Anacortes is located on Fidalgo Island, the only island in the San Juan Islands that you do not need a ferry to access. Drive up, park your car and take it on foot from there!
The location of this lovely 2 bedroom home could not be better for experiencing Anacortes. You can walk to marinas, beaches, restaurants, shops, movie theater, live theater, library, museum, art galleries, and the post office. The Washington State Ferry is 3 miles down the road if you would like to take a day and explore the other islands.
Take advantage of the fireplace and cozy up for a quiet evening of relaxation or step out for the evening in one of our great evening spots just a few blocks away.

I stayed here as a short term rental and had a great stay. There was plenty of room for living space, nice to have upstairs living space with additional half bath downstairs. Kitchen is equipped with things you need, and a small all-in-one washer/dryer that is available for use for small loads. What really is the thing I appreciated most was the proximity to downtown, you're on a quiet residential street but yet right near restaurants, shopping, etc. Also the access to the owner of the home is very easy if any questions regarding the home by phone. He was prompt, great to work with, and very accommodating.
My husband, 13 son, and I stayed at this house for the month of July - we wanted to get away from the heat in South Carolina. We also brought our dog. It was perfect for what we were looking for. Great location - we walked A LOT and it couldn't have been more convenient. There really isn't any yard, but there is a nice park a block away where we brought our dog. The house is small, clean, with good mattresses and bedding. The owner was great to deal with, and responded quickly with any questions. Would highly recommend this rental.
Cozy, Comfortable, and Convenient
We recently spent seven weeks in this cute house and had a wonderful stay! The location can't be bea,t and the neighborhood is friendly and quiet. The house has so much character with comfortable furnishings and plenty of room, even a nice-sized separate dining room. The kitchen is pleasant with a new range and fridge, although pretty basically equipped. Upstairs is a large master with an electric fireplace - very nice. The second bedroom is also large with two twin beds. The beds are so comfortable and there are lots of extra linens. The bathroom is nicely supplied with plenty of fluffy towels. Everything added up to a very enjoyable stay, including great tv and wifi, coat rack and shelves in the foyer, and nic built-in bookshelves with a selection of literature and local information. All in all, we were very pleased with this rental and the owner, who responded promptly to any questions.
Quiet but Close to Fun
My wife and I stayed here in October, 2011. What a great place for a great month. This is a perfect spot to get to know Anacortes. It's in an old, residential area that is peaceful and quiet, but you're an easy long block's walk from the center of town. There you can have an early breakfast at a cafe where "everybody knows your name" or fish 'n chips for lunch. The charming, but up-to-date theater (2 blocks) even hosted the 25-year anniversary "Phantom of the Opera" special from London. And three marinas, two supermarkets, and several coffee shops are a slightly longer walk (or 3-minute drive). Art galleries, antique shops, flea markets, and thrift shops abound.
The house is charming and comfortable and more than adequate for a single, couple, or small family. Although the kitchen is compact, it's fine for easy-prep food. But because you'll want to take advantage of the great Anacortes restaurants, you won't miss your living room sized gourmet kitchen at home. The beds are clean and comfortable, and the BR and shower were recently updated. The living room, with its TV and fireplace, is very comfortable. I spent considerable time on the front porch, enjoying the sun, visiting with the passersby, and taking an occasional snooze.
The manager and her husband ensured that all was well throughout our stay. Her cell phone never went to voicemail; she answered immediately the few times we called (e.g., to let her know we would be on Vancouver Island for a few days and out of the house). We couldn't have asked for more, and we would go back again without a second thought.
Excellent Location in Anacortes
We rented this little two story house for 2 weeks while we were relocating to the area. Tanna the property manager could not have been nicer. She was laid back and relaxed but you felt looked after at all times. Tanna even went out of her way to help us with several personal matters during our stay that helped us immensely.
The wireless internet was a great bonus for us as I must work daily from my computer. The house is small but very cozy with nice hard wood floors and a working wood fireplace in the living area (wood supplied).
Our only complaint was the teeny little fridge in the kitchen. We found it quite taxing at meal times as we had to shop almost daily in order to fit anything in the fridge or else eat out, which can get expensive over several weeks, but being only one block from downtown commercial avenue almost made up for it.
We highly recommend this rental and would definitely recommend it to our friends and family.
Great location - Great time!!!
We leased this home for one month and have already reserved it for next year : ) Both the rental agent and the owner are friendly, reasonable people who will do their best to get you whatever you might need during your stay -- just ask. * * * The location is fabulous -- an easy walk to all of the fun shops and restaurants on Commercial Street and also an easy walk to the Guemes Ferry. The Saturday morning farmers' market is just a couple of blocks down the street. Parking is on the street, and we never had any problem with that. Because everything is so close, different people can easily choose to do different things at the same time without hassels about arranging transportation. * * * Both bedrooms are large with large windows and very comfortable. We appreciated the casual decor and relaxed, comfortable feel of the place. The kitchen is basic and it worked just fine for us (a gourmet cook might wish for more). ** Our well-behaved, medium-size, indoor dogs had a fabulous time, too. There's a great park just a block away for easy-breezy dog walking. There are two dog parks in town, and one is walking-distance from the house. There is no place outside for pets, so I wouldn't recommend you bring a "yard" pet. * * *
