My family (Mother, teen kids and aunts/uncle) enjoyed our stay at this beautiful home. Plenty of room to spread out but also great common areas as well. We enjoyed visiting in the large living room and the pretty deck overlooking a pretty wooded area. The house is a really quick and easy walk to the Marketplace, but pretty far walk to the beach. My kids and I did it, but the older folks had to drive or be dropped off. We drove one day to South Cape State Beach, but we liked the Popponesset beach much better!
The owner is super responsive and friendly. The house had most of the amenities that you would need, but we never found a coffee maker or toaster. We ended up just walking up to the Marketplace for coffee so it wasn't a big deal. I would definitely recommend this house!
The home is clean and well maintained. The owner is accessible for questions. The location is walking distance to the Marketplace where the shops are inviting and unique. The Raw Bar lobster roll is a must!
As in all of New Seabury, cell reception is slim.
Clean, comfortable, relaxing home backing to woods, close to walking paths, Marketplace, The Lure and area beaches. Owner also very responsive and provided good detailed information about the home and area.
My husband and I, our toddler and my parents rented this property for a week and we were extremely happy with the property and the location. The layout of the house allowed for my parents to enjoy privacy and comfort in the downstairs master suite while my husband and I were very comfortable with our son upstairs (queen bedroom / kid's bedroom, open loft area and bathroom). We were able to have a combined vacation without feeling crowded. We enjoyed the tranquility of the large back deck. The trails in New Seabury offered an easy 5 min walk to the market and great jogging routes for exercise. We drove 10 minutes and parked at South Cape Beach for family beach days. We did pay for parking each day but it was reasonable for the ease of porting lots of beach gear. My parents have a state beach pass (free for folks over 65) so they parked for free. Parking passes let you come and go all day. The beach was very clean and sandy although the waves were pretty strong most days. While we had to really keep a good hold on my son, we spent all day in the water. That beach worked great for us. Other local activities that were easy to coordinate: Cape Cod Children's Museum (great for ages 2-5), Mashpee Commons shopping and lots of local golfing options. The local library has a great children's room and we found an elementary school ~15 minutes down the road that had a great playground. The area offers many restaurant opportunities but we mostly used the kitchen amenities to cook/grill. Grocery stores are easy to get to so keeping the kitchen stocked was easy. The house was comfortable and easy to live in; owners were very easy to work with. We would be happy to repeat as renters!
We had a fun week in this home. Very clean and easy to get around. Tranquil setting. Owner's very accommodating. Nice restaurant's and shopping in Mashpee Commons
Our family with my husband and me, our two young girls, and my parents spent a blissful week here last summer. The home was spotless and well-maintained, and there was plenty of room for everyone. The master and large upstairs bedroom were perfect for us and my parents, and the girls loved the bunk beds in the kids room. The living and family rooms were great for relaxing, and the deck had a beautiful view to enjoy after cooking dinner on the large Weber grill. It was so convenient to be able to walk to the Marketplace (5 minutes along a wooded path across the street) for lunch or dinner, evening ice-cream, or mini golf. Bob's Seafood Cafe and the Raw Bar were favorites with everyone, and the girls had a great time dancing around with all the other kids when they had outdoor concerts on the weekend. There is also a small shop there for renting bikes at decent rates. The beaches were fantastic - we alternated walking to the Spit and driving to South Cape beach (we figured out that there's free public parking in an unmarked lot just outside the entrance to the State Beach). The owners were really helpful with providing information and answering questions. Overall, this was the perfect place for a family vacation, and we can't wait to go back next summer!
New Seabury is a beautiful seaside resort community with miles of pristine beach and trails for walking, jogging and biking. The famous New Seabury Raw Bar and its lobster roll, as well as Emack and Bolio's ice cream shop and many other dining options, are available at the Popponesset Marketplace. Mashpee Commons, an upscale shopping center (stores include Gap, Williams and Sonoma, Talbot, CVS, Starbuck's), supermarkets (Roche Brothers, Stop and Shop) and a diverse selection of restaurants are all just a short drive away for all of your vacation needs. Day trips to Nantucket or Martha's Vineyard are accessible by ferry (~1 hour) from the neighboring towns of Falmouth or Hyannis (~10 miles). The Cape Cod Children's Museum is less than a mile away, providing entertainment for children when they need a break from the sand and the beach. Mashpee and neighboring towns offer a number of public golf courses. The area also provides a magnificent locale for road or mountain biking with many quiet roads and off-road paths to enjoy picturesque Cape scenery and views of harbors and sea. The Upper Cape is also a wonderful setting for kayaking along the shore or through salt-water ponds and marshes.
