a house with a "wow!" factor

  • 5 of 5

This house has that “wow!” factor – from the very moment you approach the driveway and the vista of Meeting House Pond and the marina opens up on your left. The “wow!” factor continues as you walk through this amazingly well-equipped and unbelievably well-stocked house, with its wonderful views from, in particular, the lounge and the main bedroom windows.

The pool area at the rear is great, with sun loungers and a table and chairs for al fresco dining: it just lacked sunshine while we were there! (We were suffering from the tail-end of Hurricane Hermine).

The deck area at the front and the very extensive garden leading down to the Pond are great places to sit out in the evenings when the sun – what little we had of it! – goes behind the trees at the back.

From the house you can easily walk to Nauset Beach – a wonderful beach that goes on forever and is a must to be visited.

A short drive takes you to the Centre of Orleans with its many local shops. To the north of the town are a useful supermarket (Stop & Shop), a Liquor Store (you can’t by alcoholic drinks in the supermarket!), as well as a number of restaurants / take-outs: we would highly recommend ‘the Knack’.

The house is also wonderfully situated for activities further afield. We went on a whale watching trip with Dolphin Fleet Whale Watching out of Provincetown (27 miles) – and saw about 40 whales! We took the Hy-Line Ferry from Hyannis (25 miles) to Nantucket and, while there, visited Nantucket Vineyard / Cisco Brewers / Triple Eight Distillery – there’s a free shuttle from Nantucket Town – for what turned out to be an amazing (and educational!) experience.

We would also recommend a trip to Chatham (9 miles) – to us a very typical Cape Cod town.

With so much to do from this ideally situated house, our week there went all too quickly …

Lots of Space And beautiful view

  • 4 of 5

This was our first vacation as a family. Me, My husband and my 7 month old twins loved all the space the house had to offer. Having the TV in the sun room was actually great bc we could chat and watch TV after we put our boys down to sleep without having to worry about being too loud. The pool is lovely and private. The days were cooler being mid September but we did get the opportunity to use it one day. The water view with deck off the master bedroom was lovely to wake up to. Being walking distance to Nauset Farms was great for morning stroll and coffee. The people there knew us by name by the end of our stay. Our only wish was that there was more sidewalk to take longer walks. We love walking with the stroller in he mornings at home. But with no sidewalks on a main road we were worried about having the kids on the side of the road. Nauset beach was very close which was great (again if there were sidewalks we would have actually walked there). Overall I'd recommend this house especially for a family who needs space for everyone to spread out. We immediately felt at home and were so very glad we canceled our hotel room we originally had booked! Finally the owners were very responsive and easy to work with :)

Perfect location and a pool!!!

  • 5 of 5

We had a great vacation! The location was ideal. Walking distance to ice-cream, pizza and a local market. We were less that l.5 miles from the ocean - Nasuet beach. We enjoyed the pool after a day at the beach. We had fun playing some of the board games in the living room. We had a lovely dinner at Ocean House in Dennis. The Knack in Orleans was great for burgers! Down the block is the Marina. Blue Claw boat tours offers a fun sunset seal tour. We would definitely recommend this property to our family and friends. We hope to go back next summer!

A piece of heaven

  • 5 of 5

Owners were very pleasant and easy to deal with. Thank you. The house was very clean and very comfortable. I felt relaxed the moment I walked through the door! Our two teenage children were also very comfortable and happy with the house - plenty of space for them to hang out together, or alone, or as a full family. We immediately fell into a wonderful family routine on day 1. Morning coffee watching the boats pull out of the marina (no wake zone, so very peaceful to watch them putter out), a morning run through nearby neighborhoods, a shower then dip in the pool, Nauset Beach (3 minute drive?) for the morning, afternoons by the pool, drink on the deck as the boats putter back, dinner out or in, maybe an evening swim for the kids. Awesome, awesome, awesome. Peaceful, tranquil, relaxing - at the end of a cul de sac, but near everything you want or need. We LOVED our stay, and are so appreciative to the owners for sharing it with us. We hope we can come back next summer (or every summer!!).

A great relaxing holiday

  • 5 of 5

Because of flight delays we arrived late in the evening very tired and were so relieved to find a clean comfortable house. The real delight came the next morning when waking early I looked out and saw the sun coming up over the little marina. It is even prettier than the photo. To start a day sitting on the deck looking over that marina and watching the birds flying around was just what we wanted from a holiday. The pool was a great bonus especially for our 2 kids who were with us. Having a few shops and a pizza takeaway just a short stroll away from the house was good. (Nauset Farm shop is a must for BBQ's.) Orleans itself is a really nice little town. The Chocolate Sparrow café has great food but we would recommend a visit to the Chocolate Sparrow shop across the street, a wonderful shop to browse around. Cape Cod has so much to do and see.

I would definitely recommend this home and Cape Cod.

Thank Peter.

Great rental - super location, water views

  • 4 of 5

My husband and I, as well as our friends, really enjoyed our vacation in this great house, and the location can't be beat. The view of Meeting House Pond is beautiful, and we were able to get our kayak in the water nearby. The pool was an added plus, and was definitely used given we had glorious weather for mid September with temps in the 70's. It was nice to be able to walk to Nauset Beach Club (one of our favorite restaurants in Orleans) and a short drive up the Beach Road lands you at Nauset Beach - fantastic! We went digging for quahogs at Saints Landing in Brewster as part of the Orleans "Celebrate Our Waters" activities and had a lot of fun and wound up with a bucket full - some we made stuffed quhogs with (which came out delish) and the larger ones we used as bait for surf casting at Nauset Beach. We didn't catch any fish (the seals ate all the clams!)but we had fun any way. I'd recommend this vacation rental and plan to return myself. Thanks Peter and Joan!
