Located on East Stony Creek and 35 acres in Hope Valley in the Southern Adirondacks this renovated 1850's Farm House is a home away from home. Peace and quiet amid Adirondack Adventures and sights abound.
Stay at home and relax, walk to the creek to wade, swim, fish, canoe or kayak. Sit by the fire and read or play an instrument. Ride your bike two miles to the trailheads at the end of the road and wander off into the wilderness. Hike to the nearby waterfalls, or get in your car and drive to the endless number of things that suite your fancy. This is the Adirondacks.
We have one large bedroom with a Queen Bed, and two smaller yet still quite sizable bedrooms with Double Beds. All of the bedrooms are upstairs and share a common bathroom. There is an additional bathroom downstairs with a tub for soaking. There is ample and comfortable living space in our open floor plan with common dining area, sitting areas, gas fireplace, window benches and baby grand piano. The fully stocked kitchen should not disappoint.
My wife and I are mostly mountain people. We choose to live in a beautiful place surrounded by good, smart people and we enjoy the outside. We ski, hike, bike, kayak, raft, and run. We like to get to the beach when we can. We now have a new little man to take on our adventures with us. We think he's a pretty lucky guy.. There is always music and good food in our lives. If it's not being made, it's being sought out and enjoyed. We like to work hard and play hard.
Gant or Jessica Ginter purchased this farmhouse in 2003
This 35 acre property is a gem and quiet escape located just outside of the town that I grew up in. It is remote, yet sophisticated. It is mountian charm and rural living with a touch of class that allows us to visit and entertain our family and friends the way we choose. We only wish that we had more time to make the garden flourish!
This old house has been updated to be airy and light. The breezes that blow through in the spring, summer, and fall will fill you up. When the temperature drops and the fog billows across the fields it's stunning. You can't help but stop and enjoy your surroundings. That holds true for all of our experiences here. The river offers cool refreshment in the summer and beautiful splendor in the winter. The riverside fireplace is enjoyable any time of year. The trailheads at the end of the road draw us out daily.
Thank you so much for allowing us to have our wedding in your home. It is so beautiful and relaxing here, it made the perfect setting. We will certainly be in contact in the future as we would love to stay here again.
My husband and I had a perfect vacation in Hope Falls. It was lovely, in a beautiful area. The house is beautiful, welcoming, decorated with care and very well equiped. It matches the pictures on the websites and the surroundings are amazing. The contact with Gant was perfect as well as his Dad who showed us around the house and was very helpful and eager to help. There is everything you need in Northville, it was very nice. I highly recommend this place.
Beautiful clean house! Everything you need is there. We enjoyed being here . Quiet, beautiful outdoor area.kids loved to play in the creek.
If you like to hike and nature this is the place to be.
My husband and I stayed here recently with our extended family and we recommend it highly! It's ideal for anyone looking to escape to a beautiful home in a peaceful, rural setting with easy access to hiking and swimming. The home is beautifully renovated with three nicely sized bedrooms and an ideal layout for relaxing with family. It's not far from the charming town of Northville (about a 10-15 drive) where one can find organic produce and locally made items. It is a perfect base from which to enjoy a weekend - or longer - in the country!
We loved this house. The owners quickly answered all my questions before we got there, and Gant's dad met us at the house to make sure we were all set and that the driveway was plowed.
And then the house itself was gorgeous and peaceful in the winter. Because it was very cold outside, we mostly stayed in and cooked in the great kitchen and sat in front of the gas fireplace.
The house has a great feel that is both rustic and modern, and we wanted for nothing.
I very much hope to stay here again and highly recommend a stay here.
From meeting Mr Ginter upon arrival to checking out we were thrilled with the property. A beautiful historic home with cool old features but all the newest amenities nestled in the woods. The location is remote and beautiful- no one anywhere close. A creek on the property and a plethora of hiking trails surrounding we got to hike to ponds and waterfalls and enjoy fire pits (yes there is more than 1!) at night... Kitchen is stocked as you would stock your own. Perfect location to get away from it all- we highly recommend it! Thank you gant!
The pictures of the home don't do it justice. The home and natural surroundings exceeded our expectations. The home's design is absolutely beautiful with a rich history. The place was clean and plenty of space to cook and hang out. Every room had lots of reading material that promoted maximum relaxation especially large living room. Naturally the kitchen was the place we spent most of our time in as it was well stocked and plenty of space to accommodate our large group. Gant was more than helpful as he answered all my questions about the rental and provided extensive information about local restaurants and activities including hiking and kayaking. I only wish we had stayed longer to enjoy more of the outdoor activities. I would highly recommend this place to anyone who is looking to relax and explore the outdoors.
The nearby Village of Northville offers a variety of interests for local shopping. A rebounding small Main Street is an interesting stroll. Visit the local Java Joe's coffee shop, go antiquing at the Red Barn, shop or sign up for a ceramics class at the Orendaga Studio. Check out locally made Adirondack furniture at William Coffey Studios. Grab a some pastries at the bakery at the Inn at the Bridge or dinner at the Timeless Tavern or Lake House Grill. The many surrounding small towns have rich histories of logging and hard living but today there are artist and craftsmen hidden in the nooks and crannies. The local hikes, lakes, and streams are abundant. Get on the Great Sacandaga Lake. It's a boater's and water skier's delight in the summer and a skate skier and fisherman's escape in the winter. Go mountain biking on the grwoing number of local mountain bike trails or take a road ride to enjoy the beautiful rolling beauty of the Adirondack foothills. Visit the Wells Beach and try your hand at the coolest lake beach diving board that we know of…
