A very cute cabin, 1 Bedroom + Den, 1 Bath, (Sleeps 2-4)
The Little Red Cabin is a great property for families and friends to gather. The cabin's securely fenced yard is beautifully wooded, play horseshoes, read a book, play games or hang out in the hammock on the giant deck. Its so nice to relax with a glass of wine and watch the squirrels, bunnies and birds. At night the stars are brilliant. The deck also has a big table with an umbrella and a barbecue. The cabin's kitchen has everything you would ever need. The queen bed is extremely comfortable. The birds hang out at the bird feeders in the front yard, its fun to watch them from the dining table or the couch by the fireplace. The cement driveway is flat, there are no stairs to the front door, it's easy access. If you feel like exercise, there is a one mile fairly flat loop to walk from the cabin, or if you are looking for more strenuous walks there are lots of hills to walk in the area. The cabin has lilacs blooming in the spring, flowers in the summer. The cabin is very private because it is surrounded by trees, yet it is very easy to get to by car. The Little Red Cabin is on a well maintained road that is plowed when it snows.
The cabin is used by our family and friends often, therefore it does not feel like other rentals that are often missing things that you need. It is very complete and personal. I decorate for the seasons and holidays. Our goal is for it to have the feeling of it is 'your little red cabin'.

About Lynn Henninger
I have lived in Idyllwild for 50 years. My husband, Doug and I have five children, and eight grandchildren. My parents, my brother and his wife all live in Idyllwild. My sister has a vacation home in Fern Valley. We are all very lucky to live in such a beautiful place.
Lynn Henninger purchased this Cabin in 2007
Why Lynn Henninger chose Idyllwild-Pine Cove
We bought the Little Red Cabin because our family was getting so large that we needed more space when we all get together. The grandkids love to come up and play in the back yard and go on hikes. Their favorite store is the Candy Cupboard located in the middle of Idyllwild and the park where our town has summer concerts and there is a wonderful park for the kids to play.
What makes this Cabin unique
This cabin has the best deck! If you are a dog lover you can relax on the deck while your dog explores the huge fenced yard. We love to play horseshoes at the cabin. With the big deck overlooking the horseshoe court everyone can watch. Because we have lived in Idyllwild for so long if you need any information on what is going on or how to get somewhere we are able to help. The cabin is minutes from the hiking trails, a mile and a half from the center of town and less than a mile from the Idyllwild Arts Foundation.

Cozy Vintage Cottage, big deck, nice fenced yard.
We spent part of spring break at the LRC and it was everything we were looking for. The cabin was vintage and homey and very comfortable. The large deck was fabulous for dinner time and hanging out on the hammock. Everything you could think of was supplied in the kitchen and we also used the BBQ on the deck. Our two big dogs loved the yard and were fast friends with Bodie next door. We took them on the Ernie Maxwell trail and they loved exploring the scenic trail. We would love to bring them out in the winter to play in the snow. Idyllwild town has so much to see we hope to return and visit the LRC again as it was a perfect getaway place for us!
Thank you for your hospitality Lynn we really love your cabin!
Ralph & Cherri and Chili Dog (bassett hound) and Penny (Big golden retriever)
The LRC is a great get-away for anyone with a dog (or without a dog). It has a big secure yard and deck to hang out on. We love our LRC too! Thank you for the nice review.
Charming get away
Everything from the drive in to the drive home was perfect. The location of the Little Red Cabin is far enough away from the tourist areas to be quiet but not too far to feel isolated. The trees, the patio, and the cozy home made my stay ideal. The squirrels, the birds, and the fenced yard made it perfect for my dog.
If you are looking for a quiet get away, this is the perfect place to go. The kitchen is fully stocked and the dog treats were a sweet surprise. The patio offers a place of solace for reading and stargazing. And if you need it, there is WiFi and a variety of cable channels.
The owners have consider what comfort feels and looks like and the Little Red Cabin certainly reflects that.
Loved our stay at the LRC
My husband and I brought our new pup, AnnaRey, up for her first trip away with us. We found The Little Red Cabin and thought it looked just right. And, it really was! The cabin itself was clean and well stocked with everything you could need. The bed was super comfy with wonderful fluffy bedding, lots of extra bedding and plenty of towels. They even hung out nice bath robes and backpacks with Adventure Passes for the local lake and hiking trails! Oh, and bowls with snacks and candies! But, best of all for us, was the huge deck and fenced yard below! We could give our new girl freedom to roam around the little forest, or keep an eye on her on the deck when we needed to. She'd never seen squirrels or quail before and she was "very" interested! She even met the owner's dog Bodie through the fence, and that went pretty well. We had a wonderful time relaxing in the beautiful setting and felt like AnnaRey's first trip was a great success! We have zero complaints and hope to come back again soon!
The LRC was very charming and relaxing.
Our stay at the LRC was nice and relaxing. We had access to playing horse shoes, patio, close by town, and nice walks. It was cozy, warm and romantic with everything you could need.
Little Red Cabin
We just feel in love with the Little Red Cabin!!
We felt right at home here from the moment we opened the door, so warm and inviting.
What a stress reliever! We would sit by the fire and play cards. Take long walks with the dogs, we even saw some deer! Lynn, thank you for letting use stay at this wonderful place!
Jamie & Jeanette (Thousand Oaks )
We will be back.
P.S. I now have to keep Werther's caramels in the house!
such a cool house
we really enjoyed this property! Lynn set up the dog water bowls and had treats for the dogs and their people on the counter upon arrival. It really made all of us feel welcome and special.
The back yard is securely fenced in, with a lot of room for the fur babies to explore. We felt like we were in the forest!
We are already trying to plan our next visit to this place and have shared the link with several friends as it is just too good to keep secret.
If you visit, make sure you hike up to the top of the street to see the amazing views.
This property is a very short drive to the local trail-heads and town. The ONLY thing that could have been better about our trip would be that we stayed longer! Next time we will!
Thank you Lynn! such a great place!
Idyllwild Arts Foundation is less than a mile from the cabin, Idyllwild is a place to bird watch, bring your mountain bikes, or enjoy a nice walk from the cabin to Inspiration Point.
