Peaceful, cozy, very relaxing!!!!!
Thank you so much for a wonderful, relaxing week! We really appreciate you and your family sharing your piece of heaven with us. Your home is extremely comfortable and welcoming. We enjoyed the views from your home, the dock, grilling, and the quietness of the lake in the evening! We enjoyed the park, cruising the lake, trying to fish (although the fish were laughing at us)! We salt water fish much better! We can't wait to come back! Thanks again for opening up your lovely home to us. Truly the best rental we have been to that did not feel like a rental!!!!
Driving up to the house was beautiful and could not have asked for a better cove. Saw fireworks every night!!! The cove was so active during the weekend and so calm during the week! All of the rooms were exactly as described. The walk to the dock was nice and not too crazy. The water was great, and the marina was so close. The A/C in the house worked great, water pressure was great and the beds were comfortable. SUNSETS WERE AMAZING IN THIS COVE!!! Made it worth every penny!
Kitchen was functional and I would wait to buy groceries until you get here. There was tons available to use but the coffee maker did not work and the fridge is very limited on space. Not that it doesn't get the job done, we just had to be careful about how much food was being eaten.
The UNEXPECTED: The Tiki bar documented in photos was not available for use. Which was kind of a disappointment as most of our time was spent down on the water or the dock. Speaking of the dock, it is a great place to hang out and it was sufficient for docking our boats but please be aware that the lifts ARE NOT INCLUDED. We were not aware of this and even though it all worked out great, we did decide on this place in the end due to the tiki bar and the lift, and we were a little thrown when we arrived to not have accessibility to them. Also, please be aware that the cell reception in the area was not great and there is no wifi in the house.
We completely enjoyed our stay and have even discussed coming back next year! If you stay here, I have no doubt you would enjoy yourself just as much.
Fun, relaxing and so worth it!!
This was our first trip to SML and we are hooked! The scenery is gorgeous and it was so nice to wake up to a cup of coffe and a calm lake each day. The home was spacious and allowed the kids to hang out playing foosball and ping pong while the adults chatted at the table. There were games, like sequence, that quickly became an evening routine.
The dock has a beautiful view and was perfect for fishing or just watching the others do water sports. The kids loved the upper deck to show off their jump techniques while the adults sat around the dock table to relax. We were able to use the kayaks and rented a ski boat while there so we enjoyed tuning, fishing, and seeing the dam.
It was exactly what our family needed - quality time to spend together and decompress from outside distractions. We can't wait to come back!
Dear Brandon and Dyana, Thank you so much for sharing your vacation experience. I absolutely love hearing about the memories with your family and how you enjoyed the lake as much as we do. We look forward to your return.
The house was very spacious and clean. The beds were really comfortable and the kitchen was stocked with all things needed to cook and do food prep. We loved the sunroom and various decks. The dock was amazing and the kids had a great time jumping off the sun deck. The kayaks were an added bonus and used often during our week there. Vicki was wonderful! We will be back next year.
MUCH MORE THAN EXPECTED!!!!
Extremely clean maintained home inside and out. Felt relaxed the moment we arrived. The views were wonderful. We needed to find a pet friendly house and this was no disappointment. No signs of another pet being there..very spacious..not a long set of steps to docks like most lake homes have..great time catching fish..2 catfish and 1 stryper..Phil and Vicki were very helpful and more than happy to help you..WILL DEFINITELY BE BACK NEXT YEAR. will not even look around.. thank you for sharing your beautiful home with us
My wife and I had a wonderful week at Phil & Vicki's home on Smith Mountain Lake. Fishing is great. The house is located on a quite inlet. I never slept so good. The house has large viewing rooms upstairs and downstairs, overlooking the lake and fishing dock. This a great gathering place for a large family. Location is close to Bedford, VA - Blue Ridge Pkwy and Appalachian Trail. Our stay was so relaxing and comfortable. Vicky & Phil - Thank you so much.
We are located 1/4 mile from the Virginia Dare Marina and the Portside Grill. Anchor's restaurant is 2 miles away at the beginning of Airport Road and Mariners landing is a mile from there.
