Rome Apartment Rental Photos and Description

Apartment, 2 Bedrooms + Convertible bed(s), 1 Bath, (Sleeps 2-6)

After many years living in the midst of the Tuscan countryside, not within easy reach of any of the big cities, from time to time, I crave museums, cinema and beautiful shops. Even though distance-wise I am actually closer to Florence, I prefer to head to Rome for my citybreaks. I like Rome, possibly because it’s the city where I was born, but certainly because the weather is mild even in the winter. Being so close to the sea, there is often, eaven in the summer evenings, a light breeze called “ The Ponentino”.

I love Rome for the late hours it keeps so there is no risk of finding restaurants closed at 10 pm. You can visit some museums in the evenings at the weekends, giving you the chance during the daytime to go shopping in the countless shops where there is ample choice and the occasional bargain.

My apartament is in Trastevere 10 minutes’ walk from St. Peter’s, 5 minutes’ walk from St. Maria in Trastevere and just over the Tiber via either the Mazzini bridge or the Sisto bridge, and you are immediately in Campo dei Fiori, Pantheon and Piazza Navona.

The apartament is in a cul de sac which is closed at the end by the Botanic Garden and the slopes of

Gianicolo.

This residential street is considered one of the most beautiful in Rome for its backdrop of greenery. In fact as soon as you take the Via della Lungara it’s like opening the stage curtains and seeing the picturesque scenery of a play.

The apartments were constructed in 1800 by Cardinal Riario, from whom the street takes its name. Being one of only ten apartments, the flat is very quiet, with a monastery opposite and the Botanic Garden at the side. Even though it’s right in the heart of the historic centre of the city, you can enjoy the tranquillity whilst still being very close to appealing places such as restaurants, bars and shops of this area where the night life is very lively.

Romans famously love the small hours and seem almost to forget to sleep. Even some news stands are open at night time.

The apartment is furnished with antique furniture.

The house in the city which makes you feel at home...

Close to the quarter, guests can enjoy one of the most beautiful views of Rome from the Colle del Gianicolo. Even though the apartment is located right in the heart of the city, the apartment is quiet and peaceful due to the fact that it is located right next to the Botanical Garden (Orto Botanico).

From the house guests can easily reach the main historical sites of the city such as St. Peter Basilica, Navona Square, Spanish Steps and many other interesting sites of Rome.

The apartment includes:

· A living/dining room with double sofa-bed

· A kitchen with oven and refrigerator

· Main bedroom with king size bed

· Second bedroom with double bed

· A bathroom with shower and tube

· Central heating system

· Air conditioned

The apartment can accommodate up to 6 guests

Keywords: Cozy apartment (80 meter squares) located in Trastevere area, one of the most characteristic neighborhoods of Rome, at about 800 meters from the Piazza di Santa Maria in Trastevere, one of the most famous squares of the quarter with its narrow streets packed with antic restaurants, pizzerias, wine bars and lovely shops. An excellent choice for Rome

  • 5 of 5

Our family of four stayed for 7 nights and thoroughly enjoyed Luisa's apartment. I cannot think of anything that we needed that wasn't provided. Luisa met us as planned (after arranging our taxi -- THANKS) and explained everything -- she is a competent and welcoming host. We particularly appreciated the apartment's high ceilings and lovely tiled floors. We cooked often and the kitchen is very well equipped. I think the apartment is ideally positioned -- in a quiet dead-end street (opposite a convent), yet only a short walk from the rest of busy Trastevere (noisy at night), the city over the river via pedestrian bridge, or towards the Vatican area. Highly recommended.

Great place to stay in Rome

  • 5 of 5

We have stayed in Luisa's apartment in August for four days and I am very happy that we have found it. Luisa had been very helpful and kind, helped us with the taxi (Mario was truly great!) and waited for us to give us a tour of the place.

We really liked the location and the space. With three teenagers, our family could fit just fine. The apartment is clean and well equipped, the distance to all the attractions is really close. There are a few shops nearby as well as some excellent pizza and ice cream stops. We have used public transit a lot and the bus stop is mere three minutes away.

I have to mention our small mishap that was resolved very fast and with minimal stress on our part. On our second last day, the key in the lock got stuck and no amount of pulling could get it out. Even though Luisa lives away from Rome, one phone call sufficed to rally her brother to come and help. He was very helpful and while we went to a pizzeria, he and his friend fixed the lock. To me it is a sign of a great VRBO owner, not only renting out, but most importantly, being very helpful.

Many thanks to Luisa and Georgie (at least I hope it was his name)!

