Guestbook comments from the owner

Having a great time, have caught lost of fish.

The stone parking area is great and did not wash away with the bad thunder storm we had.It is nice and big to park the boat trailer. Went to the zoo in Utica, to Big Don's golf and to Sylvan Beach.

Thanks for a great time again. We love your house

Relaxing-Fishing-Hanging Out

  • 5 of 5

We just recently returned from a 6 day stay at Oneida Lake. Everything that was promised at the house was there and more. If you want a place where all you need to do is show up with some clothes and food this is it. If you are a fisherman Godfrey Point boat ramp is just a minute away from you. Hanging on the deck at night after fishing was great and then on Saturday there was a parade of the big boats going across the lake from Sylvan beach which was cool to watch.

Very roomy and pieceful house a few feet from the lake.

  • 5 of 5

The house is very roomy, neat and clean. Plenty of chairs and table space on front deck to enjoy the lake view. The two bedrooms are spacious, with the master having its' own private two sink full bathroom and walk-in closet with large dresser. All three TV's have more than enough cable channels (Glad to see SNY, YES, and ESPN as we're Mets fans too). More than enough dishes, plates, cups and pots and pans to feed an army. This house (too large to call a cabin) is located at the end of a very long private dirt road with quite neighbors. The rear deck has a propane grill. Anny was so nice to call the evening we arrived to make sure that everything was fine, which is was. We used the house as a base-camp, traveling out in a different direction each day to explore our marvelous upstate NY. The central air quickly cooled the house when we arrived back each day. It was nice to stay at the lake in this very rural area and still enjoy all of the modern comforts of home. Highly recommend!

Great house, great location and everything you would need

  • 5 of 5

Would definitely stay again. The location on the lake was beautiful and the house had everything you would possibly need during your stay. Additionally, the daily cost for an entire house was great. Thanks again

Everything you need to have a care free vacation on the water

  • 4 of 5

The amenities are spot on, we wanted a quiet place to enjoy the lake and we got it.the dock was adequate (could use some updates and cleats to tie off we used the dock poles workd fine) the boat launch is less than a 1/2 MILE up the road free launch very nice. I was able to dock our 21 foot sea swirl by trimming up the moter a bit along the shore. The owner is a pleasure, true to her word. The rental process was a breeze Anny keeps you informed through out. If you need anything Anny responds fast and plesant. We will definitely go back can't wait, thank you for making our vacation awesome!

The house was not cleaned before we got in. Beds not made with dirty sheets and towels.

  • 1 of 5

Don't rent this property!!! The house was filthy going in. I called Anny to tell her and she said I had to clean it myself! We did because she said she could not find anybody to clean it for us. She also said that we left stains on the table and that was untrue. We clened as best as we could on the day we left and that meant we cleaned twice. The house we rented is in New York State and she lives in California. She called m only a couple of hours after we left so I asked her how she knew the condition of the house and believe it or not she told me she has spies. Were we being watched all week???

Also, to reserve the house we ad to write a check to Anny for $300. After I came back I called HomeAway to complain and they told me that the $300 wasn't even mentioned to HomeAway! That is definately against the rules!!!

The house is on a long dirt road that gets very muddy when it rains and evry owner on the road wants to have it paved except for Anny. I read all the reviews before I rented and seeing all the good reviews I thought it would be nice and no problems but I was wrong. Oh, did I mention tere is no firepit, the dock I wouldn't step on for fear I'd go through and there is a condemned cottage between the hose and the lake. (Probably Anny's)

Owner's Response: It is true that the house had not been cleaned. My maid van water pump broke down. They agree to clean and I would give them the $75 I normally give to the maid. When they left, they left a big mess. They burned 16 candles and left the wax run down. It toke 2 maids 3 1/2 hours to return the house to what it is normally. This does not account for stains on the swing or the stains on the dining room chairs. 'There never was talk about paving the road.. The fire pit is next to the dock and has been used for years I do not spie on my renters, even the ones I have in California. I have a lot of customers returning, they respect the house as if it was t theirs. A bad apple can sometimes be found in a basket of apples Anny
