Beautiful large house and gardens in quiet rural France. Fabulous pool. Very private.
The house is really beautiful. A proper home with quality furnishings. 5 bedrooms. The master suite is very large with an en suite jacuzzi bathroom. Excellent shower. Sometimes not enough hot water to fill the huge jacuzzi. This room is on its own and away from the other 4 rooms all of which have good beds. The upper rooms get very hot in the evenings. There is no air-conditioning and although there are fans they are not enough when really hot.
Lovely large well equipped kitchen dining room. Additional dining area just outside the kitchen. Laundry room with washer and dryer.
Couple of living rooms. Smallish TV. Pretty good wifi.
The swimming pool is spectacular set in an old stone quarry in front of extensive caves.
The garden is sloping but green as automatically watered at night. Covered bbq/outdoor dining area. Plenty of space for kids to run around. Nice table tennis table.
Great garden for star gazing. We saw several glow worms.
All in all a high quality destination which we would all highly recommend.
Thank you Chris for this great review. I am very happy that you and your family enjoyed your stay here. It has indeed been an unusually hot summer so far and I'm sorry fans were not enough to cool bedrooms at night. I hope to welcome you again in the future. Kind regards, Chantal
A beautiful property with an extraordinary garden and pool
The kitchen was well equipped, the beds where comfortable and the pool was a dream - even more fantastic in real then the pictures can tell. Chantal Piazza arranged for us to have a wonderful meal served at the house by the chefs of L´huile sur le feu which is really recommendable. The only drawback was the distance to the bakery and the shops but this was not a big problem. We spent most at our time at the house and had a lovely stay despite some rainy days.
Thank you Charlotte for this great review. I'm very happy that you enjoyed your stay at the property. I felt really sorry about the terrible weather that affected all of Europe that week and I'm glad you were still able to have a good time.
We are indeed 5 kilometers and a five minute drive from Branne, where all the facilities are located, but our guests feel it is a small price to pay to enjoy our peaceful unpolluted environment.
I hope to welcome you again in the future. All the best, Chantal
A Wonderful Stay in this Lovely Bordeaux Home !
We (4 couples) had a wonderful stay in Chantal's lovely Bordeaux holiday home. The house was exactly as described in the posting so no surprises. Chantal was very informative and great to deal with. Her property manager Helen was likewise very helpful and check in / out was efficient. The home is in a beautiful part of the Bordeaux countryside. We rented bikes and the cycling was superb. Chantal suggested a chef (Julie) to cook for us for a couple of nights. Julie was fabulous chef and very personable. The meals were wonderful. I highly recommend doing this. Overall a terrific experience in Chantal's lovely home.
Roy, thank you so much for this review! I am truly very happy that you all enjoyed your stay at our property. I'll pass the message on to Helen and Julie. We hope to have the pleasure to welcome you again in the future. All the best, Chantal

Private and Sophisticated House Near St. Emilion
Beautifully restored stone villa on acreage with total privacy. Nice furnishings and art work. Very well equipped. Well appointed bathrooms. Large kitchen. Comfortable beds with good linens. Fifteen minute drive to St. Emilion.
Thank you very much Stan for this great review. Hope to welcome you again in the future. Cheers, Chantal
Our group of 8 (4 couples) spent 5 nights here. From the beginning, Chantal (the owner) was very responsive with information, etc. Her manager, Helen, welcomed us graciously and provided a thorough overview of the villa and property. There are 4 legitimate bedrooms for couples. The master suite (king) is a half-level up, quite spacious and elegantly appointed. Note that the luxurious bathroom is a short 10 steps away. The ensemble is its own suite. On the second floor, there is an ensuite bedroom (queen), and a second bedroom (queen) with the bathroom across the hall. On the 3rd floor there is bedroom (queen) and a second bedroom with 4 twins). These two bedrooms share a bathroom. All bathrooms are spacious with modern facilities. The large kitchen is well appointed for groups with most modern conveniences. There are two living rooms, one on the same floor as the kitchen, and one a half level up. There is also a 1/2 bath off the kitchen. The villa has a modern electrical architecture with plenty of lighting. The wifi worked well. The property is a lovely 3 acres filled with grass, landscaping, etc. The pool is spectacular! It is set in the bed of an old quarry - most picturesque; heated to the low 80s, and shallow to deep depth - and suitable for laps. Chantal graced us with a supply of coffee, wine, and beer upon arrival, which was most appreciated. We made easy trips into Branne (6 kms) for wonderful bread and pastries, as well as general shopping at the Carrefour. Libourne (for the market) and St. Emilion are only about 12-15 kms away. We also made a day trip into Bordeaux (40 kms - an hour with traffic). The villa is surrounded by vineyards, and we all went for very enjoyable walks on the mostly quiet rural roads. We were very comfortable in this villa, and would definitely return, if we visit this area again. (Tip: get good directions - the villa is secluded and challenging to find; you need a car)
Dear Bud, thank you so much for taking the time to write such a great detailed review! I am glad that you enjoyed your stay at home and hope to welcome you again in the future. Take care, Chantal
Our house is ideally located near Bordeaux and St Emilion's world renowned vineyards, in a stunning environment mixing the mineral landscape of an ancient stone quarry, where we built our award winning heated salt water pool (16m x 4,5m), to the lushness of a 1 hectare landscaped garden. Our area is Bordeaux and Entre-Deux-Mers' world renowned vineyards. If you'd like to take a wine tasting course in either Bordeaux or St Emilion or if you'd like to visit some of the best châteaux and vineyards in the world, then this is the place.
The area is very quiet, green and lush. You'll see vineyards but not only. We have hills and woods and fields...
Our house is hidden at the end of a small earth path, so you're guaranteed privacy and quiet. Next door is an organic farm so you'll be able to buy supremely fresh produce as well as free range eggs, that you will love to cook in our big and fully equipped kitchen (we LOVE to cook so you'll find all kinds of utensils and pots and pans...).
We have spent countless vacations here with friends and family from all over, with ages ranging from 2 to 78, and they've found that there is never enough time to do all the things the area has to offer. You can go hiking, biking, kayaking on gorgeous Dordogne, go wine tasting, spend the day in Bordeaux or a little further, the Bassin d'Arcachon.
Chef service available for big or small occasions.
