We have been coming to the Banyan last 10 years and fell in love with this place that's when we decided to purchase this unit. Our children absolutely love using all the facilities. We welcome you to our home and hope you enjoy your stay.
The Owner purchased this condo in 2010
Condo is tired. Mattress is on plywood. 2forks, no dinner knifes, 1 dinner spoon. Curtains circa 1965. Impossible to shower without flooding the bathroom! But condo is quiet (except traffic noise). Location is good for walking to beach and downtown.
We visited in December 2016 and were extremely pleased with the condo. It had everything that we needed for a pleasant visit. The view from the lanai was amazing and we loved watching sunrises and sunsets of Diamond Head and the ocean in the distance. Waikiki Beach was only a block away. The bed was very comfortable and we enjoyed having 2 tv’s in the condo. Having a full kitchen helped save on food costs. The only improvement that I could see would be to put in a new shower head. We had a couple of issues with the condo (security code issue and problem with the a/c), but Rob was very helpful with getting the problems corrected very fast. On the day of our departure our flight didn’t leave until that evening, and since nobody was checking in that day, Rob suggested that we stay in the condo until it was time for our flight, so we got to lounge around the pool for a few more hours. I couldn’t imagine that happening in a hotel. If we are able to make it back to Waikiki someday, we will definitely stay here again.
What a lovely place to stay in paradise!!! This condo is up to date, clean, comfy and close to everything. You can not beat the beautiful 28th floor view of Diamondhead- loved waking up to see it every morning along with the ocean! Was a treat to be able to leave the sliding doors & windows open to feel the warm balmy breeze. The kitchen is beautiful and has everything you would ever need. The bathroom is also up to date. The location is just a couple minutes walk to the beach, shops and restaurants. The pool is a wonderful place to enjoy for cooling down or catching those rays! Lots of lounge chairs and the condo includes beach towels. We would highly recommend this condo and can not wait to return!!!
Stayed here for about a week and this is great location right on Waikiki Beach. Unit has nearly everything you need. It was clean, well presented as it's shown on pictures. BEACH LOVERS - all things you need are available on the patio and beach towels are provided. KITCHEN was clean, all appliances were working, most of the things I needed to cook meal were all in there. BATHROOM was clean. The counter had shampoo, lotion and conditioner. If you're staying longer, might need to get bottles at ABC Stores (Walking distance) or Safeway (about 1.5 miles), LOCATION: about a block away from the beach. If you want to run, run on Waikiki beach towards all the shops or towards Diamond Head. The bedroom and the balcony has an amazing view of the Diamond head and the Ocean. It's near Honolulu Zoo. PARKING GARAGE - very tiny space, but make sure you request that so you don't have to pay daily. Internet worked well and it was fast. TV are all flat screen and modern. LAUNDRY: Make sure you get quarters, it's $2.00 a load, $2.00 for dryer (High heat lasts 1Hr). FOOD: There's a ton of food places near the unit. If you want to drive, about a mile away from Rainbow Drive Inn. 2miles - Agu Ramen. Poke, there's a new poke place nearby Safeway. Didn't get to try it, but you can also buy poke at Safeway. SOUVENIRS - It's about 15 mins drive, but I recommend that you go to Aloha Swap Meet. FRIDAY NIGHTS - Free fireworks show at Hilton Waikiki Village. It's a far walk, but with all the shops on your walk, I think you won't know the distance you've walked. You can always drive there, but get there early for better parking. There was a public parking we found for a last minute and cost about $10. It was about couple of blocks of walk. Next visit in Oahu, I'll definitely rent and recommend this unit again. Mahalo!
My family stayed here for 1 weeks and we have been to the Waikiki Banyan before, it's my 5th trip back to Waikiki. This unit was well presented, it had an updated living room & kitchen and was well stocked with appliances (and a few boxes of leftover sandwich wrap and foil for packing lunches on the beach and ice packs in the freezer). We had a good supply of towels, the coin operated washer & dryer was just down the hall if we needed to do any laundry, so pack lighter. The wifi and parking was included which was great, considering most other hotels charge a resort fee for this. In many hotels and condo in Waikiki the pool and hot tubes are a great bonus, but spend most of your time exploring all the beaches and tourist attractions. I also forgot to mention that there was a few Bogie boards, beach chairs, umbrella, float mats and most important a medium size roller cooler for the beach. Within Walking distance (a few blocks) there is medium size market called Food Pantry with a good supply or if you have car you can go Times or Safeway (if you stay a week, get the Safeway Loyalty card(free) for better discounts). If you want a cheap local lunch or dinner be sure to try the Rainbow Drive-in (Hawaiian Plate Food) about 3/4 mile walk from the condo, or the freshly made MarukameUDON Noodle Soup, be prepare for a short lineup during peak time, but just the next block over from the Food Pantry. Local attractions of course is Waikiki/Kuhio Beach & Honolulu Zoo (1 Block away) By the Big Banyan Trees...There is never any shortage of places to eat, but if there a line up, go eat cheap like the Royal Hawaiian Food Court...I see people waiting 1-2 hrs at the Cheesecake Factory...enjoy your time and explore, don't waste your time in line!!! There are many great coupon books on every street corner, I had a AVIS Car Rental coupon booklet with some great coupons inside too...If you want some serious shopping go to the Ala Moana Center... tired of shopping by 5:30-9:00 every night hit Happy Hour at Shirokiya the Japanese Food Court and Department Store in the Mall...Yummy Jap food from all the different stalls and draft beer for $1.00 or $5.00 a pitcher. Enjoy your time on the Island and Have Fun! Mahalo! Bryan~Toronto
