About the property

House, 2 Bedrooms + Loft, 2.5 Baths, (Sleeps 4-6)

The home is a historic craftsman bungalow that is located at the exact center of the Flagstaff Universe. The unique floor plan is spacious, airy, and light-filled with two large bedrooms and 2 ½ baths. The home has been renovated without compromising the architectural details of the period. Other interior spaces include a large living room, dining room, sun room, and office. The open kitchen forms the hub of the house and is cook-friendly and well appointed with everything you need to entertain guests. The bedrooms have uber-comfortable queen and king sized beds with upgraded linens.

The large tree-filled yard is a perfect place to enjoy outdoor Flagstaff. Relax in a hammock-for-two while viewing the peaks.

The home is located on tree-lined West Cherry Avenue in the heart of downtown. Walk to shopping and many of Flagstaff’s best restaurants and bars. Walk to the Observatory on Mars Hill, Disc Golf in Thorpe Park, or the weekly Farmer’s Market in Wheeler Park. Ride or Walk the Urban Trail – catch it a half a block from the front door.

This is a perfect vacation base camp for visiting Northern Arizona’s attractions -- the Grand Canyon, Sedona, Wupatki, Walnut Canyon, Meteor Crater, Sunset Crater, the San Francisco Peaks, or Snowbowl.

About The Owner

We are native Arizonans who live and work in Tucson and play and relax in Flagstaff.

The Owner purchased this house in 2009

Why The Owner chose Arizona

We picked Flagstaff to enjoy its four seasons and the multitude of outdoor activities it offers. We picked Downtown Flagstaff to give us the opportunity to leave our car behind and walk or bicycle everywhere.

What makes this house unique

We can stroll to great restaurants, fun bars, and unique shops. We are close to great downtown activities – First Friday Art Walk, the Farmer’s Market, and Free Movies in Heritage Square, to name a few. We are a very short walk, run, or ride via the Urban Trail to miles of National Forest. We really are located at the center of the Flagstaff Universe.

We recently returned from a (too short) stay in Flagstaff at this wonderful house. I can't say enough about what a great experience we had with Tim, his responsiveness and the comfort of this home. Tim responded to every question I had - and even some I didn't know to ask. The home is extremely well equipped, comfortable (the towels are amazing!) and really really cute. It is in a great location. After a full day of hiking, we returned to the home, parked the car and walked to nearby restaurants. Tim offered suggestions to several great places to eat and we found a few on our own, too. We had really nice weather, sat out back in the adorable back yard and enjoyed the sun in the afternoon. The tulips in the gardens were blooming, and the trees were just starting to bud. We were there at a perfect time! This is one of the best VRBO rental experiences we have had (and we rent through VRBO at least 3 times/year). We left Flagstaff relaxed, well fed and ready to return!

Great house with a great location

  • 5 of 5

We spent a long weekend in this house for our ski vacation and brewery tour. The location could not have been better. We made it to the slopes in 30 minutes, and walked downtown every night. The owners are very accommodating and a pleasure to work with. The house is well equipped (the kitchen has nicer pots than mine!). The fireplace was lovely, especially with 2 feet of snow outside. We will definitely be back.

One of our best rental experiences ever.

  • 5 of 5

This was one of our favorite rental homes ever. From the owner's eagerness to answer our many questions about the home, things to do and see, and must-try restaurants nearby, to the home itself. As other reviews state, this is not just a "rental", it actually feels like you are enjoying the comforts of your own home. The cozy layout, fully-stocked kitchen and perfectly appointed details made for a perfect stay.

Finally--a rental that feels like a "home"

  • 5 of 5

We spent the week at this bungalow with our two small children and we couldn't be happier with our stay. I loved the gas fireplace, claw-foot tub, and the character of the bungalow, as well as the proximity to downtown Flagstaff. The bars/restaurants are within walking distance, but far enough away not to be a nuisance. The bungalow was clean and had everything we needed for our stay. The owners were very responsive and helpful. Our kids loved playing in the snow in the fenced backyard (the walkways were shoveled prior to our arrival). This rental property actually felt like a home; it was everything we hoped for and we hope to stay here again.

Perfect Flagstaff getaway

  • 5 of 5

We spent a month in the West Cherry bungalow. It was a lovely craftsman house with all the amenities of home. Tim and Nancy thought of everything we could need to feel at home and enjoy Flagstaff and the surrounding areas. It is an easy location for walking to restaurants, farmers markets, shops, etc. The house had books, movies, maps of the area, and a library of information for exploring and hiking. They thought of everything we'd need for cooking. Our several guests felt at home, too. We're returning here next summer!

Favorite Vacation Home in the Cool Pines

  • 5 of 5

This was our third year staying in this beautiful Cherry Street Bungalow. We have 2 kids (4 and 6 yrs old) and absolutely love this charming house. My favorite is the backyard and hammock. Private and lushly landscaped. Fenced in for kids to play with out worries. Kids love the sun room to play puzzles and enjoy having breakfast, lunch and dinner on back patio! Our daughter feels so special in a darling bedroom that is perfect for her with a skylight and her own private bathroom. My husband enjoys the proximity to downtown and walking to all the great restaurants and shops. We hope to visit again next year.
