Apartment is located on a quiet tree-lined street, with easy access to all major subways and buses. Its a great location!!!!
Clean bed linens, also clean towels are included for the stay. It has fully equipped kitchen with Toaster, all tools and dishes, glasses, cups, you can enjoy cooking in the apartment. A full bathroom with a shower/tub.
It's perfect for two persons (full size bed in the bed room) but there is also a futon/sofa bed in the adjacent living room.
Excellent place to stay, the bed is comfortable, bathroom and kitchen aré clean. Evens was an excellent renter and very helpful when need it, he is connected with all apps on his cell, so always close for advice.
This will be a review for both the owner/operator Evens Joseph and his 1 bedroom apartment in Gramercy. What can I say about the apartment? The title is dead on, it is cozy. Perfect for two people, no more. I stayed here with my mother while my father was having open heart surgery at Beth Israel a few blocks away from Evens apartment. This was extremely convenient for us as it had a lot of groceries, restaurants, bars and very close proximity to the hospital so we had everything we needed. The best part of the apartment was that he kept the apartment VERY CLEAN! This is a big part of staying somewhere, cleanliness is my #1 priority which it seems is his as well.
On to Evens, he was absolutely amazing. He understood my family was going through some tough times and he went above and beyond his duty to make our stay as welcoming, peaceful and easy as possible. From going to the hospital himself, straight to my father's room to wish him well and drop off keys as we were going to be late, to making sure we had bottled water in his fridge for us and letting us know we could use his spices for cooking if needed. Honestly one of the nicest guys I've met, and next time we are looking to stay in the city, under much better circumstances, we wont have to look far as we now have a connection with Evens. Thanks again buddy for your effort and help. We appreciate you!
This apartment is great if you are looking for the full New York Experience. It was clean and comfortable for the 4 nights we stayed there. Suitable for 2 people, the cozy apartment is situated near coffee shops, grocery stores, shops, restaurants, parks, squares, the Flatiron district and subways.
Evens was very accommodating for our early and late check in and out. As well, throughout our stay.
A few things to consider, it is located near a police station and hospital and the sirens can be loud and recurring. However, the location feels safe. Also, there is no elevator in the building and after a long day of walking, you may not want to climb the 6 flights of stairs. Therefore, use the transit system as much as possible!
Thank you, I would definitely recommend this apartment to someone looking to see what it's like to live in Manhattan.
It was my first time visiting New York with my boyfriend, and I have to say we had a really great time!
The owner was very nice. When we first arrived, he offered us a glass of water and show us around.
He also gave us a map and show us the direction for different places that is worth to go!
The place is small but cozy, perfect for couples or friends to stay over.
Location is very convenient and safe neighbourhood!
A lot of restaurants in this area, please try Halal Guys and Baohaus!
p.s. Thank you Evens for your hospitality and the restaurant that you suggested for my boyfriend's birthday dinner! It was amazing! We would definitely stay over again if we come back to New York!
First time in New York. Apartment is in an excellent area. 15 min walk to Union Square metro station. $35 for a weeks pass on the metro-money well spent! Best way to get around. Evans gave us a metro map which was super helpful. Union Square has a great market Saturday and many other days of the week so definitely check it out before you go to the supermarket-fresh veggies, fresh/organic meat, fresh flowers, art! Gramercy is very central. Definitely check out the restaurants La Petite Abielle and Posto. Apartment is comfortable and has everything you'd need (even an iron and wifi!) except laundry-which is across the street. Evans is very nice, genuine and trustful. Will return to NY with my kids and hope his apartment is available. ❤️
Evens' prompt replies, flexibility, and generous spirit made this one of the easiest vacation rental experiences I've had on three continents. The apartment itself is fine. Given the price, it's a good value apartment in a good location. The apartment is in an older building without a lot of amenities, but it works well as a place to crash for a few hours in between work and play in the city. The apartment is very much as it appears in photos. Be aware that it's a sixth floor walkup. All in all, I only have one suggested improvement: I've stayed in 4-5 different vacation rental apartments in Manhattan over the past couple of years, and the bedroom in this apartment was quite a bit noisier and brighter than the others. Heavier drapes or other soundproofing on the window might be good. In the meantime, earplugs work well.
My friend and I stayed in Evens apartment in mid august in 2015. Evens was a fantastic host, who not only allowed my friend and I to check in early at 9 am (something no hotel or hostel would allow) but he also allowed us to check out late as our flight back home was at 10pm. This allowed us full range of New York city, without the pesky problem of dragging your suitcase behind you for 2 days.
My experience with New York apartments has been that they are always small. The same can be said for Evens apartment, however the functionality of the space was well done. Evens offers a full living room with a couch, tv and 2 bright windows that light up the room. The apartment also offers a medium sized bedrooms with a bed and wardrobe. The kitchen although small by an outsider's standards was perfect for day to day use as my friend and I would make breakfast and tea in the morning before leaving the apartment. This saved us money on having to spend money on 3 meals a day, and a grocery store is conveniently located at the 23rd street subway stop, which is the closest uptown subway to the apartment.
The location of the apartment was very nice, deep in Manhattan and easy to navigate from. The closest uptown/downtown subway was 3 blocks away and my friend and I used this subway every day for our adventures. The apartment is in the east village, a neighbourhood that is busling with life and young students. Lots of interesting restaurants and bars to explore in probably one of New York's least expensive neighbourhoods for food.
Overall the apartment was convenient and comfortable for the two of us. Evens was a fantastic host and the apartment offers the privacy that no hostel can provide and a price tag that no hotel in Manhattan can provide.
-The apartment also has air-conditioning and a full 4 piece bathroom.
