Two story cottage, renovated winter 2012 has all of the comforts of home while you vacation at the shore. The 1400 ft² cottage is operated and rented by Lafayette's Oceanfront Resort at Wells Beach, so you have all of the comforts of staying at a large resort while enjoying a private residence. Registered vacationers of the cottage will have use of the indoor heated pool, a 20-foot long hot tub with a waterfall, a fitness room as well as computers with internet access in the lobby.
The first floor of the cottage is comprised of two bedrooms and full bathroom with tub and shower. Both bedrooms each have sliding glass doors that open to a wrap-around deck overlooking the marsh area. The main bedroom has a King sized bed and 27” LCD TV. The second bedroom has a bunk bed with a double on the bottom and twin on the top, and also has a 27” LCD TV.
The second floor has an open concept floor plan combining the kitchen dining area and living area. A sliding glass door opens to a wraparound deck with spectacular views overlooking the marsh area. The kitchen area has an island bar with seating for six, while the living area has a 46” LCD HD TV, with couch seating for four. Also on the second floor is a full bathroom with tub/shower.
For our active family of 5, this was a great vacation rental. The sandy beach was close enough to walk to with our gear, and to go back and forth if we didn't want to bring along a cooler with lunch. The deck was a peaceful place to eat a meal, or to just enjoy watching the tide come and go in the salt marsh. The kids were thrilled that the arcade was practically next door, and that was a fun way to spend some time when the weather wasn't great.
Right on the road, so not a lot of space to play outside and you'd have to watch little kids pretty closely. There is a public playground across the road, but we didn't use it during our stay. No outdoor shower to wash the sand off when you return from the beach, but easy enough to set up foot washing station on the ground level deck and hop into one of two showers inside the unit.
We would definitely rent this again - we waited too long this year to confirm vacation week and are sad to not have this as an option as it is already booked.
