The Little Red Cabin is a great property for families and friends to gather. The cabin's securely fenced yard is beautifully wooded, play horseshoes, read a book, play games or hang out in the hammock on the giant deck. Its so nice to relax with a glass of wine and watch the squirrels, bunnies and birds. At night the stars are brilliant. The deck also has a big table with an umbrella and a barbecue. The cabin's kitchen has everything you would ever need. The queen bed is extremely comfortable. The birds hang out at the bird feeders in the front yard, its fun to watch them from the dining table or the couch by the fireplace. The cement driveway is flat, there are no stairs to the front door, it's easy access. If you feel like exercise, there is a one mile fairly flat loop to walk from the cabin, or if you are looking for more strenuous walks there are lots of hills to walk in the area. The cabin has lilacs blooming in the spring, flowers in the summer. The cabin is very private because it is surrounded by trees, yet it is very easy to get to by car. The Little Red Cabin is on a well maintained road that is plowed when it snows.
The cabin is used by our family and friends often, therefore it does not feel like other rentals that are often missing things that you need. It is very complete and personal. I decorate for the seasons and holidays. Our goal is for it to have the feeling of it is 'your little red cabin'.

I moved to Idyllwild when I was 9 years old. My husband, Doug and I have five children, and eight grandchildren. Our youngest grandchild has special needs, he is 6 months old and lives on the mountain with his family. Idyllwild is the best community to raise a special needs child. My parents, my brother and his wife all live in Idyllwild. My sister has a vacation home in Fern Valley. We are all very lucky to live in such a beautiful place. This photo is missing four adult children and four grand-children. It's hard to get everyone together at the same time, and the youngest wasn't born yet.
Lynn Henninger purchased this cabin in 2007
We bought the Little Red Cabin because our family was getting so large that we needed more space when we all get together. The grandkids love to come up and play in the back yard and go on hikes. Their favorite store is the Candy Cupboard located in the middle of Idyllwild and the park where our town has summer concerts and there is a wonderful park for the kids to play.
This cabin has the best deck! If you are a dog lover you can relax on the deck while your dog explores the huge fenced yard. We love to play horseshoes at the cabin. With the big deck overlooking the horseshoe court everyone can watch. Because we have lived in Idyllwild for so long if you need any information on what is going on or how to get somewhere we are able to help. The cabin is minutes from the hiking trails, a mile and a half from the center of town and less than a mile from the Idyllwild Arts Foundation.
A LOVELY, NOT SMALL RED HOUSE, SET AMONG GORGEOUS TREES, WHICH ALLOWED FOR PRIVACY.
A FULLY FENCED YARD, NOT VISIBLE, BECAUSE OF LUSH PLANTING COVERING IT, ALLOWING
OUR TWO DOGS TO ROAM FREELY AND SAFELY. JUST EXQUISITE, LOVELY HIKING AREAS. WE
LOVED EVERY SECOND SPENT THERE. LYNN AND DOUG, OWNERS, WERE FRIENDLY AND SO VERY
HELPFUL. FIVE STARS FROM US. THE HOUSE IS FULLY FURNISHED, KITCHEN TOO. MY ONLY
COMPLAINT IS THAT WE HAD TO LEAVE AFTER OUR WEEK WAS UP.

The little red cabin was darling! The directions to the cabin were perfect. We loved the big deck in the back - it was a perfect place to read, nap or enjoy a nice breakfast. Thunder enjoyed his backyard and also visiting his neighbor, Charlie. He is such a nice boy.
The cabin was stocked with just everything we needed and was very clean. We would love to come back sometime. We had some nice meals out and also a Nature hike.
Thanks again for a wonderful stay!

Clean, comfortable, smelled good inside and out. Lots of thoughtful touches, like a basket of snacks for the humans and a jar of biscuits for the dog. A National Forest Pass was provided along with backpacks. Fresh ice cubes in the freezer, a well equipped kitchen and a very comfortable queen bed. Town is a quick and easy drive 5 minutes or so away. One can take lovely neighborhood walks right outside the door. A safe and fun yard for dogs and the deck was a lovely place to relax. The chattering squirrels high up in the trees kept my dog entertained for hours. I highly recommend The Little Red Cabin. Lynn is very kind and helpful - there if you need her, if not, she gives you your privacy.
Idyll Awhile for wine/beer tasting and light fare
A Higher Ground for coffee and outdoor seating
Ferro and Fratelli's for good Italian food.
Mile HIgh Cafe for breakfast (can eat outside)
------all the above are dog-friendly-----
My family of four has stayed at the LRC five times now, and we always love it. Lynn does a great job with the little decorating touches that make you feel right at home. It is always impeccably clean upon arrival, and we love the quality linens and towels, along with a well-supplied kitchen. We will be coming back again to the LRC and recommend it highly.
We had a wonderful four days where we celebrated our 57th wedding anniversary. Our dachshund, Sammie, loved the deck and the fenced back yard. We spent much of our time in the hammock--a shade screen made it usable all day. This is a cute red cabin (not fancy) with a fully equipped kitchen, direct TV, secure wifi and plenty of space for a couple. There is a hideabed in the TV room but it would not be as comfortable for four. We hope to return!
Very clean and orderly. The yard and deck are fenced. There are big trees in the yard. The deck is very relaxing. The neighborhood is also very nice. You can walk in either direction on Double View Drive and enjoy the different properties and views. I would stay there again.
Idyllwild Arts Foundation is less than a mile from the cabin, Idyllwild is a place to bird watch, bring your mountain bikes, or enjoy a nice walk from the cabin to Inspiration Point.
