Comfortably sleeps 12 people in beds. Full sun facing backyard, where you can entertain your family and friends, barbecuing, relaxing in the hot tub, roasting marshmallows in the gas fire pit while surrounded by beautiful mature tropical landscaping.
The best location in town. 1 1/2 blocks to beach. two miles to the Boardwalk, Close to Wharf, Downtown, Derby park, across the street from Natural Bridges State Beach Park. (famous for thousands of monarch butterflies). There is a two mile walking/bike path along the ocean called 'West Cliff" down the street.
Let the good times begin, with the large collection of beach gear & sports equipment in the garage. No need to lug around your baby gear. I have it all at the house. (see photo)
Located in a small quiet court which is safer for children, quieter and more private than ocean front homes which have cars and people constantly going by. Plenty of parking.
Very well stocked kitchen with top of the line appliances. Large living room with vaulted ceilings, 8 seat dining table, & huge couch. Very spacious inside. Large HD flat screen TV in living room and master bedroom. Personal WIFI in house and yard. Redwood Outdoor table. Game table and gas fireplace in the family room.
The house is very safe with smoke detectors, carbon monoxide alarm and fire extinguisher. Everything in the home is well maintained and up to code.
I personally go to the vacation home between guests to insure it's in top shape. I want to give you the ultimate vacation home experience! If you compare my rates and fees to similar quality rentals you will find mine are a better deal.
Check out the swift st. courtyard http://weekenddelsol.com/westside-santa-cruz/ fine dining, wine tasting and The Santa Cruz Mountain brewery where the locals hang out. Only minutes away.
There are always fun events happing in santa cruz http://www.santacruz.org/events/?evtid=8418
I grew up in Cupertino and moved to Santa Cruz in 1994 after graduating with a business degree from Western State Colorado University. I was attracted to Santa Cruz because its a fun town and has a lot to offer such as world class surfing, mountain biking, great live music and of course the beach and redwoods. I lived in the beach rental for 15 years and loved it. I wanted more of the country life style so I moved 15 min away to Bonny Doon in the Santa Cruz mountains on some acreage with my family.
Katie Weld purchased this house in 1997
The location of this property is perfect. It's close to the beach. You can walk across the street into Natural Bridges State Park & hike/bike nature trails at Wilder ranch. In the fall you see thousands of Monarch Butterfly's, some fly around in the backyard. It's close Highway 1 North which is surrounded by undeveloped landscape with nice beaches, surf breaks and dramatic cliff's that overlook the ocean. It's one of the most beautiful drives in the world.
The backyard faces south. It gets full sun. The neighborhood is not congested like Eastside Santa Cruz and Live Oak. You can park your car at any hour and not have to worry about finding a parking spot. The back yard is perfect for a family gathering. BBQ, Relax in the hot tub, gather around the gas fire pit at night while surrounded by mature tropical landscaping.
The subzero fridge in the kitchen is very large and will hold your big Costco shopping sprees. The Viking range and oven is very solid and will meet you cooking needs.
I offer more beach gear, sports equipment and baby items for your use than most other rentals. For children there is a two high chairs, Bob stroller, car seats, pack and play, childrens bikes/helmets, booster seat, sand toys, beach wagon, baby gates and a child bike carrier. For the beach, Surf boards, body boards, bikes, coolers, beach chairs, umbrella
Had a fantastic time at Geoff's Ultimate Beach House. Stayed there with my family while our house's bathroom was being remodeled on the other side of the hill. It was great to experience living on the coast for a few days. Thanks Geoff and your family for such a nice place.
We had a wonderful time staying at this spacious and very comfortable home. It was a nice walk to the beach - we saw lots of dolphins, which was a real treat. The beds were very comfortable and the yard and hot tub were good gathering spots for friends and family who were visiting for a wedding. Lunch at Kelly's Bakery was a treat, as always. And we were lucky to have perfect weather. The owners were always responsive and helpful - a good choice for our stay!
We loved our stay.
- Great location. In a quite cul de sac, walking distance to Natural Bridges and the bike/walking path along the water. Also close to Venus spirits, wineries, breweries, restaurants, Kelly's bakery. Not a far drive to the Boardwalk.
- Nice layout. Three bedrooms were upstairs and one was downstairs. The living area is nice and open. The kitchen had plenty of counter space and a nice large fridge and separate freezers.
