Beautifully restored 2 bedroom (plus attic loft) home brings contemporary living to this hidden gem just 2 hours from NYC. We gutted the house completely incorporating modern amenities like a brand new stainless steel kitchen with granite countertops, hardwood bamboo flooring and a large deck to enjoy the view of the pond just steps away. Relax in the living room watching the fire or the 3D flat panel TV or just looking out the picture window to see the fish jumping in the pond right outside the large picture window. Shmooze in the kitchen or at the dining room table just steps from the sliding doors taking you out on the recently built deck to dine al fresco. Walk down the dock just steps from the house to swim in the refreshing pond or use our kayak for a leisurely paddle. Our home is a great place for all seasons; watch the leaves change in fall, the flowers bloom in spring, close to skiiing in winter and lots of water fun in the summer. Not to mention the close proximity to the Berkshires and all it has to offer. 2 hours from NYC makes this an easy drive just to get away after a hard week at work. The house is located directly on Robinson Pond; a 100 acre pond allowing electric motor boats, kayaks, canoes, swimming and fishing. The house is 30 miles from Tanglewood, close to Jacob's Pillow, a short drive to Bash Bish Falls. This location is ideally situated close to NY as well as to the Berkshires plus hiking, skiing and swimming. Close to Catamount and Butternut ski areas..
The home fit all 5 of my guests comfortably. It was centrally located to skiing and was a wonderful home and a very cozy experience
The lake house was wonderful and just perfect for our anniversary weekend getaway from the city. The lake is right outside the door and so pristine and peaceful. We enjoyed cooking meals outside, fire in the fire pit, and exploring the lake in the kayak (there is also a paddleboat!). The fish were definitely jumping, and my husband managed to get a fishing license from the local town hall, but be sure you bring all your equipment as there isn't anywhere nearby to get tackle etc. The kitchen has pretty much everything you need if you like to do a bit of cooking, and you can find plenty of free range meat/poultry as well as freshly picked produce at the many farmstands in the area. We also went biking on the rail trail nearby - lovely! Ilana and Patrick were very responsive and great to deal with. We can't wait to go back next year. .
Had a great fishing weekend. Caught a bunch of largemouth bass. Saw bald eagles and heard the coyote at night. House had everything you needed. It would be a great place in the summer for swimming. bedrooms were comfortable and the loft area would be fun for kids. there's a nice fire pit, and a great propane grill.
We stayed at the cabin for a week and it was perfect. We enjoyed coffee by the lake in the morning and s'mores by the fire pit at night. Our boys went swimming in the lake and used the paddle boat to go exploring. We couldn't have asked for a better place to stay! The cabin was clean, and the owner was available when we had questions. The location was perfect for us. With a little driving we went whitewater rafting in MA(Crabapple rafting), horseback riding (Berkshire Trail Rides) and obstacle coarse and zip lining at Catamount. Wonderful week! We highly recommend this cabin.
Although we could stay only 4 days,we enjoyed the time. The house is neat and cozy and has everything we need; the owner is very welcoming person. We loved the dock , where we could spent time while fishing or swimming. The lake is not big, but we crossed it by the pedal boat that is generously provided by the owner and swam at the local beach.
The place is beautiful and clean. If you like nature and look for tranquil vacation, this is the right destination.
Really nice and enjoyable place! Perfect home vacation! Thanks for everything
The owners were extremely accommodating, the property was beautiful, and in a great location. The space seems much larger than its square footage as they've done an incredible job with the layout. Unfortunately it rained our entire weekend, but we were able to check out the nice quiet beach, and catch a few bluegills fishing. Would absolutely recommend this location for anyone looking for a nice relaxing trip.
Copake is located in Columbia County, two hours North of New York City and three hours West of Boston. We are just 10 miles from Catamount.
Since 1824 neighbors and visitors delight in Copake's scenic valleys, lakes and streams, enhanced still more by the Berkshire Mountains to the East and the Catskills to the West.
