About Gerard and Theresa Michney

Gerard is a self-employed contractor and Theresa is a retired educator. Theresa grew up in this house and attended schools in Lenox.

Gerard and Theresa Michney purchased this house in 2009

Why Gerard and Theresa Michney chose Lenox

This house is Theresa's family house. It was the center of family gatherings where memories remain. We wanted to keep the house in the family and preserve it for future generations.

What makes this house unique

The house has been completely modernized with the latest energy efficient innovations. But we have kept the features that make a house a home and added a wonderful screen porch to enjoy the Berkshire summers.

Charming home, well-equipped terrific kitchen. Comfy beds, screened-in porch.

A/C units in bedrooms and living room, which we never needed.

Convenient location near village, an easy walk

Landlords very helpful. Would definitely return!

Perfect place to stay in the Berkshires

  • 5 of 5

What a perfect place to stay in the Berkshires. A lovely New England home, it is perfectly appointed with a wonderful kitchen and porch. We stayed for a weekend with our adult children for a family wedding and had plenty of space for all. We have rented nearly four dozen apartments and houses over the years, both in this country and in Eastern and Western Europe, and this was a stand-out. We planned to meet at 4:00 PM at the house, and Gerard was there as we pulled into the driveway. He even arranged picture perfect weather. Thanks for the great visit.

Memorial Day weekend in lenox

  • 5 of 5

What can i say that hasn't already been said. The house is a gem. My daughter rain the half marathon in Lenox over Memorial Day weekend and we are so glad we picked this house. The care that went into remodeling was outstanding. Quiet neighborhood...short walk to town. The owners are top notch. If you have a chance to stay in Lenox, this is the house you want to stay in.

Just perfect!

  • 5 of 5

Last October, my husband and I and another couple spent a delightful weekend in these beautiful and comfortable accommodations. While our host, Gerard, was leading us through his home to acquaint us with the layout, features and amenities of the rooms that he so lovingly renovated, all four of us were thinking that his home could be featured in Home and Garden magazine. Each room was neat and clean, clutter-free, well-appointed and uniquely decorated. It was clear that even before the recent renovations, the property had received years of tender, loving care.

The two upstairs bedrooms each included baths en suite, and the spacious showers featured lovely tile work. The heated floors in the bathrooms were a treat, too. Since the accommodations are in a quiet neighborhood, and because the beds are so comfortable, sleep came easily. Although we didn't use the kitchen, it was evident from all the modern appliances and convenient work areas that even the pickiest chef would feel right at home here. It was too cool in October to use the front porch that opens up from the kitchen, but in warmer weather, it would be delightful for dining and just relaxing.

The location was perfect for us. From the house, it's a short walk into town and not much farther to the trail head at Kennedy Park where there are miles of hiking trails. Many cultural, historical and botanical sights in the area are just a short drive from Lenox, so it was easy to visit all of them on our list.

We would definitely stay at this lovely home again.

TERRIFIC HOUSE WITH EVERY AMENITY

  • 5 of 5

The house was terrific and had every conceivable amenity. We appreciated all the renovations you folks did. A little different than we might have done it, but everything was well thought out & very tasteful. As a Realtor, I've seen enough houses to know good rehabs from bad ones, and this is one very, very good rehabbed house. Excellent lighting throughout, nice modren kitchen, great showers in both master baths, comfy beds and lots of fluffy towels.

We loved The Berkshires and had a great time that week. The weather was odd for mid-October with lots of cloudy days and a little rain, but at least it was warm. It didn't prevent us from doing all the touristy things -- Clark Art Institute in Williamstown, Norman Rockwell Museum, The Mount (Edith Wharton's home), and the Hancock Shaker Museum. Plus, lots of walking and some nice light hiking. A perfect time of year for outdoor activities.

And we found some surprisingly good restauarants, although not in Lenox, where they seem to be small, crowded & overpriced. Our favorites were all in Pittsfield -- Mazzeo's for Italian, Patrick's Pub and Arrizona Pizza.

We would highly recommend your lovely vacation home to anyone who wants excellent, modern accommodations in a quiet, centrally located Berkshires location.
