This spacious 110 year old home located in the historic district of Northern Kentucky, Riverfront. It served as the parsonage for the Calvary Methodist Episcopal Church until 2001. Rent this house for a month or longer. It will feel like your own home the day you move in. You might never want to leave Berry Avenue.
Born, raised and married in the Greater Cincinnati area, we just celebrated our 36th anniversary in the tri-state. Our background and education includes design, architecture, building and renovation of homes to their original grandeur. When we found this gem we knew immediate this would be a home we could retire to but for now it is perfect for a visiting family, corporate relocation, or just a home away from home.
The Owner purchased this house in 2011
We chose this home because it offers quaint urban living and big city excitement all within walking distance of our marvelous riverfront. This home offers original wood trim and flooring, working pocket doors, 10' high ceilings, original fireplaces and a comfortable kitchen.
Completely furnished large rooms, 2 furnished bedrooms, den (can be used as a 3rd bedroom), 3rd floor open to all possibilities, new appliances, central air conditioning, gas heat, lovely front porch and additional outdoor living space.
What a charming home you have. Everything worked out for our visit to Cincinnati and we loved staying on Berry Ave.
The home is everything that it was shown to be and the perfect location for splitting our time between our respective families located in both Ohio & Kentucky.
I fully expect that when we return to the area, you'll be first to hear from us regarding our accommodations.
We were very happy with our stay at this beautiful home. The wood trim,, doors, and staircase lend a rich historic feeling. Everything was clean, in working order, and well stocked and the WiFi worked great. Kitchen is attractive and up to date. Jane was very attentive to our needs and even offered to ship an item to us that we left behind. I would suggest a cleaning of the 3rd floor carpet and decorating of that level to make it look as nice as the rest of the home. Highly recommend staying in this home - you won't be disappointed!
My family and I were visiting the area to watch my son play baseball for a local minor league team (Florence Freedom), and to experience some of the local attractions. We found the house to be perfect for our purpose. Jane did a great job of stocking linens, ect. The wi-if worked great and the laundry in the basement was extremely convenient. We had a large group of up to 12, so we had to also rent a local hotel, but the house easily slept 8 of us. The house is awesome and the neighborhood was great. When we weren't watching my son play baseball, we enjoyed walking to many attractions in the area, including taking in a Reds game. Their is a local ice cream parlor (Schneiders since 1939) within easy walking distance. The Levee shops in Newport are only about a mile walk from the house. The US Air Force Museum is a great free attraction and only an hour and fifteen minute drive from the house in Dayton, Ohio. We are a family of walkers, so we typically walked 5 miles every morning and saw fantastic older houses along the way. We crossed over the river to Cincinnati and were treated to great walking trails with park settings. We are from CA, so we tried to imagine how much it would cost to rent a house within walking distance to San Francisco's ATT Park......not gonna happen😐. I can't really think of a single negative for us.
Beautiful home with a lot of old world charm. We truly enjoyed our stay and the house met all of our needs. Nice large bedrooms, and good size dining and living room. We were able to entertain other members of our family that were in the area while we were visiting Cincinnati because the house was like being at home. Jane, thank you for providing a place for us to rent.
The kids loved the loft. The home has tasteful decor, but very family friendly (no fragile objects at kid level). Easy access (5 mins) to downtown. We had a great time exploring Covington and new port too. Thanks!
In KY. for a family wedding and 6 adults stayed at this property. Plenty of room for all, and having the two and one half baths was very helpful. The large dining room accommodated all of us, and we were able to prepare meals in the kitchen. It was minutes away from getting across the river to Ohio, and the downtown area of Bellevue is interesting. Great variety of old homes in the area.
We enjoyed staying here very much. The house is beautiful, conveniently situated, and comfortably slept eight people. Jane, the host, is extremely well-organized. The only problem we had was that the house was a bit short on cooking implements and the knives were dull. I would definitely recommend this to others visiting Cincinatti!
