About Lisa

The Lake of the Ozarks is a wonderful place for a vacation! I grew up going to the lake with my family in the summer. At a very young age I learned to water ski behind an aluminum john boat. My brother and I would bug my dad all day long to take us on another run. We were relentless. We enjoyed jumping off the diving board, swimming like fish and spending time with our parents, grandparents and lots of friends. My great grandfather built the lake road the cabin is on so the area holds a special place in my heart. I now live in Arizona and still can't wait for the summer to roll around so I can get back to the Ozarks. It's truly an amazing place to spend a long weekend or even a week or two. Being on the water seems to take all the stresses of daily life away. When I arrive at the lake I forget about it all and simply enjoy the serenity of being on the water.

Lisa purchased this cottage in 2008

Why Lisa chose Lake of the Ozarks

I chose this property because it gives you that Ozarks cabin feel. It's not a sprawling compound on the lake yet very cozy. Most of my time is spent outside enjoying the screened in porch with a book or soaking up the rays on the dock. The martini deck is my favorite place to sit at sunset. The water is calm and there's a peacefulness over the water.

Peaceful!

  • 4 of 5

Our stay at Peace and Serenity was just that! The cottage was clean and comfortable and I know Lisa the owner has made improvements since we've been there! Boat slip/dock worked perfect for our 28' boat. ( I would recommend the public launch ramp though for bigger boats which is just a few coves around the lake!) The location of the cottage is close to everything with a short drive but yet away from it all! LOVED the location for the cottage and boating! And the boating was amazing!! Lisa the owner is amazing as well. She is very easily accessible and always calls you back. She is very concerned about making your stay perfect. We are so looking forward to going back. Thank you Lisa! (And all the neighbors we had a pleasure meeting were awesome!)

Owner's Response: I'm very pleased to hear you enjoyed your vacation! I'm always happy to help make my renters vacations pleasurable and stress free. I agree about the location. There are so many options to boat or get to by land whether it be a grocery store or restaurant/bar and most of them have beautiful views if you chose to be on the water. The public boat ramp is extremely easy to put your boat in and out of the water...a little further drive than the local ramp but worth the drive. I look forward to your next visit! Thank you!

Peace & Serenity = Perfect Harmony

  • 5 of 5

We had an amazing time at the lake! Renting both the cabin and boathouse created a perfectly harmonious vacation for our group of adults and teenagers. Lisa's accommodations were not only beautifully decorated but wonderfully functional and perfect for our needs. We were able to have our own space when necessary as well as enjoy time together for meals, playing cards, watching movies, paddle boating, fishing, swimming, sunbathing, grilling, and the kids favorite - jumping off the diving platform on the boat dock. The ONLY area for improvement would be a stairway connecting boathouse deck to outdoor spaces. We are already planning our next trip to Peace & Serenity. Thank You, Lisa, for being fantastic to work with and easily accessible! We are so grateful for our time spent at your lovely lake front property! Looking forward to coming back :)

Great stay

  • 4 of 5

Just returned from a 3 night stay in this quaint cottage. Had 4 adults and 2 under 5, was plenty of room, however going in we realized there was one bathroom fortunately it never became an issue. that was the only down side, guess i should have read the description closer. Other than that it was well appointed with everything we needed from bedding to dishes, and pots and pans, It had a very homey feel. The inclosed porch was a plus and the dock was great. we really put the paddle boat to use. We had a couple of minor hiccups but after a text was sent Lisa was quick to respond and take care of anything we needed. We will be going back to this cottage again in the future.

Excellent Again

  • 5 of 5

We were reminded of what a good location this house is at on the lake. The cove is quiet, but plenty deep and large enough that you don't have to weave through docks or jigsaw your boat into the slip. The slip fit our 26 footer very well. The house is appointed with a good amount of deck chairs, a patio table, and firepit. Very clean rooms, bedding, and appointed well. Communication with the owner is excellent. Plenty of air conditioning power, even when it's 95+ degrees. The expanded option of renting the new home next door will be something we'll consider in the future because it is really really nice.

Owner's Response: Thank you for your review and choosing my cabin for another year. I take pride in catering to my guests needs and I am constantly making upgrades to the property as I see fit. One of the most recent upgrades are the AC units and I'm pleased to hear they are keeping the house cool with the HOT and HUMID Missouri summers. I look forward to seeing you back again very soon!

Much enjoyment

  • 5 of 5

Our first trip to Lake of the Ozarks. Very much enjoyed staying at the cabin. It's in a quiet cove where the kids enjoyed swimming, paddle boating and jumping off the platform. Had a fire in the fire pit at night. The boat dock was perfect for our boat. I loved the mornings and evenings in the screened porch.

The only negative was the condition of the mattresses in the bunk beds. Overall, a great place and good memories. Thanks!

Owner's Response: Very happy to hear you and your family enjoyed your stay at the cabin and your first time at the Lake of the Ozarks was a pleasurable one. I hope to see you back for future vacations at the lake and I think you will be pleasantly surprised with the bunk beds when you return. The queen mattresses were first on the list to replace this season and the twins are next on the update list. Have a great rest of your summer!

Great cove but kind of deceiving

  • 2 of 5

My family and I visited this lake house recently and were a little disappointed. If you look at the photo online they want you to believe it's the nice brick place with people on the deck. That's not it! It's the dumpier looking place next to it so we were not super excited upon arrive. Also, the recommended boat ramp has about a 45 degree angle and my 2x4 vehicle got stuck on the rocky hill pulling the boat out. No mention of how severe the angle was when we asked about boat launching and that we needed a 4x4 to get the boat in and out at this location. I'd suggest going to another ramp and putting in there unless you have a big 4x4 truck or suv. What's not fun is when you are teetering on a rocky hill next to a cliff with kids including a baby in the car. Inside the place had wifi which was good. Had to swap out some wires to get the tv working but not a huge deal but still not ideal. Nice fireplace outside for roasting smores. Up to you but be mindful of these more real expectations going in.

Owner's Response: I'm very sorry to hear you were disappointed. Over the past 5 years I have put a lot of time and effort into making improvements to the property to make the renters experience a pleasant, comfortable and relaxing one. The photo online represents the entire property to give renters a perspective of the spanning 250’ of shoreline that includes the two houses with paver patio/firepit tucked in between them. The cabin sleeps 8 and the boathouse sleeps 4. I would have been more than happy to offer the boathouse to your family if I was able to accommodate more than 4 people. In regards to the boat ramp, I have not received negative feedback but will be sure to share this with future renters that are looking to launch a boat nearby. I spoke with the ramp owner after your departure and he advised that he will allow renters to launch the boat themselves or is happy to launch the boat with his own 4x4 vehicle. I’m sorry this was your experience but unfortunately the boat ramp isn’t part of my property so I have very little control over it other than to bring awareness to renters and the boat ramp owner. Thank you for the feedback.
