to on various evenings to the Trevi Fountain and Colosseum. And the apartment is very close to the running path along the Tiber.
Buses in Rome can be confusing, but Google Maps gave us very good information about how to get from the apartment to any location in Rome. The washer and dryer worked better than any I have encountered on our travels in Europe. And Paolo is an absolute jewel. Thanks to him for what my students are calling the best trip ever
Great apartment! Excellent location, walking distance from major sights, supermarket and shopping district. Spacious and bright.
The only downside was that one bathroom didn't have a shower and overall a bit messy (untidy cupboards in kitchen, sheets in dryer, towels in the corridor and tv in bedroom wasn't plugged).
Apartment Piazza della Liberta is a lovely spacious Rome apartment, ideally located right where the Tiber River meets Piazza Del Popolo,a grand part of Rome, with a great shopping street, cafes, restaurants and supermarkets, right in the neighbourhood and walking distance to all monuments..
