Bachelor Party/Guys Weekend
The Card's Nest made for a great spot for a relaxing yet entertaining weekend away to celebrate one of my buddies getting married soon. The cabin itself is a very comfortable place to stay, and it has everything you need to enjoy your time there. Taking the kayaks and the canoe out on the perpetually peaceful lake to do some paddling and fishing was an absolute highlight! The fire pit area makes a great spot to toss back a few cold ones and enjoy the scenery and time away from the hustle and bustle of day-to-day life. This was my second time staying at The Card's Nest and it certainly won't be my last!
The Cards Nest will forever be a memorable place. All you need to bring are your clothes and food. My family just got back from the best vacation ever!!! We enjoyed the fishing and boats (supplied by the cards nest). It's so pieceful there that you forget your next to a campground. I've never been so relaxed as I was in the hammock! If your looking for a place that has beautiful scenery, is quiet, relaxing, fully equipped, and ready to make amazing memories then I recommend you stay here. This cabin easily accomidated the 10 of us. They were very nice at answering my questions, and easy to check in and out with. We can't wait to plan our next stay here!
True relaxation at the Cards Nest
This was a different vacation then we've ever taken. We weren't sure what we were going to find once we arrived or what we would think about it, given the location (in a campground). However, I can honestly say that it was the most relaxing vacation we've ever had. The only time we left was to go into Big Rapids to get groceries. We spend the rest of the time fishing, relaxing on the beach, going out on the boats, sitting in the hammock, and then spent every evening by the fire pit. We had many questions before arriving and the owner was very responsive, helpful, and friendly. Thanks for sharing your cabin with us!
Probably best outfitted cabin we've ever stayed in over 24 years.
A lot of care went into the planning of this cabin, both inside and out. If U sit outside with your coffee, tea or whatever, you can feel your cares melting away as you watch the sun rise or set on the lake.
Saw our first loon, which I had thought was some sort of exotic bird but is actually in the duck family.
Loved the town of Big Rapids, don't miss the River Walk.
Chip and Dale were very entertaining but declined to come home with us. Probably heard about the cat.
Just returned from several days at the Cards Nest with a group of friends. This place was absolutely perfect - beautiful scenery and quiet. Lots of seating around the great fire pit. Being able to use the kayaks/boats/fishing poles was ideal for this group of Yooper girls! We cannot wait to go back!
Fourth of July Vacation
My family of 4 along with my sister's family of 4 enjoyed a week long stay at the Card's Nest! We thoroughly enjoyed boating, fishing, swimming, and sun bathing. A bigger beach/swimming area would have made it absolutely perfect! With the weather in the mid to upper 90's we did a lot outside! All the ammenities you will ever need right at ur fingertips. Good groceries stores were a bit of a drive, but that was no big deal. Very quiet, peaceful lake. Over all we all had a great time. Lots of wildlife and inside a really friendly campground! They keep a log book for guests to fill out, which was really neat to read about how people have enjoyed it over the years. The owner is very communicative and friendly! Would definitely return! Thanks so much!
