You may stay with us just a few nights in Rome, but we want to make sure every day of your trip is perfect, wherever you are in our magnificent Italy!
We just wanted to express how much we appreciated your help and Mariano's help.
My mother-in-law used the wheelchair on the days when walking became too difficult. She would not have been able to enjoy the Vatican without it.
Mariano was wonderfully pleasant and very quick to respond to our issues. He had the bed set up for my sister-in-law before we got back on the first night and, when we realized the baby was not sleeping well because the crib did not have the right mattress, he made sure the right one was there for us the next night. He was also very helpful in making sure that we had a vehicle that was large enough for all of us and our luggage.
I have used VRBO often and must've admit that sometimes it is a bit of a crapshoot . However, this time everything was just as promised. The apartment is spacious. The bedrooms are comfortable, as are the beds. We easily fit eight people into the apartment without feeling crowded. If one breaks down the cost per person per night, it is a real bargain compared to a hotel. .
Without a doubt, the best feature of the apartment is its location. It is right on the Tiber and walkable to St. Peter's and the Vatican, the pantheon, and Piazza Navona, just to mention a few of the more popular sites .There are many excellent restaurants within walking distance.
There is an on-site porter who helped us get settled in and explain everything to us. I suspect he would be very helpful with restaurants, etc., but since it was a weekend we only saw him the first day we were there .
I would highly recommend this apartment for your stay in Rome
This was a fantastic value - close to everything, and yet not in a touristy neighborhood, and for the very reasonable price you got an incredible amount of space! The apartment had everything we needed, including a very well stocked kitchen. Mariano (the doorman) was very helpful with hints on what to do beyond the standard tourist itinerary and restaurant recommendations which were spot on! We really enjoyed our stay and highly recommend this apartment.
Everything you required for an excellent trip to Rome. Couldn't ask for a better location, facilities and value for money.
We stayed at this apartment for one week in August, 2016. We were 8 people, 5 adults and 3 kids.
The location is wonderful, about 5-7 minutes for Piazza del Popolo and in a nice residential area with good shopping and restaurants. The fantastic gelateria on the corner was a real hit!! Almost everything we wanted to see and do was within walking distance.
We also truly appreciated the responsiveness to our queries and the general helpfulness of the owner Paulo, and doorman Mariano. It definitely made our stay more enjoyable in terms of finding restaurants, orienting ourselves to the city, figuring out what to see and perhaps what to skip. Especially with a larger group, and with children, this was invaluable.
If I were to offer a criticism, it would be the spacing and layout of the apartment itself (which we appreciate is harder to fix). We found having one family meal with our size of group difficult because of the spacing around the main table. The fish tank takes up a lot of room and isn't really nice to look at. Also, the table is in is quite a narrow space to begin with. We were also a little disappointed by the sleeping arrangements. We understood this to be a 4 bedroom apartment but the reality is that it is only 3. There is an additional area that can be used for sleeping off the main living area, but that isn't ideal. The result was that we had 4 people in one of the bedrooms, which we found a little tight. There is also rather limited closet/hanging and drawer space for your own clothes.
On the plus side, there were ample washrooms (3 in total) and air conditioning. That was a definite plus in August! Also the kitchen was well stocked with the main things we needed and all the appliances (with the exception of the clothes dryer) were in good working order. The apartment was clean and generally well-maintained. We certainly did not suffer!
In the end, we enjoyed our stay. I would recommend this apartment and would certainly consider going back.
My family of six 4 adults and two children from Chicago spent five days in a real Roman apartment. We loved the experience and the location of the apartment. The Tiber river is one block away.
It is about a 15 minute walk to the Vatican and maybe a 20 to 25 minute walk to the Trevi fountain. It is as advertised. Two large bedrooms and one smaller bedroom and another section that you can use by using curtains to Use as another sleeping area. There were two ensuite bathrooms. There was a large living room, very nice Satellite tv and good air conditioning. It has a Small kitchen and refrigerator which was adequate for our stay since we ate out most of the time. There was a nice little grocery store two blocks away. We got gelato every night at the corner gelato store. Wonderful!
Plenty of sitting room and eclectic
Lighting and decorations. It is old and comfortable. It is not the Ritz but it was a fun experience that my grandchildren will remember.
Suggestion-a list of local restaurants and how to get to them would have been nice.
The apartment was big enough for our two families (4 adults, 5 kids). The apartment was clean and there were lots of towels provided. The apartment also had AC units which was appreciated in the hot July weather. The apartment was central to major Rome attractions so we were able to walk everywhere. Paolo was kind enough to arrange a transfer to the apartment and Mariano the doorman was very welcoming. There is a supermarket just a block away so it was nice to make simple breakfasts and eat in for a few dinners. The best gelato in Rome was right downstairs from the apartment, we recommend the lemon flavour! Our kids loved staying in the apartment as it felt like our second home so we were sad to leave after 5 nights.
I was apprehensive about renting a stranger's home but staying here makes me want to rent more homes like this one for our future adventures.
Apartment Piazza della Liberta is a lovely spacious Rome apartment, ideally located right where the Tiber River meets Piazza Del Popolo,a grand part of Rome, with a great shopping street, cafes, restaurants and supermarkets, right in the neighbourhood and walking distance to all monuments..
