Overview

About the property

Villa, 2 Bedrooms, 2 Baths, (Sleeps 4)

This lovely 2 bedroom, 2 bathroom Parkside villa has a great location in East Beach Village. It overlooks Night Heron Park and is a short 8 minute walk to the beach. Be close to everything!

A queen bed in the master bedroom and 2 twin beds in the guest room make this villa perfect for families. There is a flat screen TV in the living room with new furniture so you can relax after a fun day on Kiawah. We love to eat our meals on the screened porch.

This is an upstairs villa with cathedral ceilings in the living room and screened porch, so the villa is very light and bright. Both bathrooms were just renovated.

This villa is well loved and we've tried to stock the villa to make your vacation as comfortable as possible. There is also wifi if you need to stay connected during your vacation.

Play golf on the world famous Ocean Course, enjoy tennis at the #1 Tennis Resort, walk along the pristine beaches of Kiawah Island and then return to all the comforts of home at this Parkside villa. Please note that this villa does not have access to a swimming pool.

This villa does not have access to a swimming pool.

**** This cottage is managed by a fellow owner. Please see my other listings below, including the cottage I own. Thanks, Susie ******

About Susie Oringel

We purchased our cottage on Kiawah Island in summer of 2005, and I began renting it on VRBO during the weeks we were not able to enjoy Kiawah ourselves. In 2007, a friend on nearby Seabrook Island asked me if I would help her rent her villa also. Since I loved helping people plan their vacations in the area, I obtained my South Carolina Property Manager's License and began a business - Kiawah By Owner. I now help rent more than 25 other properties on Kiawah Island and Seabrook Island in addition to our cottage. I look forward to helping you plan your vacation - Susie Oringel 704-277-2912

kiawah marathon weekend

Susie,

Thank You for the wonderful accommodations. The condo was conveniently located just a short walk to the east village, the beautiful Sanctuary Hotel and also to the beach. We thoroughly enjoy our stay and will be back!

Fabulous place in a Great location

  • 5 of 5

The Condo is delightful and the owner very accommodating. Kiawah Island is a beautiful location and will definitely return. Love the views of the Park. We would have stayed longer but the Governor ordered and evacuation and we had to leave the Island. We hope the storm does not damage the island or the Condo. We had a great stay.

Owner's Response: Thank you for your kind review. Fortunately Hurricane Matthew had only minimal impact to people and property on Kiawah and nearby communities. We were indeed quite fortunate. A few boardwalks are under repair as of this writing, but the beach and all of Kiawah remains beautiful and naturally scenic. Kiawah by Owner has been in business since 2005 and this was our first mandatory evacuation. Hopefully it will be a long time before the next one.

Perfect Getaway

  • 5 of 5

This is my first trip to to this beautiful island and I will definitely be back! What a perfect, clean and spacious 2 bedroom/2bath getaway!!! Love the quiet location and view of the park. I was surprised that over Labor Day Weekend there was not more noise! It was perfect and quiet. I will be back.

Won't be returning

  • 2 of 5

We love Kiawah. Don't let the bad review scare you from the island. It's a wonderful place for beach and nature lovers alike. We saw Dolphins, deer, alligators and birds. We cycled everywhere and tried great food.

I would say about the only thing this unit has going for it is the location. It sits next to a park which is advantageous when traveling with children. That's about it. In fact, some may find the park noise a nuisance.

So this was our 5th stay on the island so when reading some of the reviews for this unit I ignored all the complaints about the bugs. After all, it's a wooded environment next to the beaches and marshes. Mosquitoes, spiders etc- you know they are out there! But this unit did not have just a bug problem. It was infested with roaches. We arrived at night and were greeted by a dozen roaches. We killed 5 the first night and 6 the next morning. They were everywhere and it was difficult to relax while in the condo. We eventually decided to stay out as much as possible and stop expending energy in killing roaches. I did submit an email to the manager on day 2 and she sent someone out on night 3 of our stay to spray. The aftermath was brutal. We awoke to over a dozen roaches of all sizes dead on the kitchen floor. But at least they were dead.

Apart from the roaches, the unit looks much better online. It is very dated and in need of a good cleaning. There were several cobwebs and we had to re wash the pots and pans before using them. They were thick with grease or had sitting water in them. The washer was also a bit quirky as the cold setting filled with hot water. The dryer took two full cycles to dry the clothes.

Some of the electrical wiring was odd as well with very little central lighting.

We chose this unit because it was a last minute trip and the only thing we could find. We noticed it was priced a tad lower than other units we had stayed at and now I understand why. It's already quite a sum of money to stay on Kiawah/Seabrook, go ahead and pay for something you can relax in and feel at home in!

Owner's Response: Thank you for your feedback - we're sorry that you didn't have a more enjoyable stay. The property is treated regularly for bugs and your experience sounds unusual relative to the other positive reviews of this property. No granite countertops or sparkly new hardwood floors. But it's a clean, comfortable, and airy space for a beach vacation, with many happy return visitors.

Can't wait to go back!

This was our first time staying at Kiawah and will definitely not be our last. The location of the condo was perfect for our family as we have two active children and the soccer fields and park just below up was so handy. I could sit on the balcony with my coffee and watch them play with the other kids. Bike rentals were easy and brought right to our place. Tons of paved trails can take you to the beach, market, anywhere! Easy walk to coffee when we didn''t feel like making it ourselves. We found the condo to be very clean and well stocked with cooking amenities, spices and paper goods. It had plenty of room for the four of us. The property management company was a joy to work with (thanks, Susie!). Yes, the palmetto bugs outside can be annoying if you're not used to them, but that is par for the area, not the condo. Travel to Charleston for the day was easy. We will be staying here in the future!

We had a wonderful trip to Kiawah. The bike access was amazing and the location of the villa was right in the middle of everything, we wanted to do! The villa was clean and a great location overlooking Night Heron Park. The rental process was very quick and easy. We look forward to future stays at this villa! The property manager provided great service. Thank you.(The Village Market by Harris Teeter is very good).