- Loved having 3 full bathrooms.
- Amenities for kids. We loved the high chairs, bikes, and sand toys for the kids. The gates for the stairs were also perfect to block our 9 month old from them and keep our 3 year old from falling down.
- Hot tub was perfect.
- Outdoor area was nice.
I rented the bungalow for my sister's bachelorette party, and it turned out better than I could have hoped. It was a block from the ocean, and conveniently within 2-3 miles of downtown and local restaurants. The house was clean and inviting, with ample space and linens. The fire pit and hot tub were simple to operate. I would definitely recommend this house if you're looking to host a larger gathering, to help offset cost. It was worth every penny to me.
We were a group of 4 families with small kids, so we had 8 adults and 7 kids under 4 years old. We had originally planned on camping that weekend, but switched to renting a house when the forecast showed lots of rain. The house is well set up for small kids - baby gates for the bottom and top of the stairs, 2 high chairs, balls, beach toys, ... The yard has a baby swing and an awesome tree fort that the kids loved. The house is on a low-traffic cul-de-sac, so kids could puddle jump in the street with supervision. All the bedrooms had enough space for us to make little kid "beds" on the floor or in the walk-in closets.
The kitchen is good for cooking group meals, and there was a big gas grill, which was perfect for us. We filled growlers at the nearby Santa Cruz Mountain Brewery, and felt almost like we were at the bar. We did a Costco trip on the way in, and then a couple Safeway trips for other items - the store is only a 5-min drive. The outdoor space was beautiful and environmentally friendly. We didn't get to enjoy the deck/patio as much as we might have with clear weather, but the hot tub was great! Inside there's a huge couch and a big dinner table.
The beach is a short walk - even for three year olds. The Seymour Marine Discovery Center is a 5-min drive.
A few things in the kitchen could have been better - knives were very dull, pots didn't have lids, there was only one baking sheet, no ice cube tray or ice-maker. We needed to buy everything from dishwasher detergent to aluminum foil to salt, but that may depend on the previous renters. We would have liked to have more wine glasses and beer glasses, but there were plenty of coffee mugs, so we made it work. There were plenty of plates and silverware.
We'd happily come back, but just pack more cooking gear.
The house is kept in great condition, and having bikes to ride during the stay was really great. It's a 30 minute ride to the pier/boardwalk, and the science center is close in the other direction. Not to mention the beach being at the end of the street!
The owner responds extremely fast to messages and is very helpful. Thanks for letting us stay in your house, Geoff!
The only negative things I have to say are that the pots/pans and general cooking equipment is below average from what I've come to expect in other VRBO rentals, and the kitchen knives were extremely dull - next time I'll bring my own.
Wonderful stay! Location to the beach and grocery store was excellent! The house accommodated 15 family members very comfortably...they came for our daughter's wedding. We had a personal chef/friend/groomsman that spent two days preparing the rehearsal dinner...kitchen was awesome!!!...chef loved the sub-zero fridge and Wolf range. We ended up with 50 guests and family members that attended the dinner (wasn't planning on that many) but with a few extra tables in the backyard and the seating in the house house it accommodated everyone just fine. Too busy to use the goodies provided in the garage but there is certainly lots to choose from! The fire pit and hot tub was definitely a plus...very enjoyable in the evening! We would highly recommend this home for any occasion and we will be coming back for a relaxing vacation in Santa Cruz! Thank you, Geoff for a wonderful stay and making it so easy to check in and enjoy! This was our first experience with VRBO and we highly recommend booking this home for a stay in Santa Cruz especially with a large group!
Across the street from Natural Bridges State Beach Park. Westcliff is a 5 minute walk away. It is a two mile walk bike path along the ocean with a amazing view of the Monterey bay. Close by is the Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk, Wharf, downtown Santa Cruz. Great surfing spots like Steamers Lane, Cowell's Beach, Pleasure Point and many point breaks up highway 1 north are only minutes away. Wilder ranch and Henny Cowel offer world class mountain biking.
Walk to Kelly‘s bakery for pastry’s and coffee, Bonnydoon vinyards for wine tasting, fine dining or a pint and food at the Mountain brewery. Santa Cruz has great night life and many great places to see live music at night such as the Kumumbaa jazz center, Catalyst, Moe’s Alley and the Crow’sNest
Take a scenic drive up North to San Franciso or head south to the world famous Montrey bay aquarium.
