Our five bedroom and four bath cabin is nestled on the Tennessee River between Guntersville, Alabama, and Scottsboro, Alabama, just off of Alabama Highway 79 North. Situated between the famous Waterfront Grocery Bait and Tackle Shop and Goose Pond Marina. We have hook-ups for boats and campers. Perfect for fishermen, family reunions, and wedding rehearsels. The cabin comes with supplied dishes, cookware, bed linens, bath towels, garbage bags, coffee, and cleaning supplies. All you need to bring is your food and personal items.
My husband is retired and I am the CFO of the local electric utility company.
Rita Smith purchased this cabin in 1992
My husband grew up fishing and water skiing on the Tennessee River. He always wanted a location there. In 1992, we purchased the land and constructed the dwelling. We remodeled it in 2002. My husband always wanted to turn it into a bed and breakfast but with numerous health problems we decided to let others enjoy it with their families like we enjoy it with our family.
We enjoy fishing, boating, walking thru the woods down to the lake.
We want to express our thanks for allowing us to stay in your lovely house for our visit. Everything was so accomadating for our stay. The space was great for the amount of people. Well furnished! We will recommend to our friends and hope we can come back again to visit in Guntersville. Thank you so much.
We went as a group of 8 on a golfing weekend. My wife and I was the first to arrive and the odor in the house was terrible. Old closed up and musty. A quick look around and we quickly saw that the furniture was probably the culprit. Every piece was stained and soiled . We went to the local store and bought several cans of Lysol spray and sprayed everything down and bought us a couple of lawn chairs to sit in. When the others arrived the smell was better due to the spray and turning the AC on and the weekend began. One of the wives was bitten on her legs by what I could only imagine was fleas from the furniture. We had planned on grilling out but the grills outside were nasty and the charcoal one was falling down, so no grilling. Then one of the guys was attacked by the neighbors dogs. Luckily he got to a big stick before they got him. We had ran them off form the house the night before. Other than that, the house is HUGE!!!! Pool table and plenty of games, great decor. We made the best of a not-so-desirable situation. Two chained dogs and a few thousand dollars worth of furniture and this place would be 5 star!
My family and I had a perfect vacation at Outdoorman's Heaven. This property felt more like being at home which was an added bonus since there were 11 people in our party. There was room enough so that everyone was comfortable and had their own space. The only reason I can't give this property 5 stars is because there are some improvements to some of the furniture and the dock area that needs to take place. Otherwise this is a perfect place if you want to get together with a group of people in one location.
The house was very well furnished (except for an ice maker or ice trays), spacious, and comfortable and the owner was very helpful. Members of our family really enjoyed the pool table. However, I would not recommend this place due to the vicious dogs next door. Two of our party went to take a walk and were attacked at the end of the driveway sending one to the ER with two bites. If the dogs are contained or gotten rid of, then this would be a wonderful house for a vacation.
Brought 4 teams from my fishing club down and stayed. Plenty of room. We had a ball. Looking forward to coming back in March and staying again with you.
I booked this home for myself and 4 siblings and their families and there was plenty of room for everyone. The home is outstanding, I could not have chosen anything better. The home is very spacious, clean and comfortable. I would definitely book it again.
Our family of 8 adults just left this property today. We were brothers and sister with our spouses. We just wanted to escape everyday life at home for a while and enjoy each others company. We could not of picked a better lake house. We had so much space her where we could join in with each other or we could escape away for a time if we wanted to. A couple of us brought our two dogs that had never been around each other, but they even relaxed and could be free of each other if they wanted to. There was so many supplies in the kitchen that we didn't expect to be furnished so we brought supplies along that we didn't need. If you are looking for a get away for a large group, you will not go wrong by renting this cabin. One word of warning if you bring your pets be aware that neighbor dogs were curious of our dogs some keep a close eye on your dogs. Thank you Rita you have a great place.
