About Sandy

My husband and I met while going to school in Mariposa, got married 37 years ago, had 2 children who were born and raised here and now we have two grandchildren. We love living in the country and the privacy of our home.

Sandy purchased this house in 1986

Why Sandy chose Yosemite Area

Having a vacation rental here in Midpines is one of the closest places you can get, with traveling distance to Yosemite National Park. The town of Mariposa has so many things to offer, we enjoy the small town atmosphere.

What makes this house unique

Sitting on the deck in the morning and watching the sun come up while enjoying a cup of coffee is so serene, then sitting on the pool deck watching the kids play in the pool.

Guestbook comments from the manager

Thank you for all the goodies in the kitchen- all the spices and coffee and special extras, that was nice. We enjoyed the quiet, the hot tub and pool. The scent of the forest and especially the deer and the birds. Such a lovely setting! The cooler really worked great for our picnics and our grocery shopping, so glad you had it here. (wonderful that you thought of it). We appreciated the wifi so we could upload photos and use our computers. Thank you for the hospitality, glad we got to chat the other day.

Very cute and cozy place!

  • 5 of 5

My husband and I booked this cabin literally the day before our stay. The other cabin that we originally rented was by the 41 was closed down due to the rain causing damage to the roads. Sandy was very quick at replying though email and helpful. We got our deposit back fairly quickly. The cabin was cute, cozy and perfect for our family of 5. My boys had so much fun running around the property. There's a lot of open space and lots of cute details. The cabin was very clean with plenty of towels, and kitchen ware. I was impressed that there was a rice cooker as we are Asian and need to eat rice everyday. Two of the bedrooms had heaters and I wish that the third did too. There's instant hot water when you turn on the faucet and my husband enjoyed the shower with the two shower heads. Though it was too cold for the pool and spa, we'll definitely be back for the summer. Thank you Sandy for a wonderful stay! It's a great spot to stay on the way to Yosemite.

A lovely family home in a quiet countryside location near Yosemite National Park

  • 4 of 5

We are a family of four and found this home in Midpines to be an ideal location for our exploration of the nearby Yosemite National Park. There is plenty of space in the home to accommodate a larger group than ourselves and the outside hot tub and pool are an excellent way to finish a day's hiking in the park. The home catered for every family need with a well stocked kitchen full of utensils etc. We also had regular visitors in the garden such as deer, a horse and a family of turkeys. We had a lovely four days at Midpines and would recommend this home to anyone looking for a quiet rural break.

Filled the needs of two families

  • 4 of 5

We have been traveling with another family for over 10 years with a National Park as the distination each year. For a total of 4 adults and 5 kids, it can be hard to find a place. This seemed to work well. The cabin is a little dated, but everything seemed to work fine. We don't pick a place for the stay itself, but for its location. And that seemed to be the best part. It was tucked away from everything well enough that we had quiet nights. Close enough to town that groceries weren't a problem. And unless your staying in the park, you couldn't be any closer. FYI, if you stayed in the park, you are not getting any peace. Yosemite is packed.

Great place but smells bad.

  • 3 of 5

The property is great, the location is great but the detail in the cleaning not so good, and the worst part of it: smells bad, my wife says that is the old wood in the house (which may be true), but they need to do something urgently, I can't stand it, mainly the closets and drawers, had to buy an ambient deodorant and not to use the closets and drawers. If they fix this problem, I can't think in a better property, it has everything and more. It is obvious that the owners make a great effort to have all a guest may need. There are lovely wild life visitors making it even more pleasant.
