The apartment is located on the first floor of the Palazzo Bellini delle Stelle with roof overhead, only a 10 minutes walk from the Duomo and Piazza della Repubblica.
This beautiful Palazzo was built in the 16th Century by Cosimo 1st the Medici and it was also the laboratory of the sculptor Giambologna from 1600 to 1608.
The apartment has now been restructured to its Renaissance splendour and is available to rent for weekly or longer periods. It's composed of a completely frescoed salon sitting more than 15 people, a dining room, modern kitchen , a master bedroom and a second twin bedded room.
Giulio was a wonderful host and just staying in the apartment itself would have qualified as a nice vacation! Don't hesitate to discuss your plans with Giulio he'll give you valuable advise and offer sublime alternatives to the ordinary.

Florence was at 105 degrees fahrenheit when we stayed. Giulio made us feel very welcome, took us (husband, myself our 18 and 15 yr old daughters) to a lovely lunch and gave us some great pointers about restaurants, sites etc. The apartment was cooled and comfortable. The frescos gorgeous. Would happily stay there again.
We had the best time staying there. It fully functional and beautiful. It has everything you need and is in the best location! There is an outdoor porch that we occasionally had a drink on. We cooked in the very functional kitchen and the central location allowed us to shop at the market daily if so desired.
The apartment is really a work of art itself and yet is totally live-able. The location is perfect.
Giulio - the owner met us upon arrival and gave us a little walking tour of Florence which was totally key to our stay. He showed us where to shop eat and go! He was most gracious and helpful!!
We would definitely go back and highly recommend the apartment for anyone staying in Florence. It could not have been better!
Giulio was also gracious enough to escort is to the countryside and see his beautiful vineyard! He taught us how to cook a few dishes and even how to make limoncello!
Wonderful place to stay - we will definitely return.
It has air conditioning, good kitchen 2 full bathrooms and one half. Easily sleeps 4 could do more.
Lovely lovely place.
From the moment that I received a reply from Giulio about his rental property, it was clear that this was going to be more than the typical holiday rental. He arranged to meet us at the property and since I was ill and needed to take to my bed, he explained everything to my husband and took him on a neighborhood tour. He called later that day and the following day to ensure that we were finding everything that we needed. On our final day, he and his wife allowed us to store our bags in her shop's storage area so that we could take them to lunch. Unfortunately, they are VERY busy individuals, so it was a bit difficult for them to enjoy the meal, but we are greatful for their kind hospitality in a home of generous proportions and historical interest. If you are seeking a unique opportunity to stay in a glorious apartment, look no further. Book now for an amazing holiday in Firenza.
Absolutely an incredible dream to stay at Palazzo Bellini dell Stella. It is as beautiful as the pictures. The apartment was the perfect place for my husband and I to meet our children who were studying abroad in Europe. The location was ideal--a convenient walking distance to all the major attractions--the Duomo, Accademia, and Uffizi Gallery. It is a 30 min taxi drive from the airport and 20 min walk to the train/bus station.
Giulio promptly answered all my emails when booking the reservation and was attentive to communicating up until the time of our departure to Florence. Upon our arrival, he was the quintessential gentleman and wonderful host. He welcomed us at the door, fully explained the workings of the apartment. To celebrate our family gathering in Italy, he was gracious to provide us with a bottle of wine as well as a bowl of local oranges and bottled water. He then took us on a guided tour of the neighborhood to show us a grocery store, outdoor market, as well as restaurants and cafes that he recommended for our stay.
The apartment was spacious and impeccable. The salon was beautifully furnished to accentuate the splendid fresco ceiling. We enjoyed just sitting in the salon to marvel at the gorgeous painting. The master bedroom was beautifully decorated with a landscape fresco, 2 large armoires, chest and a comfortable bed. Attached to the room was a library that we used to place our luggage as well as a convenient dressing room. The master bathroom was appointed with 2 pedestal sinks, soaking tub as well as a dressing table. Our children enjoyed staying in the twin bedroom that had cozy beds and a painted armoire. Their bathroom had a pedestal sink and shower. Another guest bathroom was located down the hallway. A sweet surprise was a lovely balcony overlooking the courtyard, a perfect place to enjoy morning coffee or a bottle of wine.
The kitchen was modern, very clean, organized with all the necessities that you would need for a week or an extended stay. The gorgeous dinning room had books of Florence and local maps, a tv and modem for wifi. Up the spiral staircase was a study.
The location was perfect for us to take day trip excursions to Siena, San Gimignano, Pisa and Cinque Terre.
We felt like we stayed in a five star hotel. Giulio made the trip more memorable as a considerate host who made us feel like family. We definitely plan to return and will highly recommend this apartment to our family and friends.
Our initial impressions of domed salon was "wow" ... even more beautiful than the pictures in the listing. The soaring ceilings and meticulous artistry made us feel like we were living in a museum. The apartment was very spacious and clean and really enhanced our overall feel of staying in Florence. The beds were very comfortable and provided us a good night's rest every evening. The dining room has a large table which was perfect for our light meals and playing board games. The kitchen is well equipped and has all the basics we needed throughout our stay (though no microwave oven -- which we did not miss). The bathrooms were also spacious and meticulously clean which we appreciated. The apartment is situated in an excellent location and central to everything. We literally walked everywhere during our stay at the apartment -- Uffizi museum, Duomo, Pont Vecchio, fine restaurants, coffee shops, grocery store (Conad's is 3 blocks away).
Guilio was away when we first arrived at the apartment, so his daughter Rossella met us instead. She gave us a walkthrough of the apartment and explained how everything worked -- very helpful. After she left we struggled a bit with the WiFi and she came to help us with the configuration. Furthermore, Guilio was very helpful throughout the period leading up to our arrival and during our stay. In particular, he made reservations for us at restaurants we wanted to try and ordered the taxicab for us the morning of our departure. We don't speak italian so this was very convenient for us. Overall, Guilio and Rossella provide excellent and friendly service throughout our stay.
When we come back to Florence in the future we are definitely going to plan ahead and try to reserve this beautiful apartment again. It was such a lovely and memorable stay for our entire family of four (including 2 teenage daughters).
The apartment is in a fantastic central position: There is the Sant' Ambrogio market only 5 minutes walk away where where you can find all what you need, specially fresh produce and Tuscany cheeses and bread.
All around the building are available cozy bars , restaurants and trattorias. Piazza Santa Corce in only 5 minutes walk away. if you have a car there is an authorized parking nearby
