It was wonderful to come back to a cool, quiet apartment each evening, put up our feet and relax. We loved the kitchen and all the cookware. We enjoyed many meals in the apartment, as well as out. The shower was good, loved the washer/dryer combo. The living area was comfy. Loved the free calling to land lines. The bedroom was roomy but had trouble locking the door. We will recommend this apartment to friends and family. Great location! Thanks for the enjoyable stay.
This apartment is delightful - the decor is lovely , the apartment was very spacious and comfortable for our family of four. It offered all the amenities of home with the delights of Paris. The location is fabulous, in the middle of the action but incredibly quiet. There is a plethora of excellent restaurants, even for vegans. You will find groceries , shops, metro stops nearby. Fabulous museums, la Seine ... are just a short walk away. Thanks to the owner, Gunnar and his team for sharing this wonderful property.
The apartment was even better than the pictures and bigger than we thought it'd be. Gunnar was quick to respond during the booking process and made us feel comfortable about our upcoming visit. We utilized the offer of setting up transfers to and from the airport. No glitches, Patrick the driver was waiting for us when our plane arrived and we enjoyed our conversations with him during our rides. Connie was waiting for us at the apartment even though we had a very late arrival. She is wonderful and explained little details that made our stay easier. She was available and answered us promptly when we had questions during our stay. The apartment is in a good location, you feel safe and secure. Of course the bakery downstairs, as many others have said, is delicious and very convenient! The apartment had everything you'd need and made you feel you stepped into a very Parisian life. Our family of four couldn't have enjoyed our stay or visit to Paris more. Our daughters (20 and 12) loved the loft area and we appreciated the large bedroom on the other side of the apartment. From the first quick response from Gunnar to Patrick the driver to Connie making us feel at home and answering all of our questions, they made our visit to Paris perfect and without problems or glitches! We can't wait to visit Paris again and would definitely stay here if it's available!
Thank you Gunnar for sharing your place with us! And thank you Connie for making our stay comfortable and enjoyable!
Suggestions if you're planning a stay:
This apartment does not have an elevator (typical of older Parisian buildings) so if you have any problems climbing flights of stairs, this location may not be suitable for you. However we had no issues and actually found the winding wood staircase beautiful!
Specific places to try during your visit, L'AS du FALLAFEL for the best falafel's and Breizh Cafe for out of this world crepes!
This apartment was well suited and comfortable for our family of four (two adults and two children, 7 and 9). This was our first booking using VRBO, and the booking process was incredibly easy and efficient with Gunnar (the owner). Connie was an absolute pleasure, and we truly appreciated her hospitality; she was always available to answer any questions we had.
Our flight arrived at approximately 6am, and I was so appreciative that the apartment was immediately available to us upon arrival after an 8 hour flight. As an alternate to taking the train, prior to our arrival, we opted to take Connie’s offer to arrange for a private pickup to bring us directly to the apartment. This was well worth it.
To get up to the apartment, you do have to walk up three flights of stairs (there is no lift). At first this seems daunting, but in reality it was not a big deal (considering all the walking we did around Paris, our kids did not complain once about going up three flights of stairs). The apartment is well equipped with everything you could possibly need. All appliances were clean and in working order. The free wifi access was definitely a plus, and worked adequately. The TV worked fine, too, but we could not get any of the international channels listed on the sheet (i.e. CNN, BBC), but we weren’t there to watch TV anyways.
We did not have any problems with using the shower, however, if you are definitely taller than 5’11”, you will not be able to stand up straight in the shower. The fan in the bathroom could have used some cleaning, but otherwise, the bathroom was adequate for our needs. The loft area is very short; perhaps less than four feet high. While this was not an issue for us (since our kids were sleeping up there, and they happily loved being up there) for others, this may not be ideal.
The location was excellent, and we felt very safe to walk around the area. The apartment is less than a 10 minute walking distance to Chatelet-Les Halles, Palais Royale, and Louvre-Rivoli metro stations, so there is easy transportation to anywhere you want to go. The Louvre is less than a 10 minute walk. There is a good bakery just below the apartment, as well as a grocery market and fruit market. There are also plenty of Fran Prix grocery markets within a 10 minute walking distance, too, as well as plenty of cafés and restaurants.
We will definitely be recommending this apartment to others and would definitely stay here again!
We just returned from our second stay at this charming, comfortable apartment, and renewed our enthusiasm for its convenience, amenities and location (including the boulangerie downstairs). It just feels and is very welcoming, and we recommend it highly. Connie is a warm and helpful greeter, and Patrick provided a pleasant, fast (!) direct ride to the airport on the last day. The walk up and downstairs provides a direct way to exercise off the bread from the boulangerie (so it all sort of evens out). Loved our stay and can't wait to return.
Real comfort and true rest for the best price! We did not expect the apartment to be so cosy and traveller-friendly: it is quite spacey and much better than it appears in the pictures provided (my husband said that it was the best equiped apartment he ever stayed in). We really enjoyed every single minute spent in it: everything worked perfectly, everything was there for us to use. Internet connection was fast and worked fine. It is in the very heart of Paris with a nice bakery downstairs and a small market next-door plus a lot of restaurants/cafés very close by (1-5 minutes walk from the apartment). Connie is the most responsible and friendly host to meat you and help you with any questions you may have. We spent the best vacations in Paris thanks to Gunnar and Connie.
N.B. Please note that booking service is very simple and quick - much easier and better compaired to booking of other apartments in Paris. You will find there everything you may need - from a number of Paris guides and maps to umbrella and shopping bag! You are the number one and we will recommend you to all of my friends :) Will definitely come back!
I stayed at this apt. with my wife and 15 yr old daugther. We enjoyed it very much. It was cozy and well equipment. Its locations was perfect with short walk distance to the Louvre plus a great artesan bakery below the apratment and a small but well stocked mini food market. Thanks to Connie for being the perfect host and giving us all the tips to enjoy Paris.