I would definitely recommend this apartment to my friends and hope that it houses many happy holidaymakers!

Thank you Luisa :)

Great location, large apartment!

  • 5 of 5

My husband and I rented Luisa's apartment for 6 weeks and are very happy that we did! My mother also joined us for 2 of those weeks. The apartment is quite large with 2 large bedrooms and is very well located on a quiet street just a few minutes walk into the heart of Trastevere. We actually walked everywhere: the Vatican, Piazza Navona, Pantheon, Coloseum, Galleria Borghese, San Giovani in Laterano, Appian Way and so much more. All of the sights are within walking distance of Luisa's apartment.

The apartment is on the first floor (one flight of stairs up) and we would walk up to the rooftop to hang our laundry to dry. Nice view of the surrounding area from there too.

Luisa met us at the apartment when we arrived to show us around and how everything worked. She was also easily available to us by phone or email during our stay.

We would definitely recommend this apartment!

Thank you Luisa!

Quaint, cosy and filled with the essence of Rome

  • 5 of 5

We stayed at Louisa's apt. for four nights, arriving on a monday and leaving friday morning, and had an absolutely fabulous time. We were a party of 6.

Louisa met us at the apt and showed us around making sure to answer all of our questions. Her place was clean and so adorable, we really loved the high ceilings, floor tiles, and her personal design. It really added to our stay in Rome. We enjoyed making meals there, and in the mornings i would do tai chi on the roof over looking the city. As mention her apt is within walking distance of all the major sites, and if one needs a bus it is easy enough to figure. She also provided a number that we could call to get traveling information in english, which was great as i was in need of it for planning our departure, to catch a train.

Being right in the city and close to everything was great, but also equally appreciated was how quiet her neighborhood is at night. Yet one could walk down the street and in a couple of blocks be in the heart of Trastevere's eating and nightlife area. Trastevere is such a fun neighborhood to explore with all of it's specialty shops, cheese, bread, pastries, our heads were spinning and our baskets full. Honesty we did not have enough time to do all that we wished. We dream of returning to Rome and would absolutely recommend staying at Louisa's home. It was a perfect place to explore Rome and get a feel of an Italian neighborhood. The apt building was filled with plants each floor, and the smells coming from other apts. in the building was amazing, all truly adding to our experience.

Thank you Louisa for everything, we will always appreciate the warmth and hospitality of your home.

Charming, Quirky, Delightful two large double bedrooms in Trastevere!

  • 4 of 5

Luisa´s beautiful apartment is in the Heart of Trastevere! The two double bedrooms were perfect with lots of storage place. We loved the apartment had a bathtub ... which is so rare to find. Luisa has almost every reference book in Rome on her livingroom bookshelves. The kitchen had everything that was required and previous guests had kindly left bits and pieces --- like olive oil, salt and pepper, ground coffee. We could have stayed for ever. The location was PERFECT ... on a quiet one way street opposite a convent ... no vespas racing up and down the street. Approximately 5 minute walk to the active area of Trastevere´s cafes, bars and restaurants. We loved it! Grazie Mille Luisa!

Location, location, and lots of character, too!

  • 5 of 5

We have just stayed in this apartment for 16 days with our two young adult children. We loved everything about it. It is super charming with lots of artistic touches. It was a pleasure to come home to and very well located close to Trastevere shops and restaurants, the Ponte Sisto bridge to the Campo de Fiori neighborhood and also the Vatican. We went back and forth almost daily to the other side of the river and strolled home from the New Years celebration at the Circus Maximus.

The floor plan worked very well for us. The two bedrooms are nicely spread out with cozy living room in between. They can be set up with two beds per room, or a matrimonial bed instead. The kitchen is very well equipped and we made many meals in the apartment including a multi course Christmas dinner. It is great fun to shop in the many speciality stores in Trastevere. The bathroom is completely adequate although not modern. The owner had just installed a new hot water system which worked perfectly and the apartment was warm and cozy throughout our stay.

The apartment is on the first floor (one flight of stairs) of a very quiet building. We only saw other residents two or three times during our stay. The block is also quiet with a convent across the street and the building backs up to the botanical garden. Yet it's only a block or two to Trastevere restaurants and night life.

The owner is lovely and easy to work with. She met us when we arrived, even though it was after dark, and the next morning took us on a stroll through the neighborhood pointing out amenities and sights. She was available to us via email throughout our stay.

I think almost anyone would be thrilled to live like a Roman for a few days or weeks in this fabulous apartment.
