Perfect family vacation

  • 5 of 5

I would absolutely go back to this home away from home. The house was so comfortable and the Texas views were amazing!! We enjoyed the beach during the day and the bay fishing at night! The neighborhood was quiet and felt like home! Any questions I had the owner was quick to help and went above my expectations. Our week was perfect and couldn't of wished for any better.

A very clean and comfortable home to rent.

  • 5 of 5

We stayed for a week and truly enjoyed our stay. The house more than enough room for our family of five. We have three teenagers and it was wonderful to have free wifi available. Great kitchen to cook and plenty of cooking implements available. When we rent a home we bring food for most meals; we did need to purchase at the grocery store condiments (ketchup, sour cream and mustard) for the house.

Its an easy walk to the beach, which mainly for the renters/residents of the subdivision - which we loved. Its a little difficult to access with the walking bridge to the beach damaged; you have to climb over a few large rocks to get there, but it's doable.

Its a pretty quiet neighborhood with a few canine pets who like to bark to "protect" their families as you walk by to the beach, but they are well contained in their yards or on their decks.

Places you need to see: Brazosport Museum of Natural Science at the college; an incredible collection of shells, ivory carvings and Native American artifacts.

Brazoria National Wildlife Refuge; they have a self guided car tour where you can pick up a cd and listen to a guide drive you through the reserve. It's an easy 45 minute drive to the historic shopping area of Galveston. Also if you want a larger beach, there are plenty of public beach access along the Bluewater Highway between Freeport and Gaveston. A place to definitely eat dinner is the Red Snapper Inn; excellent seafood with a Mediteranian flare.

If we go back to the Houston, Galveston area again for vacation, we will definitely stay in the same place.

Wonderful house. Great location. Couldn't have asked for more!

  • 5 of 5

The house was clean and well stocked with everything we needed. The beach is within walking distance or a short drive to the public beach. My family thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

Relaxing stay!

  • 4 of 5

The house was in a great spot! Loved the decor and the house was very spacious. It is a great little place to go and relax away from the hustle and bustle of life. Would have given 5 stars but the sheets on the upstairs beds were dirty upon arrival and the cleaning crew could be doing a better job. All in all, this place is amazing!! We will be staying again soon!!!

Owner's Response: Thank you for the review. We pride our self on a clean, cool place to stay. We work hard to make sure we buy quality sheets, quality towels and supplies. It's upsetting to me that the maid service which I pay a lot of money for would miss the upstairs beds. It will be addressed so this never happens again. I hate to fire people who depend on seasonal work, but I find this horrible and as germ-a-phobia, I would have been much more mad than you. Please give us another chance and I will do everything I can to make sure every guest has clean house. Thanks You, Paul Speich

Very nice place

  • 4 of 5

We enjoyed our stay very much. It is a very nice house and very clean. We did want to be closer to the beach, but didn't mind driving down to the access road. Paul always responded very quickly if we had questions. Would stay here again.

Great vacation at this property.

  • 5 of 5

Nice property, just as advertized. Two blocks to public beach access. Modern appliances, nice bathrooms, plenty of nice towels, we slept 10 adults and grown children and two younger children with the sleeper couch. Suggest to buy $16 foam egg crates from local Walmart for the beds, you will sleep much better. AC works well.

Would rent again.

Be sure to eat at Gaidos Seafood Restaurant, est. 1911, best seafood in town.
