The Poco Loco Ranch has a rustic main house, a guest house and a fantastic separate game room. The main house has a large living room, kitchen, 3 bedrooms, (2 with king size beds, and 1 with two twin size beds) and 1 ½ baths. The living room has 3 sitting areas (including 2 fold-out sofas), a large flat screen t.v., and two tables for dining. The covered front patio has two seating areas, 5 tables with chairs, 3 ceiling fans, and usually a nice breeze. There is an outdoor Grill and a separate Smoker for BBQ cooking and entertaining.
The guest house has a large bedroom with a sofa area, 2 queen beds, a full bathroom, a kitchenette, and a small dinette.
The huge game room is spectacular. It has a beautiful antique pool table, a 22’ championship Shuffleboard table, a “Whirlwind” Pinball machine, Ping Pong table, air hockey, foos ball tables, and a sitting area with two sofas. All three structures have fireplaces and a second patio is centrally located between the ranch houses.
Onsite activities include Hayrides, BBQ cookout, bonfire, horseshoe pits, volleyball, and more.
The Poco Loco Ranch is only ten minutes from the charming antique shops and cafes of Boerne, five minutes from The Cave Without a Name, twenty minutes from Fiesta Texas, and minutes more to Sea world and the famed Riverwalk of San Antonio. To the north, the World War II Nimitz Museum and the wineries and craft shops of Fredricksburg are about 45 minutes away.
Great lodging for area weddings - Minutes from Serengeti Resort, Marquardt Ranch, Paniolo Ranch, Boerne, Bergheim, and Sisterdale.
Enjoy a “Poco Loco Ranch” experience!

Area shopping and dining. Cave exploring (nearby - Cave Without a Name). Hiking, fishing, swimming on 250 acres of prime hill country land.
Just got home after a long weekend at the ranch with our large family group and it was such a great place for us to gather! Plenty of outdoor space to enjoy early morning coffee or a late evening cocktail; plenty of things to do for all ages; and very welcoming indoor space that made us feel at home and comfortable. There's nothing fancy here, and that's perfect for the location and for our large group of siblings, spouses, and older aged kids who just need a space big enough to get together. It's homey, comfortable, and just what we needed for quality family time!
The game room was great for all; the pool area was perfect for hot Texas summer days; and even though the river isn't right out the back door, it was close enough for a fun afternoon of hanging out, swimming, and floating for those of us who wanted to do so. There was plenty of space in the main house for different activities to take place at one time when not enjoying the outdoors - cards at one table, dominos at another, and a board game at another!
Ranch owners are very friendly, welcoming, and accommodating during the booking process, upon arrival, and while we were there for anything we needed or had questions about. Thank you Melinda and Charles for sharing your little piece of heaven with us - we had such a great time! The Poco Loco Ranch will surely stay on the list of places that work for our group!
With families and the wedding party from all over the state and from the East coast, this was an ideal place to have a rehearsal dinner and to chill before the rehearsal and the wedding (which were held at Sisterdale Dancehall.) The accommodations are definitely rustic, but it was very clean and relaxing. After the dinner, the guys in the wedding party enjoyed the rec room while the families got to visit in a relaxing atmosphere. There was plenty of room for the rehearsal dinner guests. It was great that one family could sleep in the main house and the other in the guest house as it gave each family privacy. The owner was very responsive to our needs, even allowing me to see the place a couple of times before our arrival so we could plan the dinner. I highly recommend staying here.
Our extended family stayed here over the 4th of July. Wonderful rec-room that can keep teenagers busy while adults can enjoy the views and solitude. Close enough to town with all you could need yet far enough out for that country feel. My only regrets was we didn't stay long enough. River was up and float trip was tranquil. Nothing like a normal float trip down the guadalupe river that's wall to wall people. Rustic in some regards, but that's what gives it it's charm.
Yes the house is old but who wants to be inside! Wonderful place for children.. Grandchildren did a short musical on the stage, thriller of a hay ride, floating the river and the pool and game room. The large living area lend itself for cousin sleep over on blow up mattresses. We left only to be picked up from the river and a quick trip for shaved ice.
What a great time we all had at the Poco Loco Ranch! Thank you Melinda for allowing us to check in early, it sure made things a lot easier. We had adults and young adults coming and going all weekend and everyone loved the ranch. The game room was probably the biggest hit with so many activities and a large enough space for all to gather. Of course the hot tub and pool got a lot of use as well. I would and have already recommended Poco Loco to everyone. We will definitely be staying here again!!
This is our third or fourth time to stay at the Poco Loco Ranch with family and friends. This year we had a group of eight staying for three nights. As always, the grounds were beautiful and the accommodations were outstanding for our needs. It is only a few minutes into town for food and supplies, as well as numerous wineries within an hours drive. The owners are so gracious to assist us in numerous ways and so pleasant to deal with each time. Our entire group always enjoys the relaxing atmosphere as we take a few days to recharge our batteries as we return to our normal work lives. Thanks, Poco Loco for keeping us from going a little bit crazy!
Hiking, swimming, tubing down the river (weather permitting), roaming around the ranch, enjoying the expansive outdoor, enjoying our huge gameroom with pinball, shuffleboard table, foosball, pool table, and more!
