Description

Naujan-et-Postiac Farmhouse Rental Photos and Description

5 bedrooms, 4 bathrooms (3 w/bathtub, 1 w/shower), sleeps 12

Our house is ideally located near Bordeaux and St Emilion's world renowned vineyards, in a stunning environment mixing the mineral landscape of an ancient stone quarry, where we built our award winning pool (16m x 4,5m), to the lushness of a 1 hectare landscaped garden. It is a fully renovated 18th century farmhouse that can very comfortably accommodate up to 12 people.

A few facts about the house:

It is roughly 360 sq meters and features:

- 5 bedrooms: 1 master bedroom, 3 bedrooms with double bed plus 1 bedroom with 4 single beds (the 'kids' dorm').

- 4 bathrooms (1 master bath with jacuzzi and Italian shower) plus 3 others with either bathtub or large shower.

- 2 living rooms, one with a working fireplace

- 36sq meters gourmet kitchen with 3 meters long dining table.

- Separate laundry room with washer and dryer.

- Storage room with 2nd refrigerator for large parties.

The garden is 1 hectare and offers 2 terraces, an outdoor patio/kitchen/BBQ area, a pool house with separate shower and toilet, a heated pool (heated in summer only - 16 m x 4.5 m plus a paddling area for toddlers), a large lawn and a kids play area with swings. Maid and cooking services available upon demand. This is our family home so we took great care in furnishing and decorating it. You'll find a mix of antique and modern furniture, family heirlooms and travel souvenirs, which all contribute to a chic but relaxed atmosphere.

Guestbook comments from the owner

The F. and S. families stayed at the villa for 5 days. It was awesome! We saw so many things, most notably six wineries. St Emilion was our favorite town and Chateau Haut Brion and Margaux were our favorite wineries.

But we loved the villa the most!

Outstanding Villa

  • 5 of 5

Our group of 8 (4 couples) spent 5 nights here. From the beginning, Chantal (the owner) was very responsive with information, etc. Her manager, Helen, welcomed us graciously and provided a thorough overview of the villa and property. There are 4 legitimate bedrooms for couples. The master suite (king) is a half-level up, quite spacious and elegantly appointed. Note that the luxurious bathroom is a short 10 steps away. The ensemble is its own suite. On the second floor, there is an ensuite bedroom (queen), and a second bedroom (queen) with the bathroom across the hall. On the 3rd floor there is bedroom (queen) and a second bedroom with 4 twins). These two bedrooms share a bathroom. All bathrooms are spacious with modern facilities. The large kitchen is well appointed for groups with most modern conveniences. There are two living rooms, one on the same floor as the kitchen, and one a half level up. There is also a 1/2 bath off the kitchen. The villa has a modern electrical architecture with plenty of lighting. The wifi worked well. The property is a lovely 3 acres filled with grass, landscaping, etc. The pool is spectacular! It is set in the bed of an old quarry - most picturesque; heated to the low 80s, and shallow to deep depth - and suitable for laps. Chantal graced us with a supply of coffee, wine, and beer upon arrival, which was most appreciated. We made easy trips into Branne (6 kms) for wonderful bread and pastries, as well as general shopping at the Carrefour. Libourne (for the market) and St. Emilion are only about 12-15 kms away. We also made a day trip into Bordeaux (40 kms - an hour with traffic). The villa is surrounded by vineyards, and we all went for very enjoyable walks on the mostly quiet rural roads. We were very comfortable in this villa, and would definitely return, if we visit this area again. (Tip: get good directions - the villa is secluded and challenging to find; you need a car)

Will be back next year

  • 5 of 5

Looking for a vacation house that meets all the requirements for a 3 generation family vacation can be challenging but this was spot on.

The grounds and the house are spacious and the swimming pool is magnificent. The kids could run around all day and play with a variety of equipment already there.

The welcome by Helen was great and we very much loved the great kitchen and the barbecue. This was one of the best family vacations we have had. Already planning for the next year!

Not long enough!

  • 5 of 5

My family and I spent a week at this amazing property. We were 8 adults and 4 children (ages 5-7). The kids had a blast exploring the large grounds of the property. They spent their waking hours at either the playground, cave, pool or, large yard. There were tons of games to keep them engaged all day long.

The house is very well appointed and comfortable. We knew we had found the right house as we pulled into the driveway and caught a glimpse of the amazing kitchen. We took turns each night cooking dinner and enjoying our meals at the outdoor pavilion.

The weather in July was great - warm during the days with cool evenings - we really enjoyed the breezes that swept through the master bedroom.

We hope to return to this lovely region again and this home.

Incredible

  • 5 of 5

The property and personnel involved could not have been more lovely. About as magical a place that exists which I've ever been to. We went with a fairly large group and the house was roomy and well maintained. Chantal and Helen are both incredible and we can't wait to go back!

Sumptuous Villa - worth saving up for a stay here!

  • 5 of 5

Great stay here - we loved staying in a home and enjoyed using all the facilities and equipment there from backgammon to boules. The kids were never bored.

We enjoyed a day trip to arrachon area and the giant sand dune 'pilat'

Our house is ideally located near Bordeaux and St Emilion's world renowned vineyards, in a stunning environment mixing the mineral landscape of an ancient stone quarry, where we built our award winning heated salt water pool (16m x 4,5m), to the lushness of a 1 hectare landscaped garden. Our area is Bordeaux and Entre-Deux-Mers' world renowned vineyards. If you'd like to take a wine tasting course in either Bordeaux or St Emilion or if you'd like to visit some of the best châteaux and vineyards in the world, then this is the place.

The area is very quiet, green and lush. You'll see vineyards but not only. We have hills and woods and fields...

Our house is hidden at the end of a small earth path, so you're guaranteed privacy and quiet. Next door is an organic farm so you'll be able to buy supremely fresh produce as well as free range eggs, that you will love to cook in our big and fully equipped kitchen (we LOVE to cook so you'll find all kinds of utensils and pots and pans...).

We have spent countless vacations here with friends and family from all over, with ages ranging from 2 to 78, and they've found that there is never enough time to do all the things the area has to offer. You can go hiking, biking, kayaking on gorgeous Dordogne, go wine tasting, spend the day in Bordeaux or a little further, the Bassin d'Arcachon.
